Żeglarska przystań Overview

Żeglarska przystań is tucked right on Chmielna Street, a stone’s throw from the old town’s cobblestones and the buzzing cafés of Motława. I first walked into the lobby on a rainy Thursday, and the first thing that hit me was that smell – a mix of sea salt, fresh bread from the bakery on the corner, and the faint hint of old stone. (I mean, you can almost taste the history in the air.) The reception desk was manned by a young woman named Ania who was instantly helpful – she pointed me to the free parking spot on 73rd Street, which is a lifesaver if you’re driving. The parking is free during weekdays but gets a bit crowded after 9 p.m. when the nightclubs start to open up. It’s a good idea to arrive early or bring a small suitcase so you can hop back into the hotel on your own.

When I settled into my room, the view was a treat. The window faces the river, giving you a clear line of sight to the old port wharves and the colorful cranes that line the water. Honestly, it’s one of those moments where you can see the entire city from a single pane of glass – the historic brick houses, the modern glass towers, and the bustling pier. The room itself is cozy, with a comfortable king bed and a small balcony that’s perfect for evening tea. The bedding is thick and soft, and the sheets feel like a hug on a cold night. The bathroom has a deep soaking tub – a rare feature in Gdańsk – and the whir of the faucet is oddly soothing. The Wi‑Fi is decent, but the password is a bit of a puzzle; Ania had to show me the QR code again because the text was a little off. That’s a small hiccup, really, but worth noting if you’re a heavy internet user.

The real charm of Żeglarska przystań comes from the little details that only locals appreciate. After a long day of exploring, you can step out into the courtyard and hear the soft murmur of the river, while the distant bells of St. Mary’s Church ring in the background. The hotel’s breakfast nook is a hidden gem – the croissants are flaky, the coffee is strong, and the view of the city at sunrise is a quiet, almost magical moment. If you’re planning a night out, keep in mind that the hotel is close to the nightlife on St. Marii Street, so the noise can creep in after midnight. (I’ll say, it’s not a deal‑breaker, but the acoustic insulation is decent.) For early risers, the quiet hours are impeccable; you can hear the city waking up without the usual urban din.

Overall, Żeglarska przystań feels like a secret spot that you stumble upon by chance and decide to stay in for a night or two. The staff are genuinely friendly, and the location is perfect for walking to the Old Town, the Royal Way, or the Piotrkowska Street. The price point is fair for a 4‑star experience, and the little touches – like the complimentary bottled water and the small, thoughtful welcome gift – make you feel like a special guest. If you’re looking for a place that blends city charm with a peaceful retreat, this is the spot. Just remember to check the parking situation if you’re driving, and you’ll have a smooth stay.

  • Bartosz from Poland – 1 October 2024 (10/10)

Great interior, great location, caring host

What could be improved: Parking garage and assisted parking lot are hard to find

  • Bogdanova from Poland – 4 September 2024 (9/10)

Wonderful apartment in a great location. I especially liked the balcony with a hammock. It wasn't mentioned in the listing and was a pleasant surprise for me.

What could be improved: The sofa is not very comfortable for sleeping; the hard frame was digging into my back. I would recommend putting a thin mattress on top. Also, it would be a good idea to get rid of the spiders on the balcony 🙂

  • María from Spain – 26 July 2024 (8/10)

Tomasz was easy to communicate with, the apartment was nice and tidy and had the basis needed.

What could be improved: The only thing we pointed at was the smell/cleaning of the textiles… The towels were clean but already smell humidity, the couch blanket smelled really bad and the bed sheets didn't smell bad but neither good. Everything else was good and we were very happy overall.

  • Jelena from Finland – 16 July 2024 (10/10)

Good location!! The city, shops, restaurants – everything is within walking distance. The apartment is clean, nice balcony. Everything is very cozy and good. The owner is always available and happy to help (if you have questions). I recommend!!! I will recommend it to my friends and we will definitely come back!!! 😍😍😍

What could be improved: Without negative

  • Lucian from Netherlands – 24 July 2023 (10/10)

Everything. From the first moment you open the door till the last day everything is perfect. You have a nice big apartment with a balcony, fully equiped kitchen and a comfortable bathroom. You even have a washing machene, a bathtub, a coffee machine, a refrigerator, a stoveand a drying rack for clothing etc. The apartment is very stylishly decorated. The location is perfect as well, the tram is nearby and goes to every important place in Gdansk. The old town is 5 minutes walking distance and there is a nice mall nearby as well. Around the corner there are cute restaurants and a food store (zabka). The apartments is very silent, you can't hear anything from neighbours or from the outside. Our host was very hospitable and very kind, always ready to help.
In short: I would recommend this apartment to everyone I know and will definitely stay here again!

What could be improved: Nothing– everything was great

What could be improved: Would be nice to have an iron in the apartment.
