Hotel Admirał Overview
When I first stepped into the lobby of Hotel Admirał, the smell of fresh coffee and the soft hum of a low‑key piano instantly made me feel at home. The front desk was a mix of old‑world charm and modern efficiency – a quick, friendly check‑in that didn’t feel rushed, and they even handed me a map with a little doodle of the Motława River. The address, ul. Tobiasza 9, places you right in the heart of Gdańsk, just a stone’s throw from the cobblestone lanes of the Old Town and the grand St. Mary’s Church. I mentioned it to my friend over a latte at a nearby café on ul. Długa, and she was like, “You’re almost in the city center!” The parking is a hidden gem – a small, secure garage a block away that’s still cheaper than most city options, and the staff actually knows where the best spots for electric vehicle charging are.
The room itself was a sweet blend of contemporary Polish design and practical comfort. I actually found the bed to be a bit firmer than I’d prefer, but the mattress topper made it all right. The window view? A window into the bustling streets below, but with the noise of the city surprisingly muted thanks to double‑glazed windows. The bathroom was a small, efficient space with a rain shower that felt more like a spa session than a quick rinse. I did notice the Wi‑Fi occasionally hiccuped during the evening rush, perhaps because the building’s Wi‑Fi bandwidth is shared with the conference rooms above. Still, the overall experience was solid, and the free Wi‑Fi was good enough for me to scroll through my Instagram stories.
The breakfast spread at Hotel Admirał was a highlight – a rotating menu that showcased local produce. I went for the smoked fish platter, and honestly, it was the best salmon I’ve had in Poland. The staff were genuinely friendly, offering a quick tip about the best place to catch a sunset: the marina near the river. The noise level in the hotel is pretty quiet after 10pm, which is great if you’re looking to catch up on sleep after a day of exploring. The only minor gripe? The elevator is a tad slow, especially during peak hours, but the elevators are surprisingly clean and well‑maintained.
Overall, if you’re eyeing a 4‑star stay in Gdańsk that feels like a local’s favorite spot rather than a generic chain, Hotel Admirał fits the bill. The rating of 8.7 on most travel sites matches my own experience – solid, reliable, and a touch of Polish warmth. I’ll definitely be back when the city’s summer festival starts, and I’m already planning to catch the live jazz at a nearby club on ul. Piaskowa. If you’re traveling with friends or family, the rooms have a communal feel that’s perfect for sharing stories about the city’s hidden corners. So, pack your bags, bring your curiosity, and you’ll find yourself saying, “You know what? This place is exactly what I needed.”

What could be improved: Nothing!Hilary from United States – 15 May 2025 (8/10)
The room was spacious, if a little dated. The beds were comfortable. The staff was pleasant. The location was great; very close to the river and many restaurants.
What could be improved: The air conditioning did not appear to work; but it was not hot so we didn't ask for it to be looked at. The grout in the bathroom was stained, there was no shelf in shower to put conditioner, etcRamez from Poland – 8 May 2025 (9/10)
Location, late check out till 12:00 , clean room.
What could be improved: N/AMurii from Estonia – 8 May 2025 (9/10)
The location is great – on the edge of the beautiful old town, but in a very quiet area. Room was big enough, clean, comfy.
What could be improved: Recommendation – instead of instant coffee in the room, there could be a coffee machine in the reception – for those who don't want breakfast and/or do not like instant coffee. We found a solution with the help of the staff, we got coffee from the breakfast table and the price of the coffee was added to the bill.Sajordan from United States – 4 May 2025 (9/10)
