The building’s stone façade looks like a castle from a postcard, but once you step inside, it’s a surprisingly cozy, almost domestic space. The reception desk is a small counter with a handwritten welcome note – honestly, I felt like the place had a personal touch, not a corporate one. The key lock box is in the hallway, and the buzzer is a bit old-school, but the staff at the front desk were friendly enough to give you a quick rundown of the elevator and the nearest bus stop. You know what, the check‑in was almost instant – just the usual quick scan of your ID and a few questions about your stay.

The apartment itself is a bright, airy room with a little kitchenette that has everything you need for a weekend: a coffee maker, a small fridge, and a set of pots that actually fit into the narrow corner. The living area has a comfy sofa that folds into a bed for extra guests, and the bed is a bit smaller than a king but the mattress is plush enough to not feel like a mattress you’d find in a cheap hostel. The balcony is a surprise – a narrow strip of wood that overlooks the cobblestones of the Old Town, giving you a view of the St. Mary’s Church bell tower. I spent a morning sipping orange juice while listening to the low hum of the Motława River and the occasional gull cry. The windows are double‑glazed, so the noise from the street is softened, but there are still the occasional honk of a taxi or a bicycle passing by when the market square is crowded. If you’re a light sleeper, you might want to bring earplugs – especially during the summer festivals.

One thing I found especially handy is the parking situation. The street in front of the building (ul. Ogarna) has free street parking, but you have to be quick – the city’s parking meters can fill up fast during the tourist season. For the night, you can lock your car on the back alley, which is a short walk from the building. The building itself has a small lift, so if you’re carrying a lot of luggage, it’s a relief. The bathroom has a rainfall shower and a decent amount of towels – no need to buy extra at a nearby store. The air conditioning is decent, but it can be a bit noisy in the summer, which is a minor quibble. The only thing that feels a bit off is the Wi‑Fi – you have to log in via the admin portal, and the signal can drop if you’re on the balcony, but that’s a minor annoyance.

I spent a day wandering around ul. Gdańska and ul. Wiśniowa, both just a couple of blocks away, and the experience was genuinely local. The street coffee shop on ul. Ogarna has the best caramel latte – the barista knows your name after a few visits. The bakery on ul. Kwiatowa offers freshly baked pierogi that you can’t find in most tourist spots. I even caught a small jazz performance at the corner of ul. Orzechowa when I was heading back, the music spilling out into the courtyard. The building’s location is perfect for walking to the Old Town Market Square, St. Mary’s Church, and the Neptune Fountain, all within a 15‑minute stroll. The only downside is that the area can get noisy during the Christmas market, but otherwise, the night is relatively quiet and the street lights give a cozy glow.

  Everything was perfect. The decoration of the place was beautiful, the apartment was fully equipped with everything you could need and more, beds and pillows very comfortable.
  The host was always available if we needed something and the apartment was located in the heart of the city.
