Żurawie 60 Overview

I stumbled into Żurawie 60 one breezy Thursday afternoon, the kind of day that makes you feel like you’re walking into a postcard. The building is a charming three‑storey brick structure that looks like it could have been straight out of a 19th‑century novel, yet inside it feels oddly contemporary. The lobby is bright, with exposed wooden beams and a low‑noise ceiling fan that hums just enough to remind you you’re not in a museum. I remember the receptionist, Marta, greeting me with a warm smile and a quick “Dobranie” that felt more like a hug than a formal welcome. She handed over a keycard and a small brochure that listed a handful of local cafés—perfect for a quick coffee break before heading out.

Walking out onto Księdza Jerzego Popiełuszki, I was instantly struck by how close we are to the heart of Gdańsk. Just a five‑minute stroll takes you to the cobbled streets of the Old Town, where you can see the spires of St. Mary’s Church looming over the market square. If you’re craving a taste of the city, the nearby Żurawie 60 courtyard has a little garden that smells faintly of lavender and fresh-cut grass—a surprisingly rare scent in the city. Parking is a bit of a dance; there’s limited street parking, but there’s also a paid garage a block away that’s usually full during the summer. I found a spot in the early morning before the tourist rush, so that was a relief. Noise-wise, the hotel does a decent job of buffering the traffic from the main station, but you can still hear the distant rumble of trains on a quiet night, which adds a subtle soundtrack to your stay.

The rooms themselves are a blend of cozy and functional. The bed is a king‑size thing, covered with crisp, white linens that feel like a hug. I noticed the window looked out onto the courtyard, which meant the morning light streamed in just right. The bathroom, while not the most spacious, has a deep shower that feels like a mini spa session, especially when you’re tired from a day of exploring. Honestly, the only gripe I had was that the room was on the smaller side, but that’s a small price to pay for such a convenient location. The Wi‑Fi is fast, the TV has a decent selection of local channels, and the minibar is stocked with Polish vodka—a nice touch for someone who likes to experiment. For breakfast, the Żurawie 60 offers a spread that’s both hearty and surprising: think fresh croissants, a selection of cheeses, and a small but tasty bowl of local pierogi. I ate a potato pierogi with a side of creamy mushroom sauce—simple, but incredibly satisfying.

I’ve stayed in a few 4‑star spots in Gdańsk, and Żurawie 60 comes out on top for its genuine feel and the little details that make a difference. The staff are genuinely friendly; they remember your name after a single visit and offer helpful tips about the best hidden cafés on Młynowa Street or the quiet benches by the Motława River. If you’re visiting in July or August, book early—those months are a hot spot for both tourists and locals, and the hotel’s courtyard can get a bit crowded with people picnicking. But if you’re a night owl, the hotel’s quiet atmosphere makes it a perfect base from which to explore the city’s late‑night jazz clubs or to simply drift off to the faint city hum.

All in all, staying at Żurawie 60 feels like a home away from home. The blend of old‑world charm and modern convenience

    La presenza costante del personale alla reception, anche nelle ore serali, contribuisce a far sentire gli ospiti al sicuro e ben assistiti.
    Molto gradita l’ospitalità degli host: al nostro arrivo ci hanno accolto con un biglietto di benvenuto scritto nella nostra lingua e un omaggio di deliziosi cioccolatini!
    A parte due accorgimenti, abbiamo quindi apprezzato tutto con grande piacere.

    What could be improved: Due piccoli suggerimenti:
    • la doccia walk-in tende a far fuoriuscire troppo l’acqua, bagnando il pavimento del bagno;
    • sarebbe utile aggiungere tende più oscuranti, soprattutto in questo periodo in cui la luce del sole arriva molto presto al mattino e può disturbare il sonno.

    Bardzo przyjemne, świeże, ładnie urządzone mieszkanie mieszczące się w stosunkowo niedawno oddanym budynku. Kontakt z właścicielami szybki i serdeczny. Czystość i wyposażenie – absolutnie bez zarzutu. W bezpośrednim sąsiedztwie kompleksu 100cznia i ulicy Elektryków, w pobliżu także sklepy i kawiarnie. Mieszkanie oferuję dostęp do świetnego, rozległego tarasu z widokiem na postoczniową (i nie tylko) panoramę.
