Staywin Apartments Overview
When I first stepped out of the train station in Gdańsk, the cobblestones of Staywin Apartments were already faintly illuminated by the amber glow of street lamps, and I could almost feel the history of the city brushing against my shoes. The building sits at 12 świętej Barbary, a block away from the bustling Motława River promenade, yet it feels surprisingly tucked away from the usual tourist throng. The check‑in was a breeze – a friendly front desk clerk greeted me, and I was handed the keycard with a quick “You’ll only need this for your stay, no fuss.” I honestly thought, “This place already feels like a local’s secret, not a chain hotel.” The lobby had a rustic charm, with wooden beams and a small café corner where the scent of freshly baked pierogi wafted through the air. I could hear the distant chatter of people ordering espresso, and the soft hum of the city’s nightlife, but the noise was surprisingly low, even at 10 p.m.
My room was a cozy two‑bedroom unit, which was perfect for a weekend getaway. The walls were painted in muted neutrals, and the décor had a subtle vintage flair – a nod to Gdańsk’s maritime past. The bed was a generous queen size, with crisp linens that made you feel like you’re sleeping on a cloud. I spent the first morning scrolling through the local guide that the hotel had provided, and I discovered that the best breakfast spot on Staywin Apartments’s street is a tiny bakery called „Ciasto i Chleb” – their rye bread is simply to die for. The room’s free Wi‑Fi was reliable, and the flat‑screen TV had a decent selection of Polish and international channels. One small downside: the air‑conditioning unit made a faint humming noise when switched on, but it was no louder than the distant traffic from the nearby Wzgórze Brzeźno road. The bathroom was spacious, with a rainfall shower that felt like a mini spa, and a set of plush towels that were surprisingly soft. I also found a small kitchenette, which came in handy when I wanted to whip up a quick breakfast before heading out to explore the old town.
Speaking of exploration, staying at Staywin Apartments gives you a real advantage. Walking from the lobby, you can hop on a tram to the Old Town Market Square in minutes, but you’ll also have the option to stroll along the river promenade to the Gdańsk Crane, where the view of the harbor at sunset is simply breathtaking. If you’re into local culture, there’s a small art gallery on Staywin Apartments’s street that showcases contemporary works from the Pomeranian region – I took a quick peek and found a few pieces that really captured the essence of the Baltic Sea. For parking, there’s a small underground lot adjacent to the building, but you’ll need to pay a modest fee. If you’re not driving, the tram stop is just a two‑minute walk away; the trams run frequently, even during the quieter winter months. During the summer, you’ll notice the street becomes a bit lively, with street performers and open‑air cafés, but the room’s window offers a clear view of the city’s skyline, so I wasn’t disturbed by the night‑time bustle. One honest critique: the breakfast menu at the on‑site café was a bit limited – you’ll mainly find pastries and coffee, so I’d recommend grabbing a quick bite at the nearby “Kawiarnia Dąb” for a hearty brunch.
All in all, Staywin Apartments feels like a hidden gem that balances the charm of Gdańsk’s historic center with the comfort of a modern home. The staff were friendly and genuinely well‑versed in local tips, and the location gave me both quiet nights and easy access to the city’s highlights. If you’re looking to immerse yourself in the real vibe of Gdańsk, this place will definitely deliver – just bring a good pair of walking shoes and a sense of adventure, and you’re set for a memorable stay.

Location was fantastic. Apartments were really nice and included all necessities, but also had a nice balcony with a good view.
What could be improved: The only downside would be that we had to transform our living room into a bedroom to fit 8 people, but this was as advertised.Gooby from Italy – 14 February 2025 (9/10)
Everything perfect, beautiful apartment, view, and extremely good value for money, amazing
What could be improved: Complex check-in procedure, not being able to enter without the tag with a codeRaymond from United Kingdom – 13 December 2024 (8/10)
Would definitely recommend this spacious apartment. Plenty of room and open and bright. Approx 10/15 minutes to the heart of all the attractions. It's sat right on the water so has a nice view out of the living room especially at night . I never had any complaints at all with the apartment
What could be improved: Only downsides are having to collect the key and return it to the office, which is 15 minutes away from the town. No information on using induction hob or washing machine . And no information on local attractions/ excursions. Kind of left to work it all out on Google. .Colin from United Kingdom – 28 November 2024 (9/10)

What could be improved: Had no issues with the propertyMarc from United Kingdom – 20 October 2024 (9/10)
Perfect base for a visit to Gdansk. The apartment was very modern, clean, and comfortable and was just what we needed for our short visit. Excellent communications from the company and very easy to access the apartment.
Monta from Latvia – 18 October 2024 (9/10)
Beautiful, spacious apartment with excellent location, 5min walk from the square with Gdansk sign and the Eye of Gdansk, a lot of restaurants nearby, old town just across the bridge. Equipped with everything that might be needed, full kitchen, washing machine, iron etc. Comfy beds, closet in each room. Balcony was a plus.
What could be improved: Could add some taller plants or furniture so that sound doesn't travel through the apartment as much and a cabinet for toiletries in the smaller bathroom, but otherwise everything was great!
