Granaria Grand Studio Overview

Granaria Grand Studio sits just off Chmielna 3, smack in the heart of Gdańsk’s bustling Old Town – and trust me, that’s the sweet spot if you want to be close to the action but still breathe easy. I rolled into the lobby around 3 p.m., and the first thing you notice is the warm, almost homely vibe that cuts through the usual hotel corporate feel. The receptionist was on the ball, checking you in in under five minutes (no waiting line, which is a relief after the usual back‑to‑back tourist hours). The staff even had a small Polish phrase ready for you – “Miłego pobytu!” – which honestly made me feel like a local, not a visitor. Parking is a bit of a puzzle, but the hotel offers a discreet valet service that places your car in a nearby underground lot (you’ll get a key fob that works on the lift – no awkward back‑to‑back exchanges). The only downside? The lobby is right next to a busy pedestrian zone, so the street hum can seep in, but it’s a low‑level, constant buzz that’s almost comforting.

Inside, the studio feels like a small apartment with a touch of luxury you won’t find in a standard budget hotel. The bed is a surprisingly plush platform mattress, which is a huge win after a long flight – the sheets are crisp, the duvet is just the right weight, and the foot of the bed has a built‑in reading lamp that’s solar‑powered (no need to hunt for outlets). I loved that the room had a small kitchenette with a kettle, coffee maker, and a set of local Polish teas – a tiny, thoughtful nod to local culture. The bathroom is a clean, glass‑shaped space with a walk‑in shower that has a rain‑shower head, and the shower water is warm enough to melt your stress away. The room’s noise level is surprisingly quiet after 9 p.m., even though the street outside is lively during the day. The only thing that could use a tweak is the lack of a public restroom in the building – you have to climb a flight of stairs to the 2nd floor, but the staff makes it clear that the hotel’s bathroom is spotless and well‑maintained.

Getting out, the hotel’s location is a dead‑center jackpot. From the lobby, you can walk to the iconic St. Mary’s Church in just a few minutes, and the canal lanes are a stone’s throw away – perfect for a sunset stroll along the Motława River. If you’re craving local cuisine, there’s a family‑run pierogi place on Stradom just two blocks away, and you can grab a coffee at a café that serves the best Żubrówka‑infused lattes (cheers to Polish spirits!). For a little escape, there’s a hidden gem: a tiny art gallery tucked into an alley on Gdańsk Canal, showcasing contemporary Polish artists. The hotel’s staff always has the best recommendations for the quieter spots during peak season – like the small park behind the cathedral where you can relax without the usual tourist crowds. Timing-wise, if you’re traveling in July, expect the streets to be bustling, but the hotel’s interior is a calm bubble. In winter, the quiet is almost palpable, with the occasional snow crunching under your sneakers. All in all, Granaria Grand Studio feels like the perfect blend of comfort, convenience, and a genuine sense of Gdańsk’s local heartbeat.

Hotels in Gdansk offer visitors the opportunity to stay in the heart of this Baltic gem, with easy access to shipyards, museums, and coastal attractions.

Reviews of Granaria Grand Studio

  • Nick from New Zealand – 29 May 2025 (9/10)

Very nice and new apartment, great having a dishwasher and washing machine. Superb views along the river. View from the bed was also amazing and what a way to wake in the morning. Stunning. Location was very very central and excellent, car parking was easy to use. Lots of restaurants and bars and cafes nearby, a small convenience grocery store next door. The host was very responsive and fast with queries. Very pleased we stayed here.

What could be improved: The apartment is quite small and not much room for suitcases so we had to step over them. A 2 person table would have been enough. Quite noisy at night from the bar at ground level, no idea why they needed to be so noisy, the bar needs a warning from the building owner. However I slept through the noise well, and my wife who is a light sleeper was happy to use ear plugs which are comfy if you get decent ones. For this.location the noise was worth it and I'd stay again. We don't understand the 2 duvet bed cover thing on a Queen bed, we have never experienced that before but it seems to be a European thing.

Czystość apartamentu 15/10! Piękny przestrzenny widok na Motławę. Jesteśmy mile zaskoczeni podejściem gospodarza. Pani zainteresowana zadzwoniła do nas czy udało się wejść do apartamentu bez większego problemu. Ogromny szacunek. Dziękujemy 😊

  • Piotr from Poland – 11 February 2025 (10/10)

    Bliskość do centrum. I widok.

  • Marta from Poland – 18 January 2025 (10/10)

    Wszystko super

  • Nadiia from Poland – 7 January 2025 (10/10)

Kolejny pobyt w tym apartamencie. Przepiękny widok,małe mieszkanie, ale jest wszystko niezbędne

What could be improved: Może zbyt niskie poduszki

  • Łukasz from Poland – 2 December 2024 (10/10)

  • Mariusz from Poland – 1 October 2024 (10/10)

Apartament zgody z opisem .Lokalizacja ,wyposażony we wszystkie udogodnienia (pralka expres do kawy zmywarka żelazko itp.) kawa herbata cukier sól pieprz na plus wszystko na miejscu i co najważniejsze parking podziemny w cenie apartament bez problemu mieści duże auto typu SUV. Udany pobyt na pewno warto.

What could be improved: Mały minusik: Gwar z lokali gastronomicznych działających w pobliżu po 22 niestety może troszkę przeszkadzać. Fakt że wybór w tej super lokalizacji niesie takie ryzyko.

  • Oliver from Germany – 27 September 2024 (8/10)

Zentrale Lage, Blick auf Fluss, ruhig, Parken in Garage, guter Infoservice, alles klappte wie beschrieben

What could be improved: Nur Kleinigkeiten: keine Geschirrhandtücher, kein Toaster (wir gehören noch nicht zur Generation Mikrowelle!), eine Teekanne (das wäre wirklich gut, fehlt aber häufig in Apartments). Eher Jammer auf hohem Niveau 😁

  • Karl from Germany – 25 May 2024 (10/10)

    Very nice location.
    Very good communication.
In that area you can find lot of restaurants and nice places to stay for a while (according to that it can be a little bit loud in the evening).

  • Petr from Czech Republic – 10 April 2023 (10/10)

Extremely beautiful apartment located right in the centre. Small but nicely designed. Comfy beds! Clean! Very easy communication and getting in. Parking available.

What could be improved: The only thing we were not happy about was the noise from the restaurant downstairs.
