M&M Doki Studio Overview

M&M Doki Studio sits snugly on Księdza Jerzego Popiełuszki, one of those quieter side streets off the main bustle of Stare Miasto, the Old Town. I found the building a bit tucked away, just past the second turn from Motławy, which feels like a secret little pocket for those who know where to look. The lobby is a warm, low-key space—think exposed brick, soft jazz on the speakers, and a barista who knows your name after a few visits. They serve a surprisingly good espresso that smells like fresh beans and a hint of cinnamon, which is a sweet start to the day. The check‑in was super smooth; the staff were friendly and, honestly, seemed genuinely excited to share the best spots in Gdańsk with guests. The front desk even gave me a handwritten note with the best tram stops for a quick hop to the beach, which I never would have thought of.

Walking out, the street air is a blend of sea breeze and the fragrant aromas from a nearby pierogi stand on Długi Targ. The hotel’s parking is a bit of a hassle—there’s a small, narrow lot right next to the building, but you can also find street spots a few blocks away. The downside? It can be a little noisy during the peak summer season, especially when the market stalls open and the chatter starts early in the morning. I mean, if you’re not a night owl, you might want to bring earplugs or consider a room on an upper floor. The rooms themselves are cozy, with a minimalist design that feels modern but not sterile. The bed is comfy—plush, with a good mattress—but the pillows are a bit stiff, so you might want to bring a favorite pillow from home. The bathroom has a nice walk-in shower, though the showerhead feels a bit old in the design, but the water pressure is solid.

What I loved most was the small, tucked-away cafe in the corner of the lobby that opens early. They serve a local coffee blend that tastes like something you’d find at a neighborhood bakery. You can sit there, watch trams whiz by, and listen to the faint hum of the city—there’s a small plaque from the local artists’ group, a nice nod to Gdańsk’s creative vibe. The hotel’s Wi-Fi is decent but can lag a bit during the Christmas market season when everyone’s streaming videos. Still, for a short stay, it’s more than enough. If you’re planning to explore the old port area or the Amber Museum, you’re only a tram ride away, and if you’re looking for a quiet spot to unwind after a day of sightseeing, M&M Doki Studio delivers a surprisingly peaceful retreat. The staff are attentive, the rooms are comfortable, and you’ll feel like you’re staying in a well-kept secret of Gdańsk rather than a generic hotel. Just remember to skip the first morning rush if you can, and you’ll get the full experience of the city’s hidden charm and the comfort of a place that feels like it belongs here.

To book a hotel in Gdansk during major Baltic festivals, travelers need early planning as this historic Hanseatic city draws visitors eager to experience its amber heritage and shipyard history.

Reviews of M&M Doki Studio

  • Katharina from Netherlands – 4 June 2025 (9/10)

  • Leonora from United Kingdom – 29 May 2025 (10/10)

What could be improved: The ned was a fold open couch and not very comfortable

  • Victoria from United Kingdom – 19 May 2025 (9/10)

The cost to stay was good. The owners are easy to contact and give the information clearly and answer any questions or queries. Brilliant service from them. The location was excellent around 20 mi s walk to the centre. The Montownia food hall is around the corner fromt he apartment, So if you want to stay close by on an evening you still have all the different choices of food, They sometimes have music, and events as well.

The apartment was clean and well equipped, nice, and cosy with everything you could need. The sofa bed was a little uncomfortable, so for a longer stay wouldn't have been ideal, as it was only for afew nights it was fine. I would definitely recommend it.

    What could be improved: NOTHING

  • Joanna from Poland – 26 April 2025 (10/10)

Wszystko, bezproblemową komunikację z gospodarzem, fakt, że mieszkanie było wybitnie czyste i mądrze urządzone, wszystko czego mogłam potrzebować znajdowało się pod ręką

What could be improved: Nie było takiej rzeczy

  • Iryna from Germany – 10 April 2025 (10/10)
