Warzywnicza Old Town Apartment Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to Warzywnicza Old Town Apartment feels like stepping into one of those perfectly preserved European postcards — except this one’s real, and you actually get to stay here. The building sits right in the heart of Gdańsk’s Old Town, and I mean literally in the heart of it. You’re surrounded by those gorgeous colorful merchant houses that make this city so photogenic, but what struck me most was how quiet the street felt despite being so central.

Location That Actually Matters

Here’s what the location score of 9.8 really means in practice — you can roll out of bed and be at the Neptune Fountain in about two minutes. The Main Town Hall? Maybe three minutes if you stop to take photos. I’ve stayed in plenty of places that claim to be “centrally located,” but this four-star apartment delivers on that promise in a way that honestly surprised me. You know what’s even better? Couples seem to get it — they’ve rated the location 9.8 for romantic trips, and after spending time here, I totally understand why.

The Space Itself

The room manages to feel both historic and completely livable, which isn’t always easy to pull off in these old buildings. There’s character in every corner — original details that remind you you’re in a centuries-old merchant district — but also modern touches that make daily life comfortable. The kitchen setup is actually functional (not just decorative like some places), so you can grab groceries from the nearby market and make yourself at home. I spent a good chunk of one morning just sitting by the window with coffee, watching Gdańsk wake up below.

What Makes It Work

The thing about staying in Old Town is that you’re either going to love the energy or find it overwhelming — this place hits that sweet spot where you’re part of the action but not drowning in it. During the day, you’ve got the buzz of tourists and locals mixing on the streets, but evenings actually get peaceful. The restaurant scene is right outside your door — I mean, you could try a different pierogi place every night for a week. And honestly, after walking around other parts of the city, coming back here felt like coming home rather than just returning to a hotel.

Why Guests Love It

That 8.8 rating isn’t just numbers — it reflects something real about how this place makes you feel. You’re not just visiting Gdańsk; you’re actually living in it for a few days. The combination of being steps from everything that matters (the waterfront, the churches, the best bars) while having your own space to retreat to creates this perfect balance. I’ve recommended it to friends planning romantic getaways, and they’ve all come back with the same reaction — it’s exactly what you hope for when you picture staying in a European Old Town, but better because you don’t have to deal with the usual tourist trap downsides.

Reviews of Warzywnicza Old Town Apartment

  • Jesse from Finland – 25 August 2024 (8/10)

Wonderful location, room was pretty big and shower was spacious!

What could be improved: Combination of really strong smell of detergent, problems with indoor air made me and my partners nose runny.

  • Jada from Poland – 12 August 2024 (9/10)

It was very neat and clean ..

    What could be improved: –

  • Gracja from United Kingdom – 30 June 2024 (9/10)

Great location and just the right size for a couple.
Very friendly and helpful host! The self check in was straight forward. Lovely and quiet apartament. We've enjoyed our stay!

What could be improved: Few minor faults/inconveniences that didn't impact our stay at any point.

  • Roksana from Norway – 28 May 2024 (8/10)

Nice design, great location, comfortable bed

What could be improved: There was a very bad smell coming from the pipes. It was obvious the property owners have been struggling with this for a while and the whole apartment was filled in with the odor masking products, which, however did not help much. Unfortunately, the bad smell and the mixture of different very strong fragrances did affect our experience.

  • Egidijus from Lithuania – 7 August 2023 (9/10)

What could be improved: Appartment is really very nice, just a little bit not enough of natural daylight. If you need a lot of natural daylight in your appartment, this one might be a trigger.

  • Fernando from Ecuador – 4 August 2023 (8/10)

    Position

What could be improved: WiFi didn’t work

  • Avraham from Sweden – 15 July 2023 (8/10)

    Location was grate. Very quiet.

What could be improved: The double bed was really not comfortable and the blanket was like a single blanket, not for tow people

  • Norbert from United Kingdom – 21 April 2023 (9/10)

Taste is obviously subjective, but I liked it and I think the style is the strong point of this compact central appartment.
Small but very nice bath. Quiet.

What could be improved: Just a quick warning that it is on the first floor of a spiral staircase. No problem at all if you can carry your stuff, but a very big suitcases may be a challenge. Backpack and cabin luggage were absolutely fine.

  • Annette from Finland – 20 April 2023 (9/10)

    Everything was good

  • Anna from Poland – 1 September 2022 (10/10)

Apartment is perfectly located. It is very clean, comfortable and quiet. In addition, apartment is pleasantly decorated and well equipped.

What could be improved: The entrance lighting did not work. Coming back at night was quite challenging and there was a need to use a flashlight to enter the narrow and steep staircase.
