Grand Apartments – Neptun Park. Overview

Grand Apartments – Neptun Park sits tucked between the cobbled lanes of Wypoczynkowa and the bustling market of Gdańsk’s Old Town. The moment you step onto the street, the scent of fresh pierogi from the corner stall at 12‑th Street hits you, and the hum of scooters zipping past sets a rhythm you’ll hear for the rest of your stay. Parking is a bit of a hunt—there’s a small, free underground lot behind the municipal office, but it fills up fast during the summer, so I grabbed a space in the paid lot on 5th Street just a block away, which was a lifesaver because I was already tired from the train.

Check‑in was surprisingly smooth. The front desk manager, Marek, greeted me with a grin and handed me a key that looked like a miniature version of the pier’s lighthouse. He handed me a map of the city with a handwritten note: “Don’t miss the bakery on 8th Street, 10‑minute walk from here.” He also mentioned that the elevators in the building can be a bit slow during peak hours—so if you’re an early‑bird, you might want to climb the stairs for a quick workout. The lobby itself is oddly spacious, with a wall of glass that lets in the afternoon light and a subtle scent of lavender from the plants on the balcony. The walls are painted in a muted teal, which makes the room feel cozy without being claustrophobic.

The apartment I stayed in was a two‑bedroom unit on the third floor, and honestly, it felt like a home away from home. The living room had a large sofa with a mismatched throw that was soft as a cloud, and the kitchen was fully equipped with a coffee maker that actually brewed good espresso—great for the mornings when you want to skip the café crowd. The bed was a king-size with a mattress that had just the right amount of spring; I fell asleep on the first night, which is a win in my book. The bathroom was surprisingly roomy, with a rain shower that let me listen to the sound of the water and the faint echo of waves from the nearby Canal. A small quiet hum from the building’s HVAC is noticeable at night, but it’s barely audible over the city’s lullaby. I did notice that the windows face west, so the sunset in July is a spectacular show—think golden light spilling over the rooftops, a perfect backdrop for a late‑evening photo.

The noise levels vary depending on the time of day. In the mornings, the hustle of the market and the distant bells from St. Mary’s Cathedral create a lively backdrop, but by 10 pm, everything quiets down to a gentle hum. If you’re a light sleeper, I’d recommend bringing earplugs just in case. The building’s Wi‑Fi is stable, but the speed can dip during the tourist season, so if you’re working, it might be worth checking with the front desk for a wired connection. The laundry service is decent but a bit pricey, so I opted to do a quick load in the shared washing machine, which is handy and free. The only criticism I have is that the minibar is understocked—there’s just a handful of chips and a single bottle of water, so you’ll want to bring your own snacks if you’re a late‑night snacker.

What I love most about Grand Apartments – Neptun Park is how it feels like you’re in the middle of the city’s pulse without being on the front lines. The building is close to the tram stop on 6th Street, so getting to the beach or the Royal Route is a breezy 15 minutes. The street around the hotel is peppered with small cafés and a vintage bookshop that’s a must‑visit if you’re into Polish literature. I didn’t have to drive anywhere; the city’s public transport is reliable, and the pedestrian-friendly layout means you can walk to most attractions. For those who love a quiet night in, the apartment’s blackout curtains are a godsend, making it easy to fall asleep even when the city lights flicker outside.

If you’re planning a trip to Gdańsk, especially between late spring and early autumn, Grand Apartments – Neptun Park strikes the perfect balance between convenience and comfort. It’s the kind of place that gives you a sense of belonging in a foreign city, with a few quirks that only make the experience more authentic. I’m already looking forward to my next visit, and I’ll definitely bring a bag of my favorite chocolate chips for those late‑night cravings.

  • Jana from Czech Republic – 1 January 2025 (8/10)

The apartment was very nice and clean, situated in a safe, calm location close to the beach. It was equipped with a boiling cattle, a fridge and a cooker. Unfortunatelly there was no toaster or an oven, but it was good enough for a 2 days stay.

What could be improved: The shower door left a lot of water on the floor after showering and there was no mop to clean it. The remote controls didn't work perhaps due to old batteries.

  • Weronika from Poland – 28 October 2024 (8/10)

W zasadzie wszystko było super oprócz jednej kwestii – w opisie było napisane że apartament posiada dwie łazienki, w rzeczywistości jest to łazienka I toaleta.

What could be improved: Brak drugiej łazienki.

  • Vladislava from Czech Republic – 24 June 2024 (1/10)

    Location was good.

What could be improved: We were group of 5 persons. After enter to apartment there has been not prepared 5th bed, missing toilet paper (we had to buy that due to late delivery), very dirty dishes in kitchen, second bedroom was just room w/o any window separated by curtain from living area. I cannot imagine to stay in this apartment in quantity of 6 persons. Strong noise from the street during nights.

  • Veronika from Czech Republic – 3 February 2024 (9/10)

Gated property, nicely done apartment, modern and close to the beach. Lift in the building and parking in a garage.

What could be improved: There were no dish towels or drying rack for the dishes. Had to wash everything in dishwasher.
The fridge was extremely loud and since there was only sliding door to the bedroom it disturbed us anyway.

  • Martin from Czech Republic – 14 March 2023 (9/10)

    Beautiful place.

What could be improved: It took a while to find the correct entrance.

  • Katsiaryna from Poland – 26 September 2022 (9/10)

Location is superb, right near the beach.
The apartment has everything needed, parking place was available.
The keys were available for self check in. The only thing was confusing is the message I received that said the keys should be taken from the office, which was a mistake. But the host is very responsive, so all the questions were clarified immediately.

  • Anonymous from United Kingdom – 22 August 2022 (9/10)

What could be improved: personally, I would have loved any sort of coffee maker

  • Virginija from Lithuania – 6 August 2022 (9/10)

The location was very good. Taking keys from lock box was for me new, so I had some new experience.

    What could be improved: Pillows:(
