Papillon Apartamenty Gdańsk Overview

Papillon Apartamenty Gdańsk sits right on 4 Grudziądzka, a stone’s throw from the old town’s cobblestones. I first stumbled onto it when I was wandering near the Motława River, the kind of day when the city feels like a living postcard – the scent of fresh pierogi wafting from a stand, the distant chime of bells from St. Mary’s Basilica, and the gentle hum of scooters. The building itself is a neat 4‑star block, modern but with that classic Polish touch – a brass plaque with the hotel’s name, a small garden that looks like it belongs in a European film. The lobby is warm, with a few local artists’ prints on the walls, and the staff are the kind of people who can pull a table at a nearby cafe for you if you need a quick espresso.

When I checked in, the front desk was surprisingly quick; no long queue, just a friendly smile and a quick scan of my passport. The keycard was a bit of a hassle – it didn’t work on my first try, but the attendant was on it, and after a quick tap, I was in. The room was spacious, with floor‑to‑ceiling windows that open onto a quiet street, giving you a view of the old market square – but not so loud that you can’t hear your own thoughts. The bed was a king‑size, and the linens felt like a soft hug. There’s a small kitchenette that’s surprisingly well‑equipped, which saved me a trip to a 24‑hour supermarket. The bathroom is modern, with a rain shower that’s a little too powerful – I had to turn down the pressure, but the water feels clean, and the towels are plush.

The noise level is pretty decent; the street is lively at night with locals and tourists mingling, but the hotel’s insulated walls keep the city’s clatter at a whisper. Parking is a bit of a pain – there’s a small underground lot, but you’ll have to pay and it’s a bit of a walk to the entrance. The best part, though, is the location: a short 10‑minute walk to the old town, the amber coast, and the ferry to Westerplatte. I remember stepping out one evening, the sky turning a deep navy, and the air smelling faintly of sea salt and roasted chestnuts from a nearby stall – a perfect end to a day of exploring. If you’re looking for a comfortable, well‑located spot in Gdańsk that’s not over‑the‑top, Papillon Apartamenty Gdańsk will give you the vibe of a local’s favorite hideaway.

Reviews of Papillon Apartamenty Gdańsk

  • Nastassia from Poland – 10 March 2025 (6/10)

What could be improved: We asked the landlord to extend the apartment until 14:00 in order to check out later (Sunday).

to which we were told categorically no (even for additional payment).
but when we asked to prolong it for a day, they immediately reset their BLIK for payment and agreed.

    what is the logic ?

  • Jaroslaw from United Kingdom – 3 August 2024 (9/10)

Clean, safe, comfortable. Close to Zabka shop and coffee 50m. The second day, find out there are blinds on the bottom of windows as only one farbic curtain is there. All was perfect.

  • Marcel from Poland – 17 June 2024 (9/10)

This was the best apartment I have ever stayed in

What could be improved: Everything was good

  • Sylwiab from Ireland – 23 May 2024 (9/10)

Very well equipped apartment, spacious, clean, elegant, modern. Very nice balcony and Air Conditioning (which is not that obvious). Quiet, clean, safe apartment block. Around the block Żabka, Biedronka, Lidl Markets, great Bakery downstairs, few Pizzerias, Kebab, Italian Restaurant etc. Very convenient!!!!! Close to Zaspa District, 15/20 min walk to Galeria Bałtycka at the Wrzeszcz District. Highly recommend

What could be improved: Pillows were massive but very hard, not comfortable. Please be aware, that CITY TAX is not included in your stay, and should be paid in cash( this info will be given with check in direction

  • Iryna from Poland – 18 September 2023 (7/10)

Looked like they tried to make our stay good

What could be improved: Could have been cleaner. If you want to use kettle just don’t. It had a lot more of white residue from boiling. See pictures how water from kettle looks like. The owner was quite rude

  • Eunice from Poland – 5 July 2023 (9/10)

Property is ok and it’s beautiful.

What could be improved: There was no any socket close to bed where one can change the phone ,or either how to work on with a laptop, I had to charge my phone in the kitchen.
