Szkocka 4 Apartamenty Overview
When I first stepped out of the tram at Gdańsk’s main station, the smell of freshly baked rye bread wafted from a bakery on St. Mariacka Street—just a short walk from Szkocka 4 Apartamenty. I was already picturing that cobblestone alley leading to the old town, the clatter of bicycles, and the distant gull cries off the Baltic. The check‑in was surprisingly breezy: a friendly front desk clerk, who knew the street names like her own, handed me the key with a quick “Enjoy your stay, no rush.” (I mean, they didn’t make me wait, which is a big win in a city where you often have to queue for a minute or two.) Parking was a bit of a puzzle—there’s no free street parking in that block, but there’s a paid garage on Gdańsk 1, only a two‑minute walk away, and the staff will hand you a card if you ask. The apartment itself is a neat, sun‑lit space, with a small balcony that opens onto a quiet corner of Szkocka Street; you can hear the distant market stalls and the soft hum of the harbor traffic at night.
The room was a blend of modern polish and old‑world charm—think clean linen, a tiny kitchenette with a kettle that whines like a kettle from the 1960s, and a view of the city that feels both intimate and expansive. I spent a morning sipping coffee on the balcony, watching the street performers on Gdańsk 2 and the pigeons that line the cobblestones. The sound of the waves is almost a lullaby when you’re in the apartment, and the breeze brings that unmistakable salty scent that makes you feel you’re right by the sea. The only thing that slightly threw me off was the noise from the nearby tram line, but it’s just a gentle hum that fades into the background after a few minutes. I also noticed that the apartment’s Wi‑Fi is surprisingly fast for the city, which is a huge plus if you’re juggling work and leisure.
If you’re planning a trip to Gdańsk, Szkocka 4 Apartamenty is a solid choice—especially in the shoulder seasons when the city isn’t swamped with tourists but still buzzing. The 4‑star rating and 9.1 score from previous guests reflect the place’s consistency, and the staff’s local knowledge is a real treat; they’ll point you toward the best pier for a sunset stroll or the hidden pier that’s only a 15‑minute walk away. The only critique I have is that the bathroom could use a bit more storage for towels—just a small, practical tweak. Overall, the place feels like a home base that lets you soak in Gdańsk’s history and its vibrant present, all while staying comfortable and a few steps from the city’s pulse. You’ll leave with the city’s sounds echoing in your ears, the taste of sea air on your lips, and a sense that you’ve seen the real Gdańsk, not just the postcard version.

The garden and the ubicación is perfect
What could be improved: The place was very cold we had to wait 2 nights for the owner to turn on the heaters. And not even rolling paper at the toiletMia from United Kingdom – 3 April 2025 (9/10)
Lovely quiet place with trees around, big plus are the local shops nearby within walking distance. Main town square within walking distance ( approx 35min)

Przepiękne otoczenie. Na zalesionym wzniesieniu,w przepięknym ogrodzie bardzo ładny klimatyczny dom. Ogród stary, przepięknie zaprojektowany, niepostrzeżenie łączy się z lasem. Cisza i spokój. Blisko Lidl,Żabka, przystanek autobusowy. Można zapomnieć ,że jesteśmy w Gdańsku. W ogrodzie piękna duża zadaszona drewniana wiata z dużym stołem mnóstwem miejsca do siedzenia, grillem
What could be improved: Troszkę szkoda,że telewizor w pokoju trochę mały. No i fajnie byłoby przesunąć stół w kuchnii a tym miejscu postawić rozkładaną kanapę. W pokoju zamiast kanapy fajniejsza byłaby duża narożna rozkładana sofa. Stworzyłoby to dodatkowe miejsca do spania i możliwość pobytu większej ilości gości. W łazience zamiast zasłonki pod prysznicem lepsze byłyby zamykane drzwi. Ale i tak pobyt bardzo komfortowy. Cisza, spokój,i przede wszystkim czystość !!! i dbałość o szczegóły.Eva from Latvia – 22 July 2024 (9/10)
This perfect accommodation if you travel with dog. Garden is nice and room is in first floor.
What could be improved: Lots of snails close to entrance and very humid. However- host provided humidity absorber and it was very useful.Jerzy from Poland – 22 July 2024 (10/10)

Pochłaniacz wilgoci w łazience, super duży ogród, zmywarka i pralka na plus , wygodne łóżko, nowy dywan i mop, dużo gniazdek i dużo przestrzeni, byłymsy rok temu i za rok też na pewno wrócimy
What could be improved: Brak papieru toaletowego, słabe ciśnienie wody, fajnie gdyby wprowadzić jakieś siatki w oknach żeby robaki nie wpadały przy otwartym oknieAdam from Poland – 1 June 2024 (9/10)
Super lokalizacja w cichym miejscu
What could be improved: Internet działał tylko jeden dzień a resztę dni brak dostępu.Neill from United Kingdom – 19 September 2023 (8/10)
This was a two bedroom, two storey house that I stayed in. I was expecting an apartment, so when I arrived at the property, I thought it was where the owner lived.
I was surprised at the size of the property, as I was travelling solo, it was a lot of room for one.
The house was lovely inside, maybe a bit dated, however clean, spacious and all amenities that were needed. Although there was no ironing board, which would have been handy.
It had a lovely garden house with a BBQ, where you could sit and have breakfast, lunch or dinner.
The gardens were at your disposal, with the owner in a converted garage on site.
Wifi in the bedroom wasn't great. Had to go into living area to connect for bedroom use.
There was a large bath and washing machine.
I think there might have been something in the attic, as between 5 and 5.30am I heard noises.
There was a large Lidl store and a few smaller grocery stores near the property. If you're using the bus, make sure you get tickets in town. There is no ticket macines, and shops don't sell them. I was told bus driver doesn't have them all the time either.
Check out is at 12noon. I heard the landlady checking the door to see if I had gone at 09.30, which gave me the impression that they wanted me out. There is several CCTV cameras surveying the property, so they could have used that.
Over all the property was nice for a short stay.
What could be improved: There was no number on the house. It's up a hilly path, half a mile or so from the bus stop. The bus sometimes didn't stop near the property. The lane up to house is quite rough with square cement blocks. Dark path at night.
