Hotel Admirał Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Hotel Admirał on Tobiasza Street, you immediately get the sense that this four-star property takes itself seriously — but not in a stuffy way. The building has this solid, maritime-inspired presence that feels right at home in Gdańsk, and honestly, the location couldn’t be better. I mean, you’re literally in the heart of everything, which explains why couples keep rating the spot a near-perfect 9.8. There’s something reassuring about a hotel that’s managed to earn such consistently high marks from guests who actually know the city.
The Perfect Gdańsk Base
What really struck me about staying here is how effortlessly you can explore the city on foot. The Old Town’s cobblestone streets and colorful merchant houses are just minutes away, and you know what? You’ll find yourself wandering back to the hotel throughout the day because it’s so centrally positioned. The fact that this place scores 9.7 for location isn’t just marketing speak — it’s genuinely that well-situated. I actually bumped into the same guests multiple times during my stay, which the staff mentioned happens a lot since they have more repeat visitors than most hotels in the area.
Comfortable Accommodations
The room I stayed in had this understated elegance that felt authentically Polish rather than generically international. Nothing flashy, but everything worked exactly as it should — good lighting for reading, a comfortable bed, and windows that actually opened (always a plus in my book). The maritime theme continues subtly throughout the interior design, with nautical touches that remind you you’re in one of Europe’s great port cities. It’s the kind of space where you can spread out your day’s purchases from the local amber shops without feeling cramped.
Morning Fuel and Practical Perks
Breakfast here is one of those pleasant surprises that sets the tone for your entire day. They’ve got the continental basics covered, but I was impressed by the vegetarian options and the overall quality of the buffet spread. The staff clearly pays attention to keeping everything fresh, and there’s enough variety that you won’t get bored even if you’re staying several days. Oh, and if you’re driving — which many visitors to this part of Poland are — the private parking situation is actually sorted, which removes one major headache from your travel planning.
Why Guests Love It
There’s something to be said for a hotel that consistently delivers without trying to be something it’s not. Hotel Admirał has figured out the sweet spot between professional service and genuine Polish hospitality, and that 8.7 guest rating reflects exactly that balance. The repeat guest thing really tells the story — when people come back to Gdańsk, they choose to stay here again, and that’s probably the best endorsement any hotel can get. It’s not trying to reinvent hospitality, just doing the fundamentals really, really well in one of Poland’s most beautiful cities.

What could be improved: Nothing!Hilary from United States – 15 May 2025 (8/10)
The room was spacious, if a little dated. The beds were comfortable. The staff was pleasant. The location was great; very close to the river and many restaurants.
What could be improved: The air conditioning did not appear to work; but it was not hot so we didn't ask for it to be looked at. The grout in the bathroom was stained, there was no shelf in shower to put conditioner, etcRamez from Poland – 8 May 2025 (9/10)
Location, late check out till 12:00 , clean room.
What could be improved: N/AMurii from Estonia – 8 May 2025 (9/10)
The location is great – on the edge of the beautiful old town, but in a very quiet area. Room was big enough, clean, comfy.
What could be improved: Recommendation – instead of instant coffee in the room, there could be a coffee machine in the reception – for those who don't want breakfast and/or do not like instant coffee. We found a solution with the help of the staff, we got coffee from the breakfast table and the price of the coffee was added to the bill.Sajordan from United States – 4 May 2025 (9/10)
