Staywin Dream Island Overview
Staywin Dream Island is tucked neatly on Toruńska 15/205, right where the city’s bustling streets start to soften into the quieter lanes that lead toward the Baltic. I remember arriving on a rainy Thursday in early November, the kind of drizzle that makes the cobblestones slick and the city feel like a watercolor wash. The front desk was surprisingly efficient—no long queue, just a friendly staff member who handed me a keycard and a small brochure that already had the city map in it. The check‑in feel was almost like a local café: quick, warm, and with a touch of that Gdańsk charm you spot in the corner of a pier where fishermen laugh and the sea smells faintly of salt and diesel.
Parking is a relief, honestly. There’s a small, paid lot right next to the building that’s always available, even on the weekend when the streets are packed with cars and the traffic lights feel like a symphony of red. The noise from the street is just a low hum, nothing that keeps you up. You can actually hear the distant clatter of a tram and the occasional shout from a street vendor selling pierogi, which gives the place an authentic city vibe. The rooms themselves are a quiet oasis—walls thick enough to keep out the street chatter, but with a window that frames a view of the old town’s silhouette against the sky. I mean, the bed was a sleeper, but the mattress was so plush you’d forget you were in a hotel.
I was pleasantly surprised by the breakfast. It wasn’t a fancy five‑star spread, but there were fresh local cheeses, a selection of breads that smelled like yeast and butter, and a coffee that was strong enough to keep me awake until 10 a.m. The dining area is on the ground floor, right next to a small garden patio where you can sit and watch the city wake up. The staff, though busy, made sure I didn’t feel rushed. I also noticed that the Wi‑Fi, while decent for browsing, does lag a little when video calling, so if you’re a business traveler, maybe consider a pocket Wi‑Fi as a backup.
The location is what really makes Staywin Dream Island stand out. A 10‑minute walk takes you to Gdańsk Główny station, where you can hop on a train to the island or to the historic center. If you’re into food, the street Staszic is just a stone’s throw away—there’s a little trattoria that serves the best pasta in town, and a bakery that still uses the old wood‑fired ovens. For a quiet evening, head to the waterfront where the pier is lined with cafés that offer live jazz on a warm summer night. The hotel’s proximity to the ferry piers means you can easily catch a boat to Westerplatte or the amusement park, all within a short walk or a short bus ride.
I’ll be honest: the only thing that made me think of returning is the small terrace on the roof, which is surprisingly sunny and offers a view of the city lights. It’s a perfect spot to enjoy a glass of wine after a day of exploring. And the staff? They’re like the locals you meet on the street who offer to show you a hidden café or the best spot to watch the sunset. If you’re planning a trip to Gdańsk, especially during the peak summer months when the city buzzes with tourists, Staywin Dream Island gives you a comfortable base without the feel of a corporate hotel. For a quieter getaway, visit during the shoulder months of late spring or early fall—traffic is lighter, the sea air is crisp, and the city’s historic charm is at its best. In short, it’s a spot that feels like home, with a dash of local flavor that makes the trip memorable.

The apartment was as expected. It was overall fine – equipped with what you need for a short holiday. If you need a few groceries, there is a mini market placed in the same street. Music/radio playing in the bathroom was a fun surprise, and the WIFI worked great. The building is supervised by a guard in the evening.
What could be improved: We were charged more than the price confirmed upon booking, due to an exchange rate added. I think this exchange rate should have been visible to the price before booking. After booking we were notified that there was construction work around the building. Our view to the lake was pointing to a construction site. The building inside feels a bit cold with heavy doors and empty hallways. The beds was hard, and the sheets felt like there was plastic beneath them. Could have been nice with air-con as the apartment gets warm on summer days.Janice from United Kingdom – 12 October 2023 (8/10)

Good location. You can leave your luggage at the office and they will help calling a taxi. The overall standard is nice and clean and very well equipped.
What could be improved: Not a good start when we found out there was no curtains in the bedrooms. Apparently they took them down because they were dirty. There are apartments just opposite the building so you have no privacy. They told us they would bring curtains the next morning at ten o clock but it did not happen. We waited for an hour an a half before going to the office again. It was fixed in the afternoon, but it’s a long time to wait. This is supposed to be a professional office handling the apartments and they should have told us straight away.
This is more like a hotel and some people do come home late at night and party.
The mattresses were very thin.
