Six Suites, Old Town Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to Six Suites, Old Town on Kołodziejska Street, you immediately get that “hidden gem” feeling — it’s tucked into one of those charming cobblestone streets that make Gdańsk’s Old Town so special. The building itself has this understated elegance that fits perfectly with the historic neighborhood, and honestly, the location couldn’t be better. You’re literally steps away from the Main Town Hall and St. Mary’s Church, but somehow it feels peaceful rather than touristy.

The Heart of Historic Gdańsk

What I love about this spot is how you can walk to everything that matters in Old Town — the Neptune Fountain, Long Market, those incredible colorful townhouses along the Motława River. The four-star property sits right where locals actually live and work, not just in some sanitized tourist bubble. You know what’s great? You can grab morning coffee from one of the little cafés nearby and watch the city wake up, then be at the Maritime Museum or Amber Museum in under five minutes.

The Suites Experience

Each room here is actually a proper suite, which makes a huge difference when you’re staying more than a night or two. The spaces feel residential rather than hotel-like — think exposed brick, modern furnishings that don’t try too hard, and windows that frame those gorgeous Old Town views. The kitchen setup is particularly smart; it’s not just a mini-fridge and microwave situation, but actual cooking space if you want to pick up ingredients from the local market.

Local Insights

The staff here really knows their stuff about Gdańsk, and I mean beyond the obvious tourist spots. They’ll point you toward the best pierogi place (it’s not where you’d expect), or tell you when the crowds thin out at the major attractions. Parking can be tricky in Old Town generally, but they’ve got solutions worked out that actually make sense. The building maintains that historic character while giving you all the modern comforts — good Wi-Fi, proper heating, bathrooms that work like they should.

Why Guests Love It

Couples especially seem to fall for this place, and I get it — there’s something romantic about staying in the actual heart of one of Europe’s most beautiful historic districts. The 8.6 rating reflects what you experience: it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in town, but it delivers exactly what you want from a Gdańsk stay. You wake up in the middle of centuries-old architecture, you can explore everything on foot, and you return each evening to a space that feels like a temporary home rather than just another hotel room. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to extend your stay by a day or two.

Reviews of Six Suites, Old Town

  • Nointer from Russia – 5 June 2025 (9/10)

Amazing situation, just in the heart of the city. The apartment was clean, warm and comfy, and I found everything I needed. I got good explanation how to get the apartment. In the morning its quite easy to find places to eat, just the next door there is the buffet breakfast of another hotel, opens at 7 am. Along street I found another two places open for early breakfast.

    Location

    What could be improved: Nothing

  • Ann-kristin from Germany – 22 April 2025 (9/10)

Very nicely decorated and cozy in the heart of Gdansk. No staff of site, but very friendly and helpful service via messenger. I've stayed here many times and will do so again, absolutely recommend!

What could be improved: If you have issues walking up steep stairs, this place might not be right for you. The hotel is from the first floor upward, and the stair flights are extremely steep and narrow. No problem for me, but others might find it hard to maneuver up the stairs with luggage.

Otherwise, the water cooker was a bit dirty, apparently someone tried to cook something inside, the stains of uncertain origin remain and I didn't feel comfortable using it. But overall, a great experience as always.

  • Harry from United Kingdom – 3 April 2025 (9/10)

Was a clean, fresh and bright room! Bed was comfortable, shower was powerful and worked perfectly.

  • Lucia from Italy – 25 March 2025 (8/10)

Everything went well and the room was cute and had all we needed for our stay

What could be improved: I would not recommend staying here if stairs are challenging for you, or if you can’t handle the noise outside. Of course these points are out of the aparthotel’s control but just beware of that.

I spilled a few drops of coffee on my bedsheets but they were not changed unfortunately…

  • Magdalena from United Kingdom – 19 March 2025 (9/10)

    Cleanliness, location, easy access

What could be improved: Thin ceilings so you can hear neighbors upstairs

  • Slawomir from United Kingdom – 19 March 2025 (9/10)

Location, value, quality, cleanliness, I will come back definitely

What could be improved: Nothing I can think about, all was brilliant!

  • Nolex from Poland – 2 March 2025 (9/10)

Location, easy check-in, nice bedroom, free water 🙂

What could be improved: The drain in the sink is a bit strange, I didn't understand how it works 🙂

  • Paschal from Iceland – 24 February 2025 (9/10)

Centrally located good proximity to lots of things

What could be improved: Depending on the room, it can be a long walk up the stairs

  • Mariana from Sweden – 16 February 2025 (8/10)

Perfect location for us, close to Forum for some shopping and a really good location in old town

    What could be improved: Nothing
