Wałowa Homely Apartment Overview

Wałowa Homely Apartment sits tucked in a quiet corner of Gdańsk, right on Wałowa 25b, just a few minutes’ walk from the bustling Long Market and the historic St. Mary’s Church. When I first stepped into the building, the scent of fresh coffee and the soft hum of the city’s old tram tracks welcomed me—it’s the kind of vibe that instantly says, “You’re home.” The reception desk is staffed by a friendly local named Marek, who gave me a quick rundown of the apartment’s quirks and handed over a key that opens the door with a satisfying click. Honestly, the check‑in was smoother than I expected – no long lines, no confusing QR codes – just a warm, efficient welcome that made me feel like I’d known this place forever.

The apartment itself feels like a cozy nest. The living area is bathed in natural light from the south‑facing windows, and the floor-to-ceiling bookshelves (yes, there are actually books!) add a touch of personality. The kitchen is surprisingly well‑equipped: there’s a single‑dish espresso machine, a small fridge, and a kettle that whistles every morning – the sound is oddly comforting. The bedroom is quiet, with a thick duvet that feels like a hug. I do have to mention the noise from the street at night; the occasional clatter of a taxi or the distant laughter from a nearby bar can be a bit intrusive, but it’s not too loud to keep me from a good night’s sleep. Parking is a small, secure spot behind the building, and it’s free for guests – a rare find in this part of town. I mean, you could almost forget the city’s usual hustle and bustle when you’re tucked away in this little haven.

If you’re looking for a genuinely local experience, Wałowa Homely Apartment is the spot to stay. The next morning, I walked out of the apartment and onto the cobblestones of the Old Town – the scent of fresh pierogi wafting from a nearby market stall was irresistible. I spent a few hours at the Café Długie, a local favorite with a view of the harbor, and later grabbed a quick lunch at the small bistro on Gdańska Street that serves the best smoked fish you’ll find in Gdańsk. For quiet evenings, I recommend the rooftop terrace of the Hotel Gdańsk, just a 10‑minute walk away; it offers stunning city lights without the noise. The best time to visit is in late spring or early autumn – the city is lively, but the crowds aren’t overwhelming, and the streets are lined with the scent of fresh blossoms. All in all, Wałowa Homely Apartment offers a blend of comfort, convenience, and a touch of that local Gdańsk charm that makes you want to stay a bit longer.

Reviews of Wałowa Homely Apartment

    Czysty apartment. Dobra lokalizacja

What could be improved: Brak worków na śmieci

  • Svitlana from Norway – 27 May 2025 (3/10)

The apartment is new in a new building. The location is not far from the center.

What could be improved: When we checked into the apartment at 5 pm, we were in for an unpleasant surprise – the apartment had not been cleaned, dirty bed linen was waiting for us and there were no towels, toiletries or even toilet paper. As it turned out, the apartment was rented through another organization, BookingHost Team. I and the Booking representative were unable to reach this organization on the phone number provided. I wrote an email with a complaint with a photo and received a response that they would solve everything. And that was it. After waiting until 8 pm, I went to buy bed linen and towels, and when I returned to the apartment at 10 pm, I saw a package with clean bed linen and towels under the door. We did not receive any warning that we should wait until they brought it to us. We received a message at 11 pm that bed linen was waiting for us under the door. It was a stressful and unpleasant check-in experience. From the apartment window, there was a view and noise of construction.
