HOTEL GRANO Gdańsk Old Town – GRANO HOTEL Gdańsk Old Town Overview
HOTEL GRANO Gdańsk Old Town sits at the corner of Pszenna and Dluga, right on the cobblestones that lead to St. Mary’s Church. As soon as I stepped out of the elevator, the scent of fresh rye bread from the bakery on Mariacka Street hit me—an instant reminder that I was in the heart of the city. The lobby feels like a cozy living room; a low hum of conversation, the distant chime of church bells, and a faint rustle of pages from a nearby bookshop. Parking is a bit of a hunt; there’s a paid garage on Gdańska Street, but if you’re a local, you can snag a street spot near the corner of Pszenna, just before the pedestrian zone opens up. The noise level is lively but manageable—there’s a rhythm to the city that you can’t help but fall into.
When I checked in, the staff was friendly, though the peak tourist season can mean a short queue at the front desk. They handed me a keycard that glowed a soft blue—an odd, almost futuristic touch that makes you smile. The room itself is a blend of modern comfort and historic charm. The bed is ridiculously comfortable; the mattress feels like it’s been engineered by a sleep scientist. The window offers a panoramic view of the Old Town’s rooftops, and the floor-to-ceiling windows let you see the city lights flicker in the evening. I had to ask the front desk to move a bit of the furniture over, but they were quick to comply. I did notice that the Wi‑Fi sometimes hiccups in the evenings—an honest little inconvenience, but not a deal‑breaker. The bathroom is spacious, with a rain shower that feels like a spa, and the towels are thick, fluffy, and smelling faintly of lavender.
Outside the hotel, you’re basically in walking distance to everything that matters. A quick stroll south takes you to the Gdańsk Crane, where you can see the river and feel the wind on your face—perfect for a photo op. If you’re craving local food, there’s a pierogi stand on Gdańska Street that’s worth a detour; the meat pierogi are especially good, and the vendor is always ready with a friendly grin. For those who appreciate a quiet morning, the early hours are surprisingly serene—only the occasional clatter of a tram and the distant murmur of tourists. In the summer, foot traffic swells, but I found that the hotel’s location on the quieter side of Pszenna keeps the noise at a comfortable level. In winter, the cobblestones are slick, and the city’s lights cast a golden glow, creating a cozy, almost cinematic atmosphere. If you’re looking for a place that feels like a home base in the middle of Gdańsk’s historic heart, Hotel Grano Gdańsk Old Town delivers. The staff’s warm smiles, the comfortable rooms, and the unbeatable proximity to the city’s must‑see spots make this a stay I’d recommend to anyone who wants to feel truly immersed in the old‑world charm without sacrificing modern comforts.
Best hotels in Gdansk range from charming boutique properties in the historic Main Town to elegant waterfront hotels with stunning views of the Motława River and Gothic architecture.

Reviews of HOTEL GRANO Gdańsk Old Town – GRANO HOTEL Gdańsk Old Town
Simon from Denmark – 8 June 2025 (8/10)
The hotel is extremely modern and clean, and the room was a good size.
The breakfast was one of the best I have experienced at a hotel.
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The location was good. Having been to the city a handful of times, I was convinced I did not want to stay on the main street (Długa). GRANO offers a good compromise of being only a few minutes walk from the touristy part of the city while not being either very busy during the day or at risk of being noisy during the night.
What could be improved: The location, while good for the touristy part of the city, was a little walk from the major public transport routes – roughly a 20-minute walk from the tram station and 25 minutes from the train station. This was a deciding factor in choosing against taking the train straight from the airport.
The view from the room was a bit disappointing – looking down on to a concrete car park.
The check-in procedure was a bit slow. It seemed like most people had the same questions about the pool and spa (GRANO "leads" with these features on its Booking.com profile image and further advertises them in the elevator). Each time the hard-working employee had to repeat pretty much the same script on the spa and pool, when a better solution could be either to have a leaflet ready or use part of the website to explain the setup (which wasn't complicated but did take time to explain).Anna from United Kingdom – 5 June 2025 (10/10)
