Luxus Dwie Motławy Overview

Luxus Dwie Motławy sits on 20 Toruńska 87, a block out of the old town but close enough that you can hear the distant chime of the bells from St. Mary’s Basilica. On the first day, I took the tram toward the harbor and decided to check in before the city really woke up. The lobby was surprisingly intimate – not that big, but the staff greeted us with a warm smile and an offer of a quick city map that even the most seasoned traveler would appreciate. They were also super efficient; the check‑in was almost instant, no long lines, which is a relief when you’re trying to beat the morning rush. The room itself was a clean, well‑furnished space, but what really caught my eye was the view: a dusty, industrial balcony overlooking a quiet street that feels like a secret alley in the city. The lights from the harbor flicker at night, and you can almost imagine the smell of fresh fish drifting in from the sea.

After settling in, I stepped out onto the balcony and pulled the curtains aside. The sound of traffic was a distant hum, not the frantic clatter you’d expect in a tourist hotspot. It was the kind of noise that makes you feel like you’re in the middle of a quiet, working city – the kind of place where you can actually hear yourself think. I grabbed a coffee from the local café on Wzgórze Piaskowe (the one with the chipped blue ceramic cup) and sat on the sidewalk, watching the tourists hop off trams and hop onto scooters. The café owner mentioned that the best time to snag a table is right before the lunch rush, so I made a note for the next day. Parking was a bit of a hunt; the nearest paid spot was down on Płaszczka, but there’s a free municipal parking lot just a block away, which is always a lifesaver if you’re traveling with a car. I mean, a lot of people forget that Gdańsk’s old town can be a maze, but having that little secret parking spot saved me a lot of frustration.

When the night fell, I ventured into the nearby street called Trąbka – a narrow, cobblestone lane that’s practically a hidden gem. It’s not as famous as the main market square, but locals swear by the small bistro there for pierogi. I stopped by for dinner and was pleasantly surprised by the chef’s homemade sauce, which had a hint of dill and the faint scent of smoked fish that lingered in the air. The service was prompt, and the waiter recommended a glass of the local cider that pairs perfectly with the pierogi. After dinner, I walked back to the hotel, and the streets were quiet, the only sounds were my own footsteps and the distant sea. Honestly, staying at Luxus Dwie Motławy felt like a breath of fresh air – a place that balances the buzz of the city with a serene, almost secluded vibe, and that’s exactly why I’d bring a friend next time.

  • Artem from Poland – 4 May 2025 (6/10)

    Location, view

What could be improved: Cold, not comfortable sofa

  • Clemens from Poland – 2 March 2025 (7/10)

Good location, comfortable apartment, nice staff.

What could be improved: The sheets weren’t too fresh, the bathroom had some bugs which aren’t harmful but it still felt uncomfortable. I wanted to make myself some tea and the provided sugar had some black spots in it :/

  • Paulina from United Kingdom – 27 January 2025 (8/10)

I had all I needed during my stay. Bathroom, kitchen facilities. The apartment is simple.

What could be improved: The sink in the bathroom was blocked and the bed was twisting.

First, I want to highlight the balcony and its amazing and pleasant view of the river. We were there during warm weather, so we enjoyed breakfast on the balcony with a nice view every morning, even though there was work being done nearby. The apartment is really small and doesn't have a bed but a pull-out couch, so to feel somewhat comfortable, you have to fold it up all the time, but that's not a big problem, and it's also shown in the photos, so we expected it. Communication with the host went smoothly; they answered the phone immediately and responded to messages right away, which I really appreciated. I also appreciated the possibility of parking in the underground garage. The location of the accommodation is about a 5-10 minute walk from the center, which was perfect for us as a young couple. There is also a store in the building, which is a plus, and a 24-hour reception.

I will negatively rate the cleanliness of the apartment, which, in my opinion, wasn't cleaned before our arrival. There were other people's hair and dust all over the floor. I don't think they ever vacuumed behind the couch, and the toilet and shower were also dirty for my taste. I also don't think the bedding or pillows were clean, which worsened my overall impression of the accommodation. Moreover, the balcony probably has never been cleaned, which is a shame because if it were clean, I would definitely rate this apartment much higher. We stayed there for 4 nights, and it was really quiet, which was great. However, if you are a cleanliness stickler like me, you should choose something else.

  • Kulik from Poland – 28 November 2023 (8/10)

I liked the view from the window – although we arrived on a rainy day, there's was a nice view on a small river (however you have to remember to cover the windows before changing clothes etc. – there's another building on the other side of the small river :). I also really liked the bathroom, even though it wasn't big or anything it was clean and functional 🙂

What could be improved: There was a coffee which I appreciate a lot, but if I may suggest, it's best to get rid of the random tea, probably left by other guests. Maybe replacing it with a few neat teabags in a box or another container? It would add greatly to the overall look 🙂

  • Stewart from United Kingdom – 20 November 2023 (9/10)

Apartment was perfect for a short stay in a great location just 10min walk from Gdansk Old Town, shop next door, extremely clean with lovely terrace balcony overlooking river. Will definitely be using again in the future!

What could be improved: Only downfalls I would say is could do with a multiplug adapter somewhere as not many spare sockets for charging phones, plus to use firestick but managed to purchase one whilst there. Only other would be there was no mugs to make hot drinks!

  • Lina from Lithuania – 11 September 2023 (5/10)

Location was nice, 10 min walk to old town. Nice river view.

What could be improved: We ordered this apartment because of free parking space in the garage. So we canceled other booking and took this one. Unfortunetly, when we came, after 12 hours car trip at the security desk we found out, that there is no free parking place as in description. I dont know do the owner understand the situation in which we got into because of his irresponsibility. When the emoloyee tried to help and solve the problem, I just rieceved the text message in polish (we do not speak in that language) that sorry the car place is already taken by the other car!!! What the..!! Thanks to security boy, he advised us where in street we can left the car for free parking, and said this is not the first time when the owner acted like that!

  • Björn from Sweden – 28 May 2023 (4/10)

What could be improved: Beware that there is no real bed, only a studio coach – so it’s not very suitable for couples. The host also demands extra payment for “local taxes” that is not included in the price listed on Booking.

  • Paweł from Poland – 17 May 2023 (8/10)

Clean, comfortable, quiet, safe. 24-hour reception desk, private parking place in the underground garage. Nice view from the balcony, walking area along the river.

  • Amelia from Ireland – 31 March 2023 (7/10)

The apartment was lovely, comfortable and clean and new . It was within walking distance to the Old Town and there was a shop downstairs

What could be improved: Only had WiFi on the first day . No balcony.
