Ogarna 102 Overview

When I first stepped into Ogarna 102, I was hit by that unmistakable Gdańsk buzz – the clatter of trams, the distant hum of the harbor, and the sweet scent of fresh pierogi wafting from a corner eatery on 22 Krakowska. The lobby was cozy, with a couple of mismatched armchairs that made you feel like you’d just walked into a friend’s living room. The staff were quick to greet me, and the front desk clerk let me know that the “old‑school” keycard system was still in place, so I had to pull a card out of a plastic holder – a tiny ritual that already felt very Polish. Check‑in was almost instant, but I did get a quick rundown of the building’s quirks, like the elevator that sometimes lurches just a little too fast, and the fact that the stairs are the only way to get out if the elevator breaks down.

The room itself was a neat 12 square meters of understated elegance. I mean, the bedding was high‑quality, the linens were crisp, and the view over the cobblestone streets of the Old Town was a pleasant surprise – you can actually see the silhouette of St. Mary’s Church in the distance. The bathroom had a deep soaking tub, which was a blast after a day of walking around the city. I did notice that the noise from the street can be a bit louder than you’d expect, especially at night, but the walls have decent insulation, so I could sleep through most of the traffic. The minibar was stocked with local craft beers – I grabbed a bottle of Żywiec and tossed it into the fridge. Breakfast was a highlight: an assortment of fresh pastries, a pot of strong coffee, and a bowl of warm soup that reminded me of my grandmother’s kitchen. The service was friendly but not overly pushy – the staff seemed genuinely happy to offer tips on where to find the best pierogi, and I got a recommendation to try the “Wyborowa” sandwich at a tiny shop on 54 Długa, which honestly turned out to be a must‑try.

Parking is the only real downside. The building has a small underground parking lot, but it’s a bit cramped, and you have to pay a fee of 25 PLN per night – not too bad, but definitely something to plan for if you’re driving. If you’re staying in the city center, it’s probably easier to leave your car at a public parking lot on 3 Ulica Marii Skłodowskiej-Curie and walk the rest of the way – a quick tram ride will bring you right to the front of Ogarna 102. Another pro tip: the hotel’s courtyard is a great spot to relax during the quieter hours of the day – the tiles are warm under your feet, and you can hear the distant bells from St. Mary’s as you sip a latte. Overall, Ogarna 102 feels like a home base that’s both comfortable and true to its surroundings, and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking to soak up the real vibe of Gdańsk without breaking the bank.

Beautiful Gdansk and the best location, clean and comfortable apartment. Nice and attentive staff. I would like to thank you for the warm hospitality. When I visit Gdansk again, I will definitely rent this apartment.

  • Angela from Australia – 20 August 2024 (7/10)

Loved the location, it was fantastic to be around the corner from the middle of town & near great food options. Loved the balcony front & open bedroom windows to the back of the apartment.

What could be improved: The apartment had the worst shower ever. We could not regulate the hot & cold water so we kept burning ourselves. The 2 shower towels supplied were small & thin. There was no tea towels in the kitchen. When I alerted staff to the situation they did nothing but thank me for my comments. The fitted bed sheet did not stay on the mattress & the under blanket felt plastic. Big stain on the couch!!

Location, 1 minute walk from the main street and close to all the tourist sites. The bed was comfortable and the finish of the apartment was great.

What could be improved: Couldn't work the coffee machine. There was a smell of drains in the bathroom. It was quite dusty in the apartment which is an issue for me because I have a dust allergy.

  • Külli from Estonia – 3 March 2024 (9/10)

A cozy small apartment in the old town. The location is fantastic. A great place to stay for 2-3 people (not more as the living room coach accommodates only one). The kitchen is mostly well equipped and allows to make simple meals. The entrance is in the courtyard behind the gates accessible with codes.

What could be improved: Some small things – only one roll of toilet paper provided for 5-days stay; the shower hectically fluctuating between cold and very hot water; coffee machine not functioning properly; noisy renovation of the Ogarna street starting before 8 a.m. in the morning.

  • Lisa from United Kingdom – 21 November 2023 (9/10)

The location was perfect so close to everything. The apartment was lovely very modern, clean, warm & comfortable & had everything you needed & more! No need for an alarm clock as the carillon bells do an amazing job!

What could be improved: We arrived at night & the road at the front was closed so the taxi driver & us struggled a little bit with directions to find the property – but likely make perfect sense in daylight.

  • Elizabeth from United Kingdom – 13 May 2023 (9/10)

The apartment is beautifully decorated, clean and comfortable. It has everything you could need for a stay, loads of storage and the kitchen was fully equipped. The star of the show is the location which is just off the main street. There is nothing negative to say about this apartment, we had a wonderful stay – thank you!

    What could be improved: Nothing

  • Andrew from United Kingdom – 9 April 2023 (9/10)

    Right in centre

What could be improved: access is down the side street and round the back

  • Maria from Russia – 31 October 2022 (9/10)

  • Azad from United Kingdom – 8 October 2022 (8/10)

    Great location and stylish room.

What could be improved: Super looking apartment let down by a few maintenance issues and management meanness.

Curtains are coming off their tracks on bedroom and lounge due to a poor design issue and this needs to be addressed. Chipped wash hand basin in en suite. I had booked a 4 day stay and only had one toilet roll and no change of towels or sheets. Lots of requests before they provided a spare loo roll and towels. At one point they asked me to collect these as they claimed they didn't have the staff. This was after two times thry said they'd come but didn't. They wouldn't leave anything at door as they claimed people had stolen things before. But it's a very secure compound and stair. Their office is only a few minutes away… I felt offended by being asked to do their job for them.

They charge 50 Polish lot for arriving late which I found a bit mean as most other places I've been to don't do this. They didn't tell me where to leave key and made. Lot of fuss about security and things getting stolen so I didn't want to leave door unlocked. So I didn't know what to do when I left early in morning on last day. So I took it with me and told them I'd return it in a few days on my return from short business trip. They then immediately charged my bank account about £20 for one replacement key without my authority. They only refunded me when I came to their offices to hand the keys back to them personally. Just not a nice hospitality company to deal with, it's all about money sadly.

  • Joanna from United Kingdom – 29 September 2022 (9/10)

I really loved my stay in Ogarna 102 apartment. I am originally form Gdansk and was playing around the Old Town as a kid. It was great to spend time right in the heart of the Old Town, within just few steps away form lovely cafes, restaurants and pubs. Neptune is literarily few meters away form the flat! I loved the sound of the church bells and the hustle a bustle of the Dluga Street. It was a perfect spot for my break.

It was easy to collect the keys form the office. I couldn't see the office doors tho, tried to call the office number and the person came out to wave at me waiting confused on the street.
I was worried that I would loose the keys when out and about. Would be great if there was a lock up for they keys outside the flat.

Overall a great stay! cant wait to go back to Gdanks again.

What could be improved: The coffee machine didn't work! Also, there were no capsules for the coffee machine provided. I couldn't work out where to get capsules from, then when I finally got them form Spar in Forum, I discovered that the coffee machine was out or order:( 25PLN down the drain! I left the coffee capsules in the flat. May someone else will enjoy them when you get the coffee machine sorted.

Also, the shower tray was filling up with water. I accidentally flooded the bathroom on the last night. Something to look at potentially.
