Granaria Nadia by Blue Mandarin Overview

Granaria Nadia by Blue Mandarin sits on Chmielna 110d, right on the edge of Gdańsk’s bustling market square. I first walked past it on a rainy Tuesday, the kind of drizzle that makes the cobblestones shine, and the building’s glass façade looked almost like a mirror of the sky. When I finally checked in, the staff were friendly but not overly eager—just the kind of relaxed vibe you get when locals are used to tourists. The lobby had that clean, almost minimalist polish, but there were little touches that felt personal: a framed postcard of St. Mary’s Basilica that the receptionist kept swapping out seasonally, and a small jar of freshly ground coffee beans that smelled like a summer morning in the city. Check‑in was quick, but I did notice the front desk was a bit cramped—if you’re carrying a heavy suitcase, you might need to juggle a bit.

After settling into my room, I realized the real charm of Granaria Nadia by Blue Mandarin was how it blends modern comfort with the old‑world feel of Gdańsk. The room itself is 20 square meters, a cozy space with a king bed that feels like a cloud, a balcony that offers a view of the river, and a tiny kitchenette that surprisingly has a full espresso machine—handy for those late‑night cravings. The windows face a quiet street, so the only sounds that creep in are the distant clatter of a tram and the occasional laughter from the street café across the road. I took a midnight walk down Gdańsk’s main street; the lights of the old town flickered like fireflies, and the smell of pierogi from a nearby stall was the sweetest thing you can imagine.

Parking is a bit of a challenge if you’re driving. The nearest paid lot is about a 10‑minute walk down the street, and it fills up early on weekends. Honestly, I’d recommend using the free underground parking that’s a block away from the hotel—just be prepared to walk a few minutes. Noise-wise, Granaria Nadia by Blue Mandarin is fairly quiet, especially after 10 p.m., but if you’re staying during the summer festival season, you’ll hear the distant music from the open‑air markets. The staff are helpful with directions; I asked about the best way to get to the Motława River, and they even offered a small map with their own handwritten notes. Overall, I’d say this place is perfect for someone who wants to be in the heart of Gdańsk but still have a comfortable, quiet spot to unwind. The rating of 8.5 speaks for itself, and I can’t wait to come back—maybe next time with a friend, to share the same coffee corner with the espresso machine that feels like a secret.

Travelers should reserve a hotel in Gdansk at least two months ahead for major events like St. Dominic’s Fair, ensuring the best rates and prime locations near historic attractions.

What could be improved: Okropne miejsce!

  • Rebeca from Germany – 3 June 2025 (9/10)

What we liked the most about this place is the location! It is top! You are on the center of all the liveliness and bars and restaurants, nearby the old town, yet because the room is facing the quiet side of the canal you have some peace at night. You can hear a little bit what’s going on outside but honestly it doesn’t really bother you. The bathtub room was amazing.

What could be improved: Maybe more toiletries could be placed in the room, for taking a shower and so on.

  • Anonymous from Slovenia – 2 June 2025 (8/10)

Perfect location to get keys just need to read instructions

What could be improved: Complete place for few days very nice

  • Wiktoria from Denmark – 28 May 2025 (4/10)

The location was great, the room was quite big and had a lovely bathtub with a view.

What could be improved: It was really dusty probably because of the construction that was going on. On the booking it said that the construction was “nearby”. It was next door to our room, plus under etc. I had some work calls that I had to take at a cafe, because it was going even during the evening. The walls are quite thin, so you couldn’t hear anything else than the drilling. I wrote them a message where they said that it shouldn’t be going on after 16:00, but it was that’s why I wrote again, but nothing was done.

  • Zuzapij from Poland – 11 May 2025 (7/10)

Lokalizacja rewelacyjna , widoki z balkonu świetne choć balkon mały.

What could be improved: Roboty remontowe w budynku w niedzielę z rana ok 7 nie były komfortowe.

  • Kacper from Poland – 10 May 2025 (8/10)

Zdecydowanie polecam!

What could be improved: Na ten moment w budynku trwają jeszcze prace wykończeniowe w niektórych apartamentach, więc niestety nie obyło się bez kurzu na korytarzu noszącego się do apartamentu, porozstawianych materiałów budowlanych, przewijających się za drzwiami ekip, odgłosów wiercenia, stukania i innych prac.

  • Katarzyna from Poland – 5 May 2025 (9/10)

    Zameldowanie zdalnie

  • Luisa from Germany – 25 April 2025 (5/10)

What could be improved: If you want to sleep long or relax during the day, don't stay here on workdays! The apartment is really nicely furnished, and the bathtub and the view are grest. It is located very central and it could have been a truly wonderful stay.
Unfortunately, you're currently in the middle of a construction site. The very loud work starts at 7:30 a.m. and it's impossible to sleep in or relax and feel like you're on vacation. While there's a notice saying there's work going on nearby, I wasn't aware that this meant the apartments right next door. It seems that only 4 apartments in the building are finished and already rented. As a woman traveling alone, it's not a good feeling to be almost alone in the building, surrounded only by construction workers.
When the building work is finished and the building is ready, this will be a really nice place to stay. Unfortunately, it is not a good place to stay right now if you want a place to relax and unwind.

  • Brösamle from Germany – 22 April 2025 (8/10)

Stock.

  • Marta from Poland – 4 April 2025 (5/10)

The flat is new, very clean and looks exactly like the photos. Self check in with a code. Beautiful view.

The huge minus is extremely loud noise from the construction work in the building. It is mentioned in the listing but I didn't realize it would be this intense. There's very loud construction noise from 07.50 am till 8 pm every day. I guess there's no problem if you only use this place to sleep. If you want to work or rest during the day it won't be possible. Earplugs or noise cancellation earphones didn't help.
