Rudy Kot Overview
Rudy Kot is tucked into a quiet corner of Gdańsk, just a stone’s throw from the cobbled lanes of the Old Town and the gentle sway of the Motława River. I first spotted the building as I was walking down Garncarska, the street that never seems to get too busy even on the busiest Saturdays. The check‑in was surprisingly smooth – the front desk staff were friendly, and the digital key system worked like a charm, even if the paper map on the wall looked a little dated (I mean, who needs a map in 2025?). They handed me a small card with the local coffee shop and a couple of parking stickers, which was a relief because I was worried about finding a spot for my rental car. The lobby itself has that industrial chic vibe you see in many European hotels, but with a warm touch – a worn leather armchair that actually feels like a hug.
The rooms are a mix of understated elegance and practical comfort. My suite had a tiny balcony that looked over the marina; the sound of gulls and the faint creak of wooden docks set a surprisingly peaceful backdrop, especially at 8 p.m. when the city lights start to flicker on. The bed was plush, but I noticed the sheets could use a little more crispness – a minor hiccup in an otherwise stellar 4‑star experience. The bathroom was a bit on the small side, but the shower had a strong, invigorating spray that made the whole space feel spa‑like. The noise from the nearby street was minimal, thanks to well‑sealed windows, so I slept soundly even though the city was still alive outside. Parking was convenient; there’s a small underground lot right next to the hotel that’s free for the first two hours, which is great if you’re planning a quick trip to the nearby St. Mary’s Church.
Honestly, the real charm of Rudy Kot is how it blends into the neighborhood without pretension. After breakfast, I strolled down to the fish market on St. Marii Street, where the smell of fresh cod and the chatter of vendors made me feel like I was part of the local rhythm. Later, I found a quiet corner in a corner cafe on Gdańsk’s main square, sipping a latte and watching the city transition from day to night. The hotel’s timing is perfect for both early‑morning travelers and those who want to be out late – the staff are friendly throughout, and the elevators never get stuck. The only small critique I have is that the Wi‑Fi is decent but not lightning fast, but that’s a minor annoyance compared to the overall experience. If you’re looking for a place that feels like a home base yet offers that subtle luxury you’d expect from a 4‑star rating, Rudy Kot is a solid pick. You know what, I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in Gdańsk, and I’ll bring my friend along for the next visit.

The apartment is beautiful. Exceptionally high standard of design, with such care and attention to detail. It's super clean and comfortable. It's equipped with everything you need in a perfect location – close to everything without being right in the busy, noisy tourist area. Nice communication with the owner. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again.

This is an extraordinarily nice flat with top level equipment, carefully chosen decoration, two very good double-beds, a nice living room / kitchen and a comfortable bathroom. Silent at night, nice bats and restaurants immediately close, very nice area, very central but not directly on the tourists toute. The landlord was nice, everything well organised.
What could be improved: I could stay only two nights, I'd have loved to stay longer.Jason from United Kingdom – 3 October 2024 (10/10)

Everything, actually. The place was very clean and tidy and exceptionally well located. A few minutes walk from the station and a few minutes walk to the old town. We did not meet the owner but he responded to our messages very quickly and very accommodating. I would love to stay here again and for longer.
