I first crossed the wrought‑iron threshold of MONTOWNIA Lofts & Experience on a drizzly Saturday, the kind of day when Gdańsk feels both alive and hushed. The lobby was a cool mix of exposed brick and reclaimed wood, with a big, soft couch that practically begged you to sink into it after a long drive. The staff welcomed me with a quick, friendly digital check‑in—no long queue, just a few taps on a tablet, and I was handed a keycard with a little handwritten note: “Welcome to our loft, enjoy the city!” The scent of freshly ground coffee from the on‑site café lingered, and I heard the faint hum of an old‑world radio playing some Polish folk tunes in the background. I actually felt like I’d stumbled into a friend’s apartment rather than a hotel. The room itself was airy, with a huge window framing the Motława River, and the bed—oh, the bed—felt like a cloud; I fell asleep almost immediately, the city’s quiet muffling the distant traffic. (I mean, it was a perfect little oasis in the middle of the city.)

When I stepped outside, I was just a five‑minute walk from the heart of the Old Town, the iconic St. Mary’s Church, and the bustling Old Market Square. The hotel’s location on Lisia Grobla means you’re right in the thick of it, yet the building’s sound‑proofing

  Fantastic room with comfortable beds, cool furniture, a well-equipped kitchenette and nice bathroom. A really cool building in a good location, just a short walk to the war museum and the old town. The food hall downstairs is great, loads of different cuisines at a good price. We found the staff very helpful, professional and friendly. We will definitely stay again.
  
  What could be improved: The music from the food hall on Saturday night could be heard in our third floor apartment. It stopped at 11:00 so not unreasonable, but as we had to be up at 3:00 a.m. to catch a flight it was frustrating not being able to sleep.

  Brilliant hotel, very modern fit out, excellent customer service.
  
  What could be improved: I did not like the security guy stopping me every time I entered the hotel through the food court telling me I cannot bring a bottle of water or other groceries with me. I had to explain that I am staying in the hotel and I am not going to drink the water in the food court. This was somewhat surreal and very uncomfortable.

  There was a nice vibe at the foodcourt with live music and lots of people on good mood, but at the same time our room, despite being right on top of the action, was so well isolated that we heard no noice whatsoever.
  The room was cozy, stylish and comfortable.
  Highly recommend this place for something quite unique experience!
