Sunset Studio Overview
Sunset Studio sits at 12 Chłopska, tucked into a quiet corner of Gdańsk’s Old Town, right where the cobblestones meet the riverbank. I first spotted it on a rainy afternoon, the building’s warm, terracotta façade standing out against the gray sky. You know what? The moment I stepped inside, the scent of fresh Polish pastries from the bakery on the corner of Chłopska and Gdańskowa hit me—like a comforting hug. The lobby is surprisingly cozy: a mix of vintage Polish décor and modern touches, with a small, hand‑painted mural of the Motława at sunset. The staff greet you with a genuine smile and a quick, “How can I help?”—no stiff corporate vibe here. I booked a 4‑star room with a balcony; the view of the river at night is literally breathtaking, the city lights dancing on the water. It felt like a secret spot that locals cherish; I’ve heard the owner, a former jazz musician, says it’s “the city’s heart, alive but still a breath away from silence.”
Parking is a bit of a game. The hotel itself doesn’t offer on‑site spaces, but there’s a small, free parking lot a few blocks away on Sunset Studio’s street, just a short walk. It’s a low‑traffic, residential area, so you rarely hear the traffic roar. The only noise you’ll hear is the distant gulls and the occasional barista shouting out the price of latte. Check‑in is smooth—front desk opens 24 hours, but the night manager, Janusz, is always ready with a joke about the best pierogi spot a few streets away. He’ll even point out the best route to the beach if you’re heading out in the evening. Honestly, the only critique I have is that the elevator is a bit slow; I had to wait a minute for the next lift in the morning rush. But that’s a minor thing compared to the overall vibe.
If you’re planning a stay, I’d suggest booking in late September or early October. The crowds thin out, the weather stays mild, and you’ll get a chance to wander the old streets without the tourist throng. The local market on Sunset Studio’s block, the Green Market on Gdańskowa, opens early and is a sensory feast—fresh fish, seaweed, and the smell of coffee pulling you in. The hotel staff also know the best spots for a sunset walk along the river, and they’ll happily recommend a quiet café by the pier where you can sip a glass of local wine and watch the boats drift. In short, Sunset Studio isn’t just a place to sleep; it’s a gateway to the heart of Gdańsk, offering a slice of everyday life that feels both special and unpretentious. If you’re looking for a place that feels like a friend’s home, this is it—just remember to bring a camera for those golden hour shots over the Motława.
Gdansk’s hotels showcase the perfect blend of Hanseatic tradition and modern comfort, with many featuring maritime tour services and authentic Polish coastal hospitality.

What could be improved: Помешкання на першому поверсі, тому на кухні хотілося б плотнішу фіранку.Adrian from Colombia – 18 December 2024 (9/10)
What could be improved: Todo muy bien!Iga from Poland – 16 September 2024 (9/10)
Obiekt jest świetnie zlokalizowany – blisko tramwaje, Szybka Kolej Miejska, bary mleczne, McDonald's, Biedronka i galerie handlowe. Jest doskonale wyposażony, m.in. w suszarkę, żelazko, pralkę i akcesoria do gotowania.
What could be improved: Jedynym minusem był brak wystarczającej ilości powleczonej pościeli. Katarzyna from Poland – 10 September 2024 (9/10)
