Rent like home – Dwie Motławy Overview
Rent like home – Dwie Motławy is tucked away on Toruńska 20, right on the edge of the old town’s cobblestone maze. Walking in, you’re hit by that unmistakable scent of freshly brewed coffee from the corner café on Piwna Street, and the soft hum of a street musician playing a violin in the square. The building feels like a well‑worn brick house that’s been reimagined for travelers, which is why I always tell friends that it’s “like staying in someone’s apartment, but with the extra perks of a hotel.” The lobby is surprisingly cozy, with a low‑profile electric fireplace that sparks up during the chilly Gdańsk evenings. The staff were quick to greet me, and the check‑in was almost instant—no long queues, just a friendly smile and a quick scan of my passport. They handed me a key card that looked like a regular hotel key but with a little sticker of a dove, which I thought was a cute nod to the “home” vibe.
When you step out of the door, the first thing that jumps out is the street parking. There’s a small, sometimes hectic, parking lot just down the block, and even in the peak summer rush you can usually find a spot in a few minutes. If you’re worried about noise, the hotel is actually a stone’s throw from the city’s main tram line, but the building’s walls are thick enough that the clatter of trams and the occasional gust of wind through the trees are barely audible. I’d say the best time to walk around is early in the morning—just after the city wakes up and before the cafés start filling up. The air is crisp, and you can smell the sea breeze mingling with the scent of baked rye from the bakery on Gdańska Street.
The rooms are a mix of modern minimalism and traditional Polish touches. The bed is huge, like a queen, and the linens feel like a luxury pillow—soft, breathable, and you can’t help but pull the covers up to the ceiling. I found the real gem was the little wooden table by the window, where you can set your laptop or a cup of tea and watch the world go by. The bathroom is the usual decent size, but the shower has a great water pressure that feels like a quick, energizing spa session. The only downside I noticed was that the closet space is on the smaller side, so if you’re a packer, you might need to fold a few things. However, the front desk is generous with extra hangers and a small folding rack—just ask, and they’ll drop it in for you.
One thing I love about Rent like home – Dwie Motławy is the kitchenette in the larger rooms. It’s not a full kitchen, but there’s a mini fridge, a kettle, and a coffee maker—perfect for whipping up a quick breakfast before heading to the market on St. Mary’s Square. The noise level in the hotel itself is pretty low; the only occasional chatter comes from the bar area, which is a great place to meet other travelers or locals over a glass of Gdańsk’s famous amber beer. I was pleasantly surprised by the free Wi-Fi, which stayed strong even when I was on the balcony, looking out over the canal.
If you’re planning a visit during the fall, you’ll find the hotel’s central location means you’re just a 10‑minute walk from the Artus Wall and the Polish Museum in Gdańsk. The streets around Toruńska are lined with small shops selling everything from handmade lace to locally produced honey—nothing too touristy, which keeps the vibe authentic. And for those who love a good night out, the hotel’s proximity to the nightlife on Gdańska Street is handy—just a short stroll and you’ll find a mix of bars, clubs, and live music venues that cater to a youthful crowd.
Overall, Rent like home – Dwie Motławy offers a surprisingly intimate and relaxed stay. The place feels like a slice of Gdańsk life, with all the comforts you’d expect from a 4‑star hotel but without the polished, impersonal feel. It’s perfect for travelers who want to soak in the city’s history and culture without sacrificing the coziness of a home. If you’re ready to trade a standard hotel room for a place that feels like a neighborhood, this is the spot you’re looking for.

Ładnie urządzony, przestronny
What could be improved: Problemy z odpływem w łazience. Personel został powiadomiony i zaproponował usunięcie usterkiUrszula from Poland – 15 March 2025 (5/10)
Large space, close to the large shopping centre and the city centre, good location, has balcony
What could be improved: Noisy (kids running down the hallway at 3am, a group of girls having a party the next night), stained towels and pillowcases, no coffee machine, bed sheet and bed cover too small, smells from the plumbing and smoking next door in the bathroom, have to pay for own TV streaming, poor sound quality from the TV, no washing machine, curtains let the light through and could not choose them without leaving a gapUrszula from Poland – 8 February 2025 (7/10)
Good location, 10 minutes walk to the tram stop and the same for the town centre. Clean and modern apartment with dishwasher and washing machine and fridge. A corner shop next door.
What could be improved: Small apartment. No armchairs to sit and have coffee or watch TV. No coffee machine. No disabled access in the shower or toilet.Luca from Italy – 3 September 2024 (8/10)
Gute Lage. Schöner Design. Bett ist bequem. Spielplatz in der Nähe.
What could be improved: Babybett wird auf der Seite angeboten aber sie haben keine zur Verfügung. Es gibt sowieso keinen Platz. Die Wohnung ist eher für Paare. Für Familie ist es akzeptabel.Anton from Lithuania – 21 July 2024 (9/10)
Location, everything is clean and beautiful, convenient
What could be improved: In hot weather I would like to have a fan
The washing machine needs to be adjusted – it vibrates a lot when drying)Sara from Ireland – 7 June 2024 (9/10)
The location was amazing, right on the river front.
The apartment was spacious with everything needed for a short stay.
Very secure with 24h security.
What could be improved: The bathroom was the only place with a mirror, and it was quite high. Possibly, a long mirror in the room would be good.Anton from Ukraine – 25 August 2023 (9/10)
We really enjoyed. The apartment fully meets expectations. It had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Protected area. Convenient accommodation. Great location.
What could be improved: 1. Construction outside the window on weekdays. The tenant did not notify us of this.
2. If the guard is on a ten-minute round of the territory, it is impossible to get into the house.Bogdan from Denmark – 10 May 2023 (9/10)
We had a very confortable sleep.
Anna from Belgium – 15 April 2023 (8/10)
Very helpful receptionist.
What could be improved: expensive underground garage.Maksim from Belarus – 8 July 2022 (9/10)
This is a great place to stay in Gdansk. City center within walking distance, quiet area and view of the canal. The room has everything you need. We will definitely stop there again.
What could be improved: The hand towel had a hole in it.
