Walking out of the lobby, the street sounds of the Old Town – clacking shoes on stone, distant bells, a barista shouting the day’s specials – enveloped me. I could smell the fresh bread from the bakery on Gruszczyńska and the sea breeze mixing with the scent of damp timber from the old warehouses. Parking is a bit of a challenge; there’s a small paid lot a block away, but the hotel offers a complimentary valet service if you’re willing to pay a small fee (they say it’s worth it for the convenience). The building itself is a charming 4‑star brick façade, and once you step inside, the lobby feels like a quiet sanctuary with a fireplace that keeps the room warm in December.

The rooms at Platinium Ogarna Old Town are surprisingly cozy. I stayed in a double suite with a balcony that looks out over the winding lanes of the Old Town Market Square. The bed was a bit firm – a favorite of mine – and the linens had a subtle, almost citrusy scent, which I think is a deliberate touch by the housekeeping team. The bathroom is modern, with a rain shower that’s louder than you’d expect, but it’s a nice change from the steam‑viscous showers you find in some older lodging. The Wi‑Fi is dependable, though I noticed that the signal drops slightly near the historic clock tower; maybe they’ll upgrade that soon. I appreciated that the minibar was stocked with local craft beer; a pint of Żywiec on the nightstand was a small, but delightful indulgence.

Food-wise, the hotel has its own little bistro, but I’d recommend heading to the street-side café on Karmelicka to get that authentic pierogi breakfast. If you’re staying during the summer festival season, the noise level can rise – the square comes alive with music and chatter – but the rooms remain quiet, so you can sleep through the whole night. I found that the best time to visit is early spring or late autumn; the city is less crowded, the streets are less slick, and you can walk to the pier and watch the sun dip over the Baltic without the crowds of July. My only critique is that the hotel’s elevator is a bit old‑school and can be slow in the mornings when everyone’s scrambling to get to the conference rooms. Still, the overall vibe is genuinely warm and welcoming, and I’ve already told a few friends to book a stay at Platinium Ogarna Old Town for their next trip to Gdańsk.

  We know the city well and knew that it would be very good location. Nice and clean flat.
  
  What could be improved: We had no hot water and took cold (Lukewarm at best) showers for four days. Practical basic information about where to dispose of litter, cans, glass and such would have been nice.

  Location and value for money excellent. A cosy home away from home in the heart of the old town of Gdansk. No issue with entry, all advised well ahead of time. We had a comfortable 3 night stay, underfloor heating was an added bonus!!
  
  What could be improved: Couch could do with a clean, breakfast was supposed to be included in the booking and never arrived on any morning. Reported it and was told to grab breakfast locally and keep receipts. A 3rd party catering company so don't know what happened. Bit of a pain having to get up and go out for breakfast.

  Location was perfect to explore the city. Host was friendly. We had difficulties with main door while checking in (the screen where you should enter the code said ”error”) but host answered my call right away and sent help quite soon. There was a small kiosk right outside the apartment and cute little bakery right around the corner. Apartment was clean and tidy except the sofabed.
  
  What could be improved: Sofa was extremely dirty and wasn’t really temptating to sleep on all that dirt. Otherwise the apartment was quite clean. We were promised to have two towels per person, but there were only one for each. Also was promised to have shampoo/etc in the apartment but there were only travel sized shower gels which wasnt quite enough for 5 days for three people. We ran out of toiletpaper as well. As I paid approx 440€ for 4 nights in Gdansk you would think these faults didnt exist.

  Amazing location with everything nearby. Lovely clean flat with modern appliances and facilities.
  
  What could be improved: The radiator in the kitchen/living room didn't seem to be working, but that could be because we couldn't figure out how to use it.

  We liked the location very much. Accessible for the transportation also for the attractions. Supermarkets are nearby, you need it for sure to buy some basic stuffs you use it for everyday.

  Nice and clean apartment middle of everything. As like in pictures. Washing machine for laundry (nice option during our 2 weeks travel).
  
  What could be improved: No owen mittens (we used towel from bathroom to take food off), no teatowels, toilet paper (really thin) 1,5 roll for 1 adult and 3 teenagers for 5 nights wasn't enough. Sheets didn't stay on sofa where you didn't know which way to sleep.
