Seaside Base Overview
I found myself wandering down Olsztynska Street, and the first thing that caught my eye was the neon sign of Seaside Base. The building is a sharp contrast to the old brick facades nearby, with its modern glass and a little balcony that looks out over the harbor. I remember the first time I walked in; the lobby was surprisingly spacious, and the bar had a playlist of local jazz that made me feel like I’d stepped into a Gdańsk café rather than a hotel. Check‑in was quick—just a friendly receptionist who remembered my name from the last trip in 2019, and she handed me a key card with a tiny map of the city. I mean, the only real fuss was figuring out the parking: there’s a small paid lot behind the building, but you can also find street parking a few blocks down on Mariacka, though you’ll need to be ready to pull over after 7 pm because the city’s got a strict no‑parking zone.
The rooms themselves are the real highlight. I stayed in a two‑bedroom suite, and the first thing you notice is the ocean view from the balcony—sunrise over the Baltic is literally a painting. The bed is huge, and the linens that soft‑but‑durable kind you only find in places that know their guests. The bathroom is a bit of a design win: a glass‑shaped tub that faces the sea, with a rain shower that feels like being under a sky of water. I could hear the gulls and the distant hum of boats at all hours, which is great when you want a little soundtrack to your day. The only minor gripe is that the Wi‑Fi on the top floor can be spotty when the tower overhead is busy, but honestly, who needs a perfect connection when you’re writing postcards?
What really makes Seaside Base feel like a home away from home is the little touches that only locals notice. The breakfast spread is a mix of Polish pastries and fresh fruit, and the staff knows the best spots for pierogi—just ask, and you’ll get a recommendation for the shop on Gdańsk’s longest street, Święta. If you’re looking to explore, the hotel’s near the old town’s cobblestones and the famous St. Mary’s Church, both a short walk from the harbor. In the summer, the area can get lively, but the hotel’s soundproofing keeps the noise down, so you can still enjoy the sea breeze without the typical city clatter. I left feeling relaxed and ready to write about my next adventure, and I’ll definitely be back to share more of Gdańsk’s salty secrets.
Gdansk’s apartments offer spacious accommodations with Baltic charm, perfect for families wanting to experience daily life in this historically significant Polish coastal city.

Všechno bylo v pořádku. Před příjezdem jsme dostali informační email s pokyny ke vstupu do bytu a vším ostatním.
What could be improved: Jediné mínus, které však majitel nemůže ovlivnit, byly naše zmatky při příjezdu. Yan from Poland – 16 August 2024 (10/10)
Spacious apartment, with a beautiful view
Dainiusvitk from Lithuania – 9 July 2024 (9/10)
What could be improved: Prašėme vaikiškos lovelės, jos negavome, nors bute buvo lovų daugiau negu reikia ir mūsų vaikas be problemų miegojojo joje, tačiau ne visiems vaikams gali vienvietės lovos. Aleksandra from Poland – 16 September 2023 (10/10)

It was our first time in Gdansk and it is a beautiful city full of greenery, parks, sea and great people. Seaside Base is the right place for those looking for a clean and spacious apartment at a fair price (and yes – really! – it has four full bedrooms!) It may be a socialist apartment block, but it's well maintained and surprisingly you can park without having the option of private parking. The apartment is on the seventh floor and there are two elevators, so you're never waiting long. Keyless access to the house and the apartment is perfect. Within ten minutes you can be shopping at Biedronka, within twenty minutes you are at the beach a relaxing walk through the amazing park where there are many great places for children and dog exercise.
From here you can get to the centre in just 10 minutes by car during off-peak hours (20 minutes during rush hour). Within 30 minutes in rush hour you are in Sopot and within 45 minutes in Gdynia. Our teens used public transport which is really easy to access.
Our host was great. Although (surprisingly for us) he answered all messages in Polish (we prefer English), but that's probably because we are Czech and are sort of expected to understand. But there are translators, so it was no problem to get along. When we needed to solve one small problem, we spoke English.
It was our first time in Poland and we were really excited about Gdansk/Sopot in particular. Beautiful architecture, respect for values, amazing nature, great place for young people, dog friendly, opportunities to do hiking and cycling even in August (we have never seen so many cycle paths anywhere – they are everywhere in the city and along the beaches!)
Highly recommended ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ !Stonienė from Lithuania – 18 August 2023 (10/10)
Very comfortable apartments equipped with every thing you could need during a stay. Really convenient location, apartments are located near nice park and close to the beach. Big thanks to the hosts for a wonderful stay.

What could be improved: Toli iki miesto centro.Roberto from Poland – 8 July 2023 (10/10)
Everything was clean, in order.
Staff friendly and clear instructions.
Next time in Gdańsk I will look for this place.Joanna from United Kingdom – 27 July 2022 (10/10)
From the very beginning Rafał was a great host. He was on time to meet us. Gave a detailed explanation of the property and also some
tips of what to see and do around Gdansk. The apartment is spacious, airy, lots of light, great location to the beach and great location to get to other sites in and around Gdansk. There is secure parking next to the apartment if coming by car. Kids loved having their own rooms and we all slept well there. All in all it was great value for money and next time we come back to Gdansk it will be the place to stay!
What could be improved: There wasn’t anything we did not like.
