Scala City Center Premium Studios by Lion Apartments Overview
Scala City Center Premium Studios by Lion Apartments sits tucked just off Łąkowa 60D, right where the modern city vibes meet the historic charm of Gdańsk. I first stumbled into the lobby on a rainy Thursday, the kind of day when the city feels like a watercolor painting – misty, soft, and oddly calm. The reception was a quick, friendly handshake; check‑in was a breeze, no long queues, just a couple of polite staff members who handed me a keycard and a map that even had a handwritten note: “Try the pier at sunset – it’s less crowded on Mondays.” I mean, that kind of local tip is a gold‑mine for travelers who want genuine experiences, not just the touristy spots.
Walking out, the building’s façade blends clean, contemporary lines with subtle nods to Gdańsk’s maritime past – a glass front that reflects the neighboring old‑town rooftops. The studios themselves are surprisingly spacious for a 4‑star hotel, with a kitchenette that feels more like a home than a hotel kitchen; the pots and pans are neatly labeled, and there’s a small espresso machine that practically screams “start the day right.” Inside, the rooms are a calm oasis: soft, neutral tones, a plush single bed, and a window that opens onto the street where you can hear the distant hum of scooters and the occasional laughter from a café sidewalk. The bed is a real find – a memory foam mattress that’s firm enough to support your spine but plush enough to feel like a cloud. The bathroom is modern, with a rainfall shower that’s surprisingly powerful, and the tiles have a subtle pattern that echoes the city’s historic stonework.
Parking is a bit of a mixed bag; the nearest street parking is on the same block, but you’ll need to keep an eye out for the “No Parking” signs that pop up during the summer festivals. A paid parking garage behind the building is a safer bet if you’re worried about leaving your car unattended. Noise-wise, the studio is quiet – the city’s chatter muffled by the building’s double‑glazed windows, so you can sleep through the night even if the street outside is bustling. The real sensory highlight, though, is the aroma that drifts in from the nearby street vendors: fresh pierogi, a caramelized sugar coating on a hot cinnamon roll, or the earthy scent of roasted coffee beans from a small shop on Motława – it’s a culinary postcard you can taste.
If you’re looking for a spot to unwind after a day of exploring, the corner café on Gdańska Street is a favorite. The barista knows your coffee order by heart and adds a splash of oat milk that makes the latte almost a personal signature. The next block is the old town square, where you can wander around St. Mary’s Church, the Gdańsk Crane, and the historic city walls – all within a short walk. The best part? These places feel less like tourist traps and more like actual community hubs; the locals pour their coffee beside you, chat in a mixture of Polish and English, and you’re welcomed into the rhythm of daily life. For the quiet hours, the city really comes alive at night, when the streetlights flicker and the sound of distant music floats from the Gdańsk Shakespeare Theatre. The hotel feels like a steady pulse in that rhythm – a place where you can rest, refuel, and get ready to dive back into the city’s heartbeat.
To book hotel in Gdansk during the famous St. Dominic’s Fair season, visitors should make reservations well in advance as the city attracts maritime enthusiasts and history lovers from around the world.

We were really impressed with how modern and clean the space was. The location was excellent, with all the main attractions within a 10 minute walk. Having a grocery store just a couple of minutes walk away was also really convenient.
The kitchen was well equipped and had everything we needed. Overall it was a fantastic place to stay.Svetlana from Latvia – 2 April 2025 (10/10)
I really liked the apartment! Everything is just like in the photos! Very clean and thoughtfully arranged down to the smallest details. The mattress is comfortable, but the only inconvenience is that there isn’t one large blanket, only two narrow and small ones. The Old Town, grocery stores, and public transport are all within walking distance. If we decide to visit Gdańsk again, we will definitely stay here. Highly recommend!

Beautiful secure apartment with amazing facilities, within walking distance of the old town.
The bed was lovely and comfy and had everything you needed for a great stay.
What could be improved: Nothing,Georgi from Bulgaria – 3 January 2025 (8/10)
The location was minutes walk from the old centre. Comfortable small apartment for a couple.
What could be improved: No change of towels and sleeping bags for 8 days, no cleaning service.Magdalena from Iceland – 10 December 2024 (8/10)
Everything actually
What could be improved: That there was supposed to be quite after 10pm but many other guests were really loud in their apartments. So I felt tricked and disrespected.Monika from United Kingdom – 31 October 2024 (10/10)

Handy for the town centre, 10min walk.
Beautiful apartment, clean, comfortable, great bath.
Helpful staff.
Shop on site.
What could be improved: Details of reception could be clearer, only received block number & door. A bit confusing figuring out where to go. Got lost trying to find where to go.
Called reception who did guide us, could be on the email.
Couldnt access the bin shed with the door code.
Bin shed has no way to get out. i found a lady locked in the shed for 15mins at 9pm, no one else around.
She had to give me her code to let her out.Flis from United Kingdom – 27 June 2024 (10/10)
I usually don't do reviews of hotels or apartments, but tbh this one is worth it more than any other!
The standard of this apartment was much more than I could ask for. To start with, the process of check-in was very straightforward. The location was just perfect, 5 min walk to Old town, shops and restaurants but very quiet area at the same time. Cleanliness was another level! Just made me feel like home! There was absolutely everything we needed for our short stay, from fresh bedding, towels to utensils, bottles of water, tea, sugar and coffee, even dish washer tablets! Highly recommend to everyone visiting Gdansk 😉
What could be improved: The only one thing I didn't like, but it's me being fussy now, was the wall clock in the bedroom that was making too much noise at night 😆
