Hopfen by Little Heaven – Wyspa Spichrzów Overview

I just spent a weekend at Hopfen by Little Heaven – Wyspa Spichrzów and, honestly, it felt like stepping into a hidden gem tucked away right on ul. Jaglana. The check‑in was surprisingly breezy—no long queues, just a friendly receptionist who handed me a key with a wink and a quick rundown of the Wi‑Fi password and the elevator’s quirks (the one that’s a bit slow but has a nice view of the courtyard). You know what, the place starts off with that warm, almost home‑like feel you don’t often get in a downtown hotel. The lobby has that subtle, earthy scent of wood polish and fresh coffee, and the staff seem genuinely interested in whether you’re a foodie or a history buff, which made me feel more like a friend than a guest.

Once outside, the real charm kicks in. Hopfen by Little Heaven – Wyspa Spichrzów is nestled just a stone’s throw from the riverbank, so you can hear the gentle lapping of the water and the occasional gull cry as soon as you step onto the sidewalk. The street itself—ul. Jaglana—has that classic Gdańsk vibe with its cobblestones, a mix of older brick buildings and newer cafés. I walked past the little indie bookstore on the corner, which is a favorite among locals for its handwritten poetry collection, and then onto the market square where the vendors are selling fresh pierogi and hand‑made pierogi in the morning rush. If you’re looking for a place to grab a coffee, the tiny espresso bar on the next block has the best latte in town, and they know the regulars by name. The vibe is relaxed; you can sit on the terrace, sip a glass of local white wine, and watch the sunrise over the harbor. For those who need to get a little work done, the hotel’s common area has decent power outlets and a decent amount of natural light—nothing too fancy, but it’s enough to power your laptop without the Wi‑Fi hiccup that some bigger chains have.

The rooms at Hopfen by Little Heaven – Wyspa Spichrzów are what I’d call cozy yet functional. The mattress is a bit firmer than what I’m used to, but there’s a plush throw that makes the bed feel inviting. The décor is a neat blend of modern and rustic, with exposed wooden beams and a muted color palette that makes the space feel quiet and calm. I’m all about that quiet, so the noise level was pretty low—except for the occasional traffic at the corner of ul. Jaglana, which is hard to avoid in the city center. The bathroom is clean, and the shower has a good water pressure, which is a relief after a day of walking on uneven streets. Parking is a bit of a gamble; the hotel has a small lot right next to the building, but it can fill up fast, especially in the summer. I found a spot on the third floor of the building next to the hotel, which is still close enough to drop my bags. If you’re planning to stay during the busy July and August months, I’d suggest arriving early or booking a room with a parking allowance. On the quieter side of the

  • Filip from United Kingdom – 18 March 2025 (8/10)

The hosts DEFINITELY went above and beyond for me. 🙂 I arrived early, they accommodated me (including letting me crash on a cushy chair in the office). Would recommend!

  • Kinga from Poland – 7 February 2025 (8/10)

The apartment was located very close to the city center and the building was newly built. The apartment itself met all of our expectations.

What could be improved: The apartment could use some more decorations and little refurbishment especially in the bathroom (where the

  • Alexandra from United Kingdom – 10 December 2024 (8/10)

Great location, 7/8 mins walk into the old town, close to tram stop from the markets/forum shopping centre, quiet apartment block, no road noise and there is shops within the complex. Great for a few night stay!!

What could be improved: Instructions to find the block wasn’t easy, lots of apartment blocks next to each other, wasn’t clear which one it was and we walked round the whole “complex” a few times. One of the pillows were very lumpy and needed replacing, there wasn’t another pillow in the cupboard.

  • Aldona from United Kingdom – 1 December 2024 (8/10)

    – apartament was clean
    – location close to the city centre
    – additional radiator was a plus

What could be improved: – too early check out, never happened to me before to check out before 10AM

  • Sharon from Malta – 1 August 2024 (9/10)

Modern, clean and quiet. Apartment is at around 10mins on foot from city centre.

Fully equipped kitchen and comfortable bed.
    Would surely come back!
Gdansk is such a lovely and cute little city.

What could be improved: Everything was up to our expectations.

    Blisko do centrum

  • Mohib from Australia – 17 June 2024 (8/10)

The apartment was really good with good facilities. The room size was good.

What could be improved: The room did have no milk for tea and coffee and there was no shower gel facilities.

The staff was extremely rude when I asked them for early check in. Did not expect such rudeness. I won't book them again just because of their rudeness.

  • Zielinski from United Kingdom – 3 June 2024 (10/10)

    Location, views , room

  • Kavita from United Kingdom – 20 May 2024 (9/10)

Exceptional location, less than 10 mins walk to the city centre. You can walk by the canal or by the road to reach the centre. Lovely and quiet 1-bed apartment with a nice sized bedroom, living room, kitchen, bathroom, and balcony. Balcony gets the morning sun so was great to have breakfast outdoors overlooking the river, watching the kayakers going pass on the river. Lovely firm bed, nice shower with good water pressure. Kitchen stocked with basic utensils like mugs, glasses, plates, cutlery etc. Instructions were clear for key pick up and we could leave our bags at their office which was also about 10 mins away (and in turn 3 mins from city centre). Hosts were really helpful via WhatsApp.

What could be improved: 1. The cleanliness is only 8/9, which could be a perfect 10 if the cleaner paid better attention to details by hoovering up hair left from previous occupants. Found this in various parts of the flat, (eg behind little pillows of the sofa, under bedroom pillows which was off-putting as pillowcases/sheets should be fresh).
    2. If there could be places to put toiletries like a small shelf or caddy in the bathroom, that would be much better. We were balancing things precariously. Small sachets of shower gel/shampoo provided so best to bring own.
    3. This point isn't the Hosts' fault – You might be unfortunate to get loud idiots as neighbours drinking, shouting till the early hours. The double glazing is fab but isn't totally drunk-idiot-proof. Light sleepers might want earplugs. Quiet times are from 10pm to 6am which isn't respected by some.
