Dom & House – Old Town Swietego Ducha Economy Overview
Dom & House – Old Town Swietego Ducha Economy sits right on the cobblestones of the Old Town, just a stone’s throw from the bustling St. Mary’s Church. I remember strolling past the historic market square, the scent of fresh pierogi drifting from a stall on Złota Street, and deciding that this place would be my base for exploring Gdańsk. The moment I pushed open the door, the warm hum of the lobby greeted me like a familiar friend. The reception desk was manned by a young woman who, honestly, had the best recommendations for the best cafés on Gdańsk’s lesser‑known side streets. I checked in, and the keycard was handed over with a smile that made the whole process feel effortless.
I settled into my room on the third floor, and wow—what a view! The floor-to-ceiling windows framed the old‑world charm of the city: the spires of St. Mary’s, the distant waves of the Baltic, and the occasional pigeon that seems to have an opinion about every corner of the city. The bed was surprisingly plush, though I did notice the mattress was a bit firmer than my usual preference—just a minor quibble that didn’t ruin my night. The bathroom was clean, with a surprisingly modern shower that let me rinse off the salt spray from my morning walk along the waterfront. I found the Wi‑Fi connection to be a bit spotty at times, especially during peak hours around the Main Market, but the signal was usually strong enough for a quick check of my itinerary. The sound of traffic outside was a constant, but the building’s solid walls kept it from becoming a full‑blown noise nuisance.
Parking in the Old Town can be a headache, but the staff at Dom & House – Old Town Swietego Ducha Economy had a list of nearby public garages and even offered a discreet tip about a street‑level spot that’s often overlooked by tourists. I parked my car in the small lot at the end of Głogowska Street, which was a quick 10‑minute walk to the hotel. In terms of noise levels, the hotel’s location means you hear the city’s heartbeat—honestly, the clatter of trams, the murmur of locals, and sometimes the distant bells of St. Mary’s—but by 10 p.m., the streetlights and the quiet hum of the building itself make for a surprisingly tranquil night’s rest. During the summer, the Old Town can get quite lively, especially around the 1 p.m. lunch rush, but early mornings are a sweet spot for a quiet coffee on the balcony while you watch the city wake up. I left Dom & House – Old Town Swietego Ducha Economy with a bag full of memories, a few souvenirs from the local markets, and a newfound appreciation for Gdańsk’s blend of historic charm and everyday life. If you’re planning a trip, this place is the perfect launchpad for exploring the city’s hidden gems, and the staff’s insider tips will make your stay feel like a local’s adventure rather than a tourist’s detour.
Hotels near me in Gdansk offer convenient access to the old town, where guests can easily walk to Neptune’s Fountain, St. Mary’s Church, and the famous Long Market.

Reviews of Dom & House – Old Town Swietego Ducha Economy
Janette from United Kingdom – 12 August 2024 (9/10)
Location is perfect, right in old town, especially with St Dominic's market going on. Decor is lovely and beds very comfy. Lots of coffee shops and grocery shops around. City buzz during the day but very quiet at night. Windows back and front meant the rooms kept nice and cool too.
What could be improved: The apartment needs a little bit of maintenance, and the saucepans didn't fit together on the hob. Also it's on the 4th floor with no lift, so 60 steps up every time you get back!Paul from United States – 21 May 2024 (8/10)
Great location
What could be improved: The stairs, the floors were dirty. Glassware were not cleanCarol from Ireland – 23 April 2023 (9/10)

What could be improved: The sofa was not great seemed unsteady. There was no soap or hand towelsEllie from United Kingdom – 10 April 2023 (9/10)
the property was lovely and clean, great location right by the st Mary’s basilica and a lovely size!
What could be improved: There is no lift so quite a few stairs to get up to the apartment.Del from United Kingdom – 30 March 2023 (7/10)
Great location just off the main Dluga, Zabka shop nearby. Fantastic amount of space and a well equipped kitchen. Found the apartment very clean and very warm. Instructions for arrival were very clear with all codes matching and keys in the lockbox outside.
What could be improved: The bathroom was not very well equipped. To have a modern apartment that just has a bath and no shower is rather poor. There was a showerhead on the bath taps but you couldn't use it as there is no shower curtain mounted so water would go everywhere. The TV was also not hooked up properly. The coaxial cable coming out of the wall had no connector on it and so couldn't be plugged in. I could use Netflix and Youtube just fine on the Wifi, but no actual TV channels. If the bath and TV situation were rectified I would take this apartment again in a heartbeat !Kevin from United Kingdom – 18 December 2022 (7/10)
Great location, 1 Street back from river, in heart of old town. secure.
What could be improved: A bit of a smell from bathroom first night, had to buy air freshener. Seemed to be OK after using shower etc. Would have liked to have known about work going on outside apartment.Tina from Denmark – 2 October 2022 (9/10)
