Prawdzic Family Resort & Wellness Overview

When I first stepped onto Ul. Piastowska 198, the salty breeze of the Baltic was already knocking on the window, and I could feel the city’s heartbeat pulsing in the distance. Prawdzic Family Resort & Wellness had that understated charm of a family‑owned place that’s been in the family for decades – you could almost hear the creak of the old wooden beams in the lobby, and the scent of freshly brewed coffee mingled with the faint hint of seaweed from the nearby beach. The check‑in was quick and friendly, no long lines, just a warm smile from a young receptionist who knew the street by heart and handed me a key with a wink. Parking was a breeze too – there’s a little lot right across the street, and the staff even offered a small discount if you’re staying more than a week, which was a nice touch for the long‑term stays.

The rooms are the kind of cozy spaces where you can actually relax, you know? I booked a standard suite and the first thing I noticed was the large window that frames the whole Stogi district skyline – the waves, the gulls, the distant boats. The bedding was plush, but not too over‑stuffed, and there was a small balcony with a table where I could sit and sip my coffee while listening to the gulls call. I had to admit, the noise from the street at night can be a bit jarring – there’s a lively bar on Piastowska that’s great during the day, but the bass drops in the evenings, so if you’re a light sleeper, maybe book a room further from the main road. The spa is a highlight – the sauna feels like a wooden hug, and the massage room smells like eucalyptus and cedar. I had a 30‑minute massage that left my back feeling like it was on a cloud, honestly. The breakfast spread was a bit of a local secret – a stand outside the hotel serves homemade pierogi and a strong Polish coffee that’s stronger than your usual tourist spots.

The restaurant at Prawdzic Family Resort & Wellness is a hidden gem. They serve fresh catch from the harbor and seasonal vegetables that you can actually taste the earth in. The chef – a lanky guy named Marek – takes pride in his dishes, and he even offers a quick tour of the kitchen if you ask, which was a fun side note to my meal. The seating is casual, with wooden tables and a view of the pier, so you can watch the fishermen unload their nets while you dine. The only critique is that the dessert menu is a bit limited, but you can always order a coffee and a slice of their homemade cake, which is delicious. I found that visiting in late spring or early autumn is the best – the crowds thin out, the sea is still warm enough for a walk, and the hotel staff is even more friendly when it’s not a rush.

All in all, I’d say Prawdzic Family Resort & Wellness is a great spot if you want something that feels like a home away from home but still close to the action. The blend of local flavor, genuine hospitality, and a few well‑chosen amenities makes it a solid choice for a relaxed getaway. Just be mindful of the parking fee if you’re driving a car, and maybe book a room a bit farther from the main road if you’re a light sleeper. It’s not a place that will brag about being top‑tier, but it offers a real, unfiltered slice of Gdańsk that you won’t find on any glossy brochure.

Very convenient to the beach and to restaurants. Beds were comfortable and the room was very clean. The saunas were very relaxing. Staff was friendly and very welcoming. The breakfast buffet was extensive and had a lot of great options.

What could be improved: I do wish the saunas were open earlier as well. If you are taking public transportation, I recommend using the tram instead of the bus. The bus lines to the hotel are not reliable.

  • Ryszard from Poland – 28 January 2023 (7/10)

3 stars hotel but you feel like a 4 stars.
Breakfast good , whatever you like , apart of orange juice which was rather colored water.

What could be improved: Missing safety box , one of the night lights does not work , shower door doesn’t work correctly. Orange juice was not tasty at all.

We lived in Gdansk several years ago close to the park and see. So wanted to find a location close to places we lived and we stayed in this hotel. It is great located – very close to see and to the park itself. Easy to reach by car and easy to park car, clean room with everything you need, inside swimming pool which is opened till 9pm, restaurant which is open till 10pm, breakfast was included. Very nice, polite and caring personnel. I've asked for additional bathrobe for my son and got it in 5 minutes.

What could be improved: The portion of food in restaurant were giant however food can be a bit more tasty.

  • Thais from United Kingdom – 31 July 2022 (9/10)

great location for going to beach, the hotel service is really trying do their best to make your holiday very good and the breakfast was splendid, even less option for vegetarian or vegan but still a lot to choose and have great begging of the day.

What could be improved: butter served on breakfast in a small plastic boxes and small bottles of water in rooms – is it not old fashioned? lets drink tap water and safe some sources
