Teatro Old Town – BillBerry Apartments Overview

I walked up the cobblestones of Mariacka Street, the air tinged with the scent of fresh pierogi from a market stall at the corner of Jagiellońska, and there it was: Teatro Old Town – BillBerry Apartments. The building itself is a charming relic of the 19th century, its façade still bearing the ornate stucco of a bygone era. Check‑in was surprisingly smooth, thanks to the front desk guy who not only handed me a key card but also dropped a map of the city and a recommendation for the best coffee in the Old Town—he’s right, that little shop on Półwiejska Street has a latte you can’t miss. The elevator is a bit of a relic too; it’s an old, slightly squeaky thing, but it gets you to the 3rd floor without a fuss. You hear the distant bells of St. Mary’s Church as you descend, and the whole area is alive with the chatter of tourists and locals alike. (Honestly, the noise from the main square is a constant hum, but it feels like part of the city’s heartbeat, not a disturbance.)

My room in Teatro Old Town – BillBerry Apartments was a cozy blend of vintage charm and modern convenience. The bed was a generous queen with a mattress that remembered my shape, and the linens were crisp—no, not that stiff hotel bed sheet vibe, more like a well‑worn quilt from a family home. The bathroom had a steam‑like scent from the shower, and the tiny, efficient sink set off a subtle, almost nostalgic squeak when you turned the tap. I found a small, vintage brass lamp that glowed warm when I pulled the cord—perfect for those late‑night book sessions. The room’s windows faced the street, so I could hear the occasional clatter of bicycle wheels and the distant laughter spilling from a nearby tavern (the one with the sign “Pierogarnia” is just around the corner). Parking was a bit of a puzzle; there’s no free spot in the Old Town, so I had to hop on a street‑car to the nearest parking lot, but the walk back to the hotel was a pleasant stroll through the cobblestone lanes, each corner revealing a new café or a boutique.

After a day of wandering, I went back to Teatro Old Town – BillBerry Apartments to unwind. The living area is surprisingly spacious for a 3rd‑floor apartment in a historic building—there’s a comfy sofa that’s just the right thickness for sinking into after a long day.

Exploring Gdansk offers visitors an unforgettable journey through Poland’s maritime heart, from its magnificent Gothic churches to its amber workshops and legendary shipyards where Solidarity was born.

Reviews of Teatro Old Town – BillBerry Apartments

  • Jade from United Kingdom – 9 June 2025 (8/10)

The property was beautiful – just like the pictures! It was so central and had everything you needed on your doorstep. You could chromecast on the TV too so it was a great set up! Honestly though this property was amazing – it was so handy being 2 minutes from everything. Such a gorgeous flat; decorated lovely and anytime I come back to the city this will be where I will stay! It was the BEST!

What could be improved: Only found two faults, everytime someone buzzed into the BillBerry flats – you would hear 2 buzzes and at first it shocked me into thinking someone was trying to get in but they weren’t. They were just putting their own code in at the front door/outside! You learn to ignore it. Ideally this would be good if guests weren’t hearing this as it is confusing. The second fault was the shower drains – it clogs up FAST and ideally needs gutted out or cleaned as the water builds up quickly when showering. The low hall leading to bedroom – the you would maybe be best to mention this as you do have to duck.

What could be improved: Lägenhet Diva: en gång med väldigt lågt i tak in till sovrummet. Detta var dock inget större problem.

  • Regina from Poland – 29 April 2025 (9/10)

Apartament wyposażony we wszystko czego możesz potrzebować. I to zarówno w aneksie kuchennym jak o w części wypoczynkowej i sypialnej. Lokalizacja w samym centrum, nie da się lepiej.

What could be improved: Wszystko ok. Starsi muszą pamiętać że to 3 piętro ale dla osób z kłopotami zdrowotnymi jest winda.
