OLD NOVA Q4Apartments Overview

OLD NOVA Q4Apartments sits tucked into the cobblestone charm of Panieńska 3, right where the old city’s hustle meets the tranquil river rhythm. I first noticed the little wrought‑iron sign when I stepped out of the tram stop at St. Mary 2, and honestly, the building already looked like a storybook with its peeling white paint and the faint scent of fresh bread wafting from the bakery on Błonia. The front desk was a pair of cheerful locals who, after a quick ID check, handed me a key card and a handwritten note that read, “Welcome to your home away from home—enjoy the nearby pier and the sunset over the Motława.” The check‑in was smoother than I expected, only about ten minutes, and the staff kept a friendly rhythm, almost as if they’d been doing this forever.

Inside, the apartment is a cozy, modern apartment that feels more like a well‑curated studio than a hotel room. The living area has a subtle, neutral palette, but the real highlight is the oversized window that frames the city’s skyline at dusk—there’s a soft, amber glow that makes you feel like you’re watching a Poleski sunset in real time. The bed is surprisingly plush, with a tufted headboard that feels like a hug, and the linens are crisp, though I did notice a faint, old‑paper smell that probably comes from the building’s age. The kitchen is compact yet functional; there’s a small espresso machine, a kettle, and a set of ceramic mugs that look like they belong in a coffee shop downtown. The bathroom is bright, with a rain shower that keeps the humidity low, and the towel rack is positioned just above the pipe, so you can see the faint outline of the old plumbing system—sort of a nod to the building’s heritage.

Parking is a bit of a hustle; there’s a small, paid lot right across the street, but you’ll have to pay for a day, and the space is tight if you’re thinking about bringing a bike. If you stay during the night shift of the pier, you’ll hear the distant hum of shipyard machinery, but otherwise, the apartment is quiet—great for an early morning coffee without the city’s usual clatter. I found the noise level ideal; you can hear the market stalls on the square during the day, but by 10 pm, it’s mostly the gentle rustle of leaves and the occasional laughter from the bar on Mała. As for the surrounding streets, the corner of Panieńska and Gdańsk’s main shopping street, Ulica Gdańska, is just a block away, so you can grab a sandwich from the street vendor or stroll to the historic St. Mary’s Church. The best time to stay is during the shoulder seasons—late spring or early fall—when the crowds thin out and the city feels less like a tourist trap and more like a living, breathing neighborhood. Overall, I’d say OLD NOVA Q4Apartments is a solid, comfortable spot that lets you feel the pulse of Gdańsk without the usual hotel stiffness, and with a rating of 8.7, it’s a pretty sweet deal for the price.

Reviews of OLD NOVA Q4Apartments

  • Marta from Poland – 6 April 2025 (9/10)

  • Patrycja from Poland – 5 April 2025 (9/10)

What could be improved: Świetna lokalizacja. Komfortowy apartament

  • Paulina from Poland – 24 March 2025 (8/10)

Super lokalizacja, mieszkanko czyściutkie oraz ciche

  • G from Poland – 23 February 2025 (9/10)

    Czysto, 2xTV, dużo sprzętu AGD,lokalizacja

What could be improved: Nigdy nie dogodzi się wszystkim

  • Diana from United Kingdom – 22 October 2024 (9/10)

Really loved this property. Very spacious. Loved the fact that kitchen wasn’t combined with the living room, this lay out gives you more privacy. Kitchen was well equipped. Location is a perfect walking distance to train station, as well as the Old Town.

What could be improved: The two minor things are only one towel per person and extremely hot water in the shower, but those two things didn’t affect our time at flat at all.

  • Krystyna from United Kingdom – 4 September 2024 (4/10)

    Great location

What could be improved: Broken toilet seat, shower, wardrobe, poorly equipped kitchen (not enough cutlery and crockery), no extra towels, not enough dishwasher tablets, no tea towels, dirty and smelly washing machine, tiny air dryer

  • Aleksandra from United Kingdom – 21 August 2024 (6/10)

The location was very good and the apartment was bright and modern.

What could be improved: There was only hot water in the shower so my toddler was screaming when I shower her and refused to shower for the rest of our stay. The toilet seat was broken. Not enough toilet paper and towels. This was disappointing, considering the price.

  • Shreyas from Sweden – 16 July 2024 (6/10)

Centrally located property. The apartment was bright, very clean and well furnished. It is at a walking distance from old-town, world war 2 museum, Amber sky etc. The building where the apartment is located is great too. Didn't get a chance to try the sauna.

What could be improved: The parking was not included and it cost 300PLN for the week we stayed. The apartment at this price could have easily included parking.
The apartment was not stocked with essentials. We had to buy toilet paper, laundry tablets. We had to contact the agent to get dishwasher tablets, body soap, hand soap, which should have been stocked in the first place. Cleaning could have been included as well and checking if we needed fresh or extra towels.
The shower rendered only piping hot water during this summer week.

  • Dominic from United Kingdom – 5 July 2024 (4/10)

    Properly equipped kitchen

What could be improved: Lumpy pillows
    Nowhere to hang clothes
    Holes in the linen
    Uncomfortable sofa
No pride in how the apartment was decorated. Sparse furnishing, done cheaply. Not a comfortable or welcoming holiday apartment. More an empty investment apartment which someone is trying to make money from.

  • Rozalia from United Kingdom – 30 June 2024 (8/10)

    Great location and generally sufficient.

What could be improved: Not much, couldn’t alter the temperature of the water in the shower, it was too hot.
