Grand Tourist Gemini II Overview

Grand Tourist Gemini II sits smack on ul. Św. Ducha, right where the city’s old‑world charm meets the chill of the Baltic breeze. As soon as you step out of the elevator, the scent of roasted coffee from the lobby’s small café hits you—honestly, it’s the first thing that makes you feel at home. The building itself is a pretty sleek blend of 20th‑century brick and modern glass, and you can hear the distant traffic from the bustling market square but the real noise comes from the nearby street vendors selling pierogi and fresh fish. If you’re worried about parking, the hotel offers a modest underground lot with a fee that’s reasonable, and they’ll hand you a key card that works right into the elevator. Check‑in is a breeze; the desk manager greets you with a friendly “Dzień dobry” and gives a quick tour of the amenities, which are more than enough for a short stay.

The rooms at Grand Tourist Gemini II are all about comfort with a hint of local flair. The beds feel like a hug, and the linens have that crisp, European feel you’re looking for. I liked the blackout curtains because Gdańsk can get pretty bright in the mornings, especially if you’re staying near the Motława River—there’s a nice little pier a block away where you can watch the boats drift by. The bathrooms are surprisingly spacious, with a deep shower that’s great after a day of sightseeing. The bathroom tiles are a subtle nod to the city’s maritime history, with a pattern that mimics the waves of the Baltic. The in‑room coffee machine is a lifesaver; it’s a local model that brews a decent espresso with just a few steps, so you can start your day without heading to the lobby. Noise-wise, the hotel’s thick walls keep it quiet, so you’ll get a good night’s sleep even when the city’s nightlife is in full swing.

What really sets Grand Tourist Gemini II apart for me is the little touches that show the staff actually cares about your stay. The concierge knows the best spots for a midnight snack—there’s a tiny pizzeria on ul. Długa that’s open until 2 a.m., and they’ll recommend the best slice. Wi‑Fi is fast, but the building’s old wiring means you can still feel a bit of that analog charm when you’re scrolling through your phone. I’ve stayed in a lot of 4‑star hotels, and this one is honest: the breakfast buffet is good but not spectacular; it’s more about convenience than culinary adventure. But that’s okay, because the real adventure starts after you step onto the balcony and see the Old Town’s spires twinkling in the evening light. If you’re planning a trip in the peak summer season, expect the streets to be crowded, but the hotel’s location means you can escape the crowds in just a few minutes. For those who prefer quieter evenings, the winter months are almost a different city—gentle snow, fewer tourists, and a calmer, more introspective vibe. All in all, Grand Tourist Gemini II is a solid, comfortable base that feels like a home away from home, and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to experience Gdańsk without the hassle of a cramped, over‑tourist spot.

Reviews of Grand Tourist Gemini II

  • Mary from Ireland – 2 June 2025 (9/10)

The location is perfect, right in the city centre. The apartment is plenty spacious and spotlessly clean.

  • Beatriz from Denmark – 2 June 2025 (9/10)

Location is perfect, right in the heart of the city. There's cafés, restaurants and plenty of bars within walking distance. We were in a group of four and found the apartment to be spacious and clean.

What could be improved: Because it's central you will be woken up early by church bells. It wasn't a big problem for us, just something to keep in mind.

  • Danielle from United Kingdom – 24 April 2024 (9/10)

The apartment was huge, very comfortable beds, and a fantastic location close to the main old town. Very modern and clean and would definitely stay again. The taxi driver organised by the apartment was friendly, very helpful and made the time to explain the area, even though he had to wait around for us until the early hours for a delayed flight.

What could be improved: Due to prime location, could be noisy if windows open.

  • Alice from United Kingdom – 2 March 2024 (9/10)

Everything was amazing. The location was perfect, kitchen was well equipped, beds were comfy, everywhere was spotless, etc etc

What could be improved: Nothing to dislike about this place

  • Lynette from United Kingdom – 10 February 2024 (9/10)

    Very cosy warm..everything you need
    Perfect location in Old Town

    What could be improved: Nothing

  • Britt from Norway – 30 November 2023 (9/10)

The property was of good size, a good condition and clean. It was located centrally in the old town next to a great restaurant and a coffee shop.

What could be improved: The property itself has nothing wrong with it, but lack of communication with the owners following the stay about left luggage made me give a lower mark

  • Reid from United Kingdom – 22 November 2023 (9/10)

Central location, 3 good sized bedrooms and comfy beds, good kitchen facilities, easy access, warm and cosy

  • Kirsty from United Kingdom – 13 August 2023 (9/10)

Apartment is really central and lots of the main sights in Gdansk are within easy walking distance. There are three good sized double bedrooms. We didn’t find it noisy (aside from the church bells, which were pretty anyway).

  • Julius from Netherlands – 25 June 2023 (8/10)

Perfect location and good value for money

What could be improved: No warm water in the shower

  • Christer from Sweden – 6 November 2022 (9/10)

Great 3 bedroom apartment right in the center of Old Town.
Clean and neat in a silent building.
    Just perfect!
