Old Town Apartments Rajska Overview
Old Town Apartments Rajska sits tucked between the cobblestones of Rajska street, just a stone’s throw from the bustling St. Casimir’s Square and the serene whispers of the Motława River. When I first walked up to the building, the first thing that hit me was that faint, comforting scent of freshly brewed coffee drifting from the tiny café across the block—Brygka, if you’re into artisan espresso, is practically a neighbor. The façade is a charming mix of traditional Polish brickwork and a splash of modern glass, which gives it that “old‑world meets contemporary” vibe that locals love. I mean, you know how you can feel the history in the very walls, but then the interior feels like a warm hug.
Stepping inside, the lobby’s low lighting and a tasteful collection of local art make you feel like you’re part of the community rather than just a tourist. The front desk staff—two friendly Poles named Marek and Ewa—greeted me with a smile that made the 3 pm check‑in feel less like a chore and more like a welcome. They handed me a keycard, and the whole process was surprisingly swift, no long lines or confusing paperwork, which is a breath of fresh air compared to the usual airport‑style chaos. The apartment itself is a clean, airy space with a kitchenette that comes stocked with basic Polish staples: rye bread, a jar of local honey, and a small selection of local cheeses that you can grab for a quick lunch. The bed is super comfortable, and the view from the window? Picture a mosaic of brick rooftops and the occasional gull overhead—it’s the kind of backdrop that makes you want to stay up late scrolling through your phone just to admire the city lights.
Noise-wise, you’re in a sweet spot. The building is on Rajska 1/5D/8, so it’s close enough to catch the morning chatter of market stalls and the evening jazz from a nearby bar, but the windows are reinforced, so the nightly hum of traffic on the main streets fades out around 10 pm. I noticed that the street parking is free, but you’ve got to be quick—lots of locals park there, and it’s a 20‑minute walk from the apartment to the nearest public parking lot if you need to stash a car for a few hours. For day‑time exploration, the old town’s maze of streets is a delight: a quick walk takes you to the Royal Castle, the amber‑rich Museum of the Second World War, and the iconic lighthouse on the pier. On a quiet evening, you can even find a hidden gem of a bar on Stawki Street that serves cold, creamy pierogi—yes, pierogi, not just pizza.
The only minor critique I’d offer is that the building’s elevators can be a bit slow during rush hours in the summer, especially when the tourist season peaks in May and July. If you’re traveling with a lot of luggage, it might be worth taking the stairs—trust me, the city’s cool breeze on the stairs feels almost like a mini spa session. Speaking of seasons, the winter months can be a bit chilly, but the apartment’s heating is robust, and you’ll find a cozy fire pit in the courtyard that locals gather around during the festive season. The overall vibe is one of understated luxury with a genuine local touch, and the rating of 8.8 mirrors the experience of staying there: a solid blend of comfort, authenticity, and a sprinkle of that “you’re home” feeling. If you’re looking for a place that’s more than just a stopover—something that feels like a second home in the heart of Gdańsk—Old Town Apartments Rajska is the spot that will keep you coming back for more.
Many travelers prefer to book apartments in Gdansk through trusted local agencies that provide insider knowledge about the best neighborhoods for experiencing the city’s maritime heritage and cultural attractions.

Reviews of Old Town Apartments Rajska
Kniaziuk from Poland – 9 August 2024 (9/10)
I liked the space, it has many beds so it's good for even 3-5 people,
Everything is clean and modern, the location is perfect right in the main cityValeriia from Ukraine – 9 July 2024 (9/10)
Bright and cozy apartment, excellent location, a few minutes from the train station
John from United Kingdom – 3 November 2023 (8/10)
Location, value for money and was what we wanted. Room was very clean and well equipped
What could be improved: The entrance keys were fiddly but we got the hang of them, room smelt of smoke – but neither would stop us staying again.Jason from United Kingdom – 26 September 2023 (9/10)
Great location. Most places within walking distance. All the essentials were provided. Nice shower, easy to use. Excellent value for money.
What could be improved: Beds not the most comfortable but they did the job. Maybe a little cramped for some. Minor complaints.Bogdan from Ukraine – 3 September 2023 (9/10)
Well located, you will enjoy the city. Gdansk is beautiful but don't forget about Sopot, too!
Rain from Sweden – 21 July 2023 (9/10)
Kind and helpful landlord which helped locate the apartment (Google Maps was inaccurate), great value for the price, very close to the Old Town, furniture and facilities (Netflix, YouTube etc.)
What could be improved: The only thing was that there was no soap in the bathroom and no tea in the kitchenGary from United Kingdom – 26 June 2023 (8/10)
Good location. Aldi supermarket across the street. 15 – 20 minutes walk to long market where lots of bars/restaurants and harbour. Apartment was clean. Host helpful and had good communication.
What could be improved: Apartment is on a main road so if you are a light sleeper like myself, you may struggle with noise (i always take ear plugs away with me). Hot water was tempermental in the shower and took some fiddling with. Theres 4 locks on the 2 doors and remembering what key fit what lock was time consuming. Sink not attached to the wall in bathroom.Zdeněk from Czech Republic – 24 August 2022 (9/10)
Very nice, cozy apartment with everything you can need for a long stay. Even washing machine.
What could be improved: Location is good, but in summer the apartment was warm at night, so we had to sleep with windows open and since the location is noisy, our sleep was disturbed by outdoor noises.Vladislav from Poland – 22 August 2022 (9/10)
Nice location, clean and comfortable.
Egle from Lithuania – 14 August 2022 (9/10)
The apartment was great. Location is in the center of the city. You can arrive very late, because you can take the key without contact.
What could be improved: There was only one large shower head in the shower. The regulation of hot and cold water was a little bit complicated.
