Peperino Overview
Peperino sits on Al. gen. J. Hallera, right where the bustling market street meets the calm of Brzezno’s quieter lanes. I remember stepping off the tram at Al. J. Hallera and the first thing that caught my eye was the warm glow from the windows—like a secret inviting you in. The check‑in was surprisingly smooth; the staff had a quick smile and handed me a key card with a quiet “enjoy your stay” that felt more like a friendly nod than a scripted greeting. Parking is a breeze, too—there’s a small, paid lot just a block away that’s always free of the city‑center chaos, and the streets run straight to the lobby, so you can grab your bags and be inside in minutes.
Later, I unpacked into a room that was as cozy as a Gdańsk‑bistro couch. The bed was seriously comfy, with that kind of down you’d only find in a well‑maintained 4‑star place. I tried the minibar— the local craft beer on the shelf was a hit, and the coffee machine brewed a rich espresso that smelled like the city’s own roasted beans. The bathroom was a small spa, with a glass shower that let in the morning light and a fluffy towel that felt like velvet. From the balcony I could hear the distant hum of the harbor, a gentle reminder that you’re still close to the old port, yet the noise stops at the fourth floor—perfect for a good night’s sleep.
After a quick breakfast of rye bread, butter, and a slice of locally cured ham, I decided to step out. Peperino is just a stone’s throw from St. Mary’s Church and the cobblestone lanes of the Old Town, but the real gems are just around the corner—there’s a little bakery on Św. Piotra that sells the best pierogi, and a street café where the barista knows your name after just one visit. I spent a lazy afternoon wandering the harbor, the smell of sea salt mingling with the distant scent of freshly baked bread. The hotel’s quiet evenings, with the city lights flickering in the distance, made the whole experience feel like I’d discovered a hidden part of Gdańsk only a few locals would know.
Honestly, there’s a few tiny quirks: the Wi‑Fi password is printed on a card tucked in the minibar, and the hallway lights can be a bit dim at night, but these are small details that don’t outweigh the genuine charm. The staff are friendly, the rooms are clean, and the location feels both connected and discreet. If you’re looking to stay in Gdańsk with a touch of local flavor and a 4‑star comfort, Peperino is the place that will make you feel at home, and you’ll probably want to come back just to taste that bakery’s pierogi again.

The breakfast was really nice, although not vegan friendly, there was a choice of 3 types of cereal, 4 different cheeses, ham and chicken slices, tomatoes with mozzarella and balsamic, boiled eggs, omelette with bacon, yogurt, bread, butter with jam.
It's very close to the beach, and about a mile from the start of parkrun Gdansk, which you get to on the path parallel to the beach and turn left at exit 58.
What could be improved: The sofa was very firm, the bed was also firm and the pillows were dreadful, there were more in the cupboard. The curtains were so thin they did nothing to block out the light. The shower cubicle was a decent size but the shower head was small and this area was a bit tatty.
The place is a restaurant with accommodation above so expect it to be very noisy until about midnight. I stayed on a Friday and the band that was there (they have live music every Friday) was supposed to finish at 10 and they finished about 11.15pm. However, somewhere else was playing music until 4.20am, I couldn't work out if it was the bar across the square or on the beach. I had no sleep at all, with the noise, the curtains and the bed.
When you eat at the restaurant the food isn't great, their homemade chicken soup was bland, full of noodles and no chicken, it was more of a consommé. The grilled chicken with gnocchi and fresh vegetables didn't look appetising but was edible, but not the most tantalising on the eyes or taste buds (photo attached).
To get access to the room you wait in the restaurant queue, there's no reception so there was a delay at times with trying to get assistance, even when the restaurant was empty.Jan from Sweden – 20 March 2025 (9/10)
Very nice place located right next to the beach. Child-friendly with a large playground out front.
It's possible to order food from the restaurant directly to your room!

Close to the beach and easy to go for a walk. Lots of restaurants around. Staff were all friendly. Breakfast is excellent. It is hard to find a breakfast with so many vegetables.
What could be improved: The room is noisy. Having a refrigerator is convenient, but it is loud. Also, the noise from the air conditioning bothers me.Brenda from Malta – 29 December 2023 (9/10)
