Holland House Residence Old Town Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Holland House Residence Old Town on Długi Targ feels like stepping into a postcard — honestly, the location couldn’t be more perfect if they tried. This four-star property sits right in the heart of Gdańsk’s historic center, and I mean literally in the thick of things. You’re surrounded by those gorgeous colorful merchant houses that make the Old Town so famous, and the energy here is just infectious. The building itself has this understated elegance that fits seamlessly into the medieval streetscape.
Location & Neighborhood
Here’s what I love about staying right on Długi Targ — you’re basically living inside Gdańsk’s most iconic street. The Neptune Fountain is practically your neighbor, and those Instagram-worthy facades are right outside your window. You can roll out of bed and be at the Main Town Hall in two minutes, or wander down to the Motława River without breaking a sweat. Couples absolutely rave about this spot (they rate it 9.8, which honestly makes total sense), and I get why — there’s something romantic about having the entire Old Town as your backyard.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in had this perfect balance of modern comfort and historic charm that you don’t always find in Old Town properties. The windows — well, let’s just say waking up to views of the colorful townhouses never gets old. What struck me was how quiet it actually was, despite being in such a bustling area. The furnishings feel thoughtful rather than flashy, and there’s enough space to spread out without feeling cramped. You know what really impressed me? The attention to detail in the finishes — everything feels well-maintained and genuinely comfortable.
Breakfast & Amenities
The continental breakfast setup works well for getting your day started before exploring the city. It’s not elaborate, but it covers the basics with quality ingredients — fresh bread, local selections, and good coffee that actually tastes like coffee. I appreciated that they keep things simple rather than trying to do too much. The staff here genuinely seems to know the area well, and they’re happy to point you toward the best spots that aren’t overrun with tour groups.
Why Guests Love It
Look, if you want to experience Gdańsk the way it’s meant to be experienced — waking up in the Old Town, stepping out your door into centuries of history, and having the city’s best attractions within walking distance — this place delivers. The 8.1 rating reflects what you actually get: solid comfort in an unbeatable location without any pretense. It’s not trying to be the fanciest place in town, but when you’re staying in one of Europe’s most beautiful historic centers, sometimes that’s exactly what you want. The fact that couples consistently rate the location so highly tells you everything you need to know about the romantic appeal of this spot.

Reviews of Holland House Residence Old Town
Sarah from United Kingdom – 8 June 2025 (8/10)
Our room was clean and comfortable, and the location is perfect – right in the centre of Gdańsk's restaurants, marina, shops and attractions.
Also walking distance from Stocznia Gdańska for anybody attending Mystic Festival in the future.
Polite and helpful staff with a 24hr reception desk, great if your flight arrives late like ours did! Everything was ideal, with no outside noise reaching us despite how busy the district is.
What could be improved: One minor inconvenience, was how dark the room was – even with all lights turned on and the curtains open, due to the room's position there was no direct sunlight so it was still too dark to get ready. It was fine though, the bathroom was nice and bright. Perhaps brighter bulbs for the non-sunlit rooms might be an idea?Stephen from United Kingdom – 2 June 2025 (9/10)
Very convenient and very large room

Excellent central location on main old town street. Close to numerous bars, restaurants, and cafes as well as principal tourist attractions and waterfront. Large characterful period rooms but with all modern comforts.

The staff are very friendly and remembered me from my previous stay. As I arrived they gave me an item I had left behind almost a year before. This a hotel to remember in an excellent location in The Old Town, close to the river. I recommend taking a river trip.
What could be improved: The view from my window was excellent, giving a real feel of the social life below. However, the party atmosphere continued till dawn as the cafés below are open all night through early morning. Even with ear plugs supplies by the hotel it was too noisy to sleep.Jill from United Kingdom – 17 May 2024 (8/10)
central to everything . Friendly reception and very spacious triple room
What could be improved: Absolutely Nothing apart from a tiny niggle . No hooks anywhere. Always needed , at least in the bathroom .
