The Crane (that massive medieval port crane everyone photographs) is right there along the waterfront, and the whole Długi Targ area with its colorful merchant houses feels like your backyard. Plus, there’s something really nice about coming back to a quiet street after a day of sightseeing — Jaglana doesn’t get the tourist foot traffic, so it actually feels peaceful.

The Room Experience

The rooms here strike that perfect balance between modern comfort and respecting the historic character of the building. My room had these lovely high ceilings and windows that actually opened (you’d be surprised how rare that is), letting in the sounds of the Old Town — church bells, distant conversations, the occasional horse-drawn carriage. The beds are genuinely comfortable, and the bathrooms are well-designed without trying to be overly fancy. What really impressed me was the attention to small details — good lighting for reading, plenty of outlets where you actually need them, and blackout curtains that work.

Practical Perks

One thing that’ll save you some headache — they’ve got free private parking right on site, which is honestly a godsend in Gdańsk’s Old Town. Try finding a parking spot around here otherwise, and you’ll spend half your vacation circling narrow medieval streets. The staff genuinely knows the area well, too — not just the obvious tourist spots, but where to find good pierogi at 10 PM or which amber shops aren’t tourist traps. They’re the kind of people who’ll draw you a little map on hotel stationary and actually remember your name.
