Maya’s Flats & Resorts 40 – Kolodziejska Old Town Gdańsk Overview

Maya’s Flats & Resorts 40 – Kolodziejska Old Town Gdańsk sits smack on Kołodziejska Street, a narrow, cobblestone lane that feels like a secret tunnel into Gdańsk’s heart. When I walked in, the first thing that hit me was the scent of fresh coffee and baked rye bread wafting from the on‑site café—it’s the kind of aroma that makes you feel like you’ve already been home for a while. The lobby is cozy, with a mix of modern art and antique wooden beams that echo the city’s maritime heritage. Check‑in was quick; the staff greeted me with a warm “Witaj!” and handed me a key that came with a tiny note: “Enjoy your stay, and don’t forget to visit the St. Mary’s Church tomorrow!”

If you’re looking for a place that feels like a local’s apartment, Maya’s Flats & Resorts 40 – Kolodziejska Old Town Gdańsk delivers. The rooms are spacious, with floor‑to‑ceiling windows that frame the city’s skyline—think the gabled roofs of the Old Town and the shimmering motława river. The beds are surprisingly plush, and the linens have this buttery softness that makes you want to stay in your sleep. I did notice that the noise from the street can be a bit lively during the day, especially around the bustling market stalls on Przeróbka Street, but if you close the curtains and turn on the soft white noise, it fades into a gentle hum. The bathroom is a sanctuary: the ceramic tiles glisten like fresh snow, and the shower has that high‑pressure, spa‑like feel that leaves you refreshed even after a long day of walking.

The real charm is how Maya’s Flats & Resorts 40 – Kolodziejska Old Town Gdańsk blends convenience with authenticity. Parking is a bit of a challenge—there’s a small underground lot right next to the building, but it fills up quickly during the summer. I ended up using a street meter on Przeróbka for the night, which is fine, but if you’re arriving early in the morning, you might want to plan ahead. The hotel’s location is a stone’s throw from the Golden Gate, the Royal Stairs, and the bustling Dam Square. I spent late afternoons strolling along the Motława, sipping a cold beer from a street vendor while watching the boats drift past. The restaurant on the second floor offers a mix of hearty pierogi and modern Polish dishes, and the service is friendly—though I’d say the wait time for a table can be a bit long in the evenings. Still, the food is worth the wait, especially the smoked trout.

One honest thing to note: the Wi‑Fi can be spotty if you’re in the older parts of the building. I had to move a few times to get a steady signal. But that’s a small price to pay for the overall experience. The staff do offer a complimentary power bank to keep your phone charged on the go, which is a lifesaver when you’re out exploring the old streets. Lastly, the hotel is incredibly quiet at night, with the only sounds being the distant church bells and the occasional gull overhead. In short, Maya’s Flats & Resorts 40 – Kolodziejska Old Town Gdańsk feels like a hidden gem that offers a genuine slice of Gdańsk life—just don’t forget to grab a coffee and a slice of cheesecake before you head out the next morning.

Beautifully directed, great location, super clean

  • Yufeng from Taiwan – 20 May 2025 (10/10)

The location is very convenient. It’s almost in the center of old town and near most of the famous attractions. It only takes less than 15 minutes walking distance to Gdansk Central station. The apartment with good street view is filled with lots of sunlights. There are several supermarkets and grocery stores in the neighborhood. Also, a lot of different restaurants and coffee shops.

  • Felicity from Australia – 19 May 2025 (9/10)

This comfortable and very clean apartment is in a great location in the old town. Good communication with host.

  • Krzysztof from Netherlands – 19 May 2025 (10/10)

A very neat, quiet and clean apartment with all facilities. Excellent location. Easy contact with the owners.

Warning for other visitors: read precisely the instructions. Namely, the entrance is around the corner, from the Swietego Ducha street.

  • Urszula from United States – 4 May 2025 (9/10)

    Everything

What could be improved: TV not working

  • Dionne from Canada – 16 April 2025 (10/10)

Awesome! Everything we needed and the hosts were super responsive.

What could be improved: Nope! All good! As always when staying in a city center… bring good earplugs. But that’s 200% to be expected.

  • Lucille from United Kingdom – 4 April 2025 (9/10)

Really liked everything about the property. Would definitely stay there again.

  • Gratravels87 from United Kingdom – 7 March 2025 (9/10)

Absolutely amazing apartment. Matches the pictures and looks recently renovated. There were little touches like Polish sweets on the table, umbrellas and shoe horn, proper plates (not from IKEA), even little containers of coffee, sugar, salt which I have never seen at others I have stayed at. I will definitely be looking at their other apartments on their website for my next trip to Gdansk. Thank you for having us.
