Walking into Hotel Sadova on Łąkowa 60 was like stepping into a polished, yet unpretentious slice of Gdańsk. The lobby, small but warm, is lined with local art and a fireplace that crackles softly in the early evening. The two young staff members give you that instant “you’re home” vibe. Check‑in was quick; I only had to show my ID and a handful of photos, no endless paperwork. Parking is a real lifesaver—there’s a small lot right in front of the building, and it’s free until 10 p.m., which is rare in this city. The only downside? The street outside is a bit noisy at night, but the hotel’s thick windows do a decent job of muffling the traffic from the nearby Złota Street. I found the front desk friendly enough to explain the parking rules in detail, which is always appreciated when you’re juggling luggage.

My room was a 20‑square‑meter haven: a king‑size bed with a mattress that was surprisingly plush, a flat‑screen TV with a decent selection of Polish and English channels, and a balcony that offered a view of the cobblestones and the occasional jogger on Gdańska. The room smelled faintly of the sea—an odd but pleasant reminder that the city is only a short walk from the beach. There were a few small touches that made it feel like a home: a vase of fresh flowers, a jar of local honey, and a handwritten welcome note that said “Miłego pobytu” (have a nice stay). Breakfast was a highlight—an open‑air terrace with a spread that included fresh rye bread, a selection of cheeses, smoked salmon, and a homemade orange juice that tasted like it was squeezed right there.   What could be improved: One of the workers displayed the Palestinian flag. I didn't want to provoke that, so I blocked it. I don't accept this phenomenon in a place that serves all countries in the world, especially Israelis.
