Hotel Gdańsk Boutique Overview

Hotel Gdańsk Boutique sits just off Szafarnia 9, right by the cobblestones that make up the old quarter’s heart. When I first stepped onto the sidewalk, the smell of fresh pierogi from a nearby stand mingled with the salty bite from the Motława River—an instant reminder that Gdańsk’s culinary soul is only a few streets away. The building itself is a neat blend of 19th‑century brick and modern glass, and the staff at the lobby were quick to greet me with that familiar, warm Polish hospitality that makes you feel less like a guest and more like a returning friend. Check‑in was a breeze: a friendly concierge handed me a keycard while recommending the best spots for a sunset walk along the waterfront; I just had to mention that the parking on Szafarnia is a bit pricey, but there’s a small underground lot right across the street if you’re willing to pay for convenience. Noise-wise, the street’s nightlife is a low‑level hum after midnight—nothing that would keep you awake unless you’re a super‑sensitive sleeper. I mean, you could hear the clink of glasses from the bar on Chmielna, but it’s far enough away that I was out in a good dream by 2 a.m.

After the quick drop‑off, I headed into my room, and honestly, the view was a little more impressive than I expected. The windows face the bustling market square, so there’s a constant stream of life—vendors shouting, tourists snapping photos, the occasional old man with a bicycle. The room itself feels like a private studio: a king‑size bed with linens that whisper under the touch, a small balcony with a view of the historic town wall, and a bathroom that’s been refurbished with a warm, sun‑soaked finish. The shower’s water pressure is generous, and the mineral scent of the local tap water is oddly comforting. The minibar is stocked to a reasonable level—just enough soda and a few local beers to satisfy a late‑night craving. Breakfast was another highlight: a spread of Polish pastries, smoked salmon from the local fish market, and a steaming pot of “café z mlekiem” that made me think of my grandmother’s kitchen. The staff at the dining area were quick to note my preference for a non‑dairy milk, which they supplied without a hitch. The only slight critique? The Wi‑Fi is dependable, but the speed dips a bit when the city’s Wi‑Fi tower goes into overload during peak tourist season. Still, for a 5‑star stay, that’s a minor glitch.

Outside, the city’s rhythms are both comforting and invigorating. If you’re looking to explore, you can hop a short tram ride to the iconic St. Mary’s Church in less than ten minutes, or simply walk toward the harbor and find yourself at the “Złota” street with its array of souvenir shops and a café that serves the best espresso in town. For a quieter evening, a stroll down the less‑traveled lanes of the “Stare Miasto” will lead you to hidden galleries and a small courtyard where local musicians play traditional folk tunes. Parking again—there’s a small, paid lot near the hotel, but if you’re savvy, you can park in the municipal lot on the opposite side of the street; it’s a few minutes walk and saves you a few złotys. I’d say the best time to stay is during the shoulder seasons in late spring or early autumn; the crowds thin out, the city’s green spaces are still lush, and the nights are pleasantly cool. All in all,

Location is great. The building has a huge amount of history and looks amazing!!

What could be improved: As it’s an old building it’s not hugely soundproof but didn’t really bother us too much.

I absolutely loved this hotel. It was in a prime location. The staff were so helpful as my friend left her purse in the taxi which the hotel organised. They rang the taxi driver, and she got her purse back. The rooms were lovely with water, tea and coffee provided. We didn't eat there, so we can't comment on the food. I would definitely recommend this hotel .
