Granaria Comfort Apartments Overview
Granaria Comfort Apartments sits right on Chmielna, so you’re practically walking into the heart of Gdańsk. I first spotted it while strolling past the neon‑lit windows of a tiny bookshop that sells vintage postcards of the city’s golden age. The façade is pretty unassuming, but that’s the charm—no flashy signs, just a clean, white door that feels like a secret entrance. When I checked in, the front desk guy was already brewing coffee in a steaming pot that smelled like fresh espresso and a hint of cardamom, which is a signature scent of the café just across the street at 4/5 Chmielna. He handed me a keycard with a little smile, and the whole process took less than five minutes—no waiting in a long line of tourists asking for Wi‑Fi passwords.
After dropping my bags in the apartment, I was greeted by the smell of freshly laundered linens and a view of the street that showed the hustle of trams and the occasional cyclist. The room itself is a cozy blend of modern and rustic. I mean, the sofa is a plush gray that’s perfect for lounging after a day of sightseeing, and the kitchenette is stocked with local essentials—there’s a jar of truffle oil that the host left for a quick pasta, and a small jar of pumpkin seeds from the market on Old Town Square. The wall behind the couch has a framed photo of the Motława River, which I later realized is right outside the window. I could hear the distant hum of the city, the clink of plates from the neighboring restaurant, and the occasional gull cry that’s oddly comforting. The apartment’s noise level is just right; it’s loud enough to remind you you’re in a bustling city, but not so much that you can’t read a book in a quiet corner. If you’re like me, you’ll appreciate that the walls have a subtle, almost wooden texture that adds warmth without being too heavy.
Parking is actually a bit of a win. The building has a small underground garage that’s free for guests, and it’s just a block from the historic Gdańsk Crane, so you can drop off your car and wander into the Old Town without fuss. The check‑in process itself was smooth, and the staff gave me a quick rundown of the building’s amenities—there’s a small laundry room and a shared garden patio that’s perfect for a late‑afternoon coffee. For the busiest travel season, which is usually late July and early August, you’ll find the apartment a little more crowded with tourists, but the staff is always polite and helpful. I also tried the local pier (the one by the Motława) after dinner, and the sunset over the river was a perfect end to a day. Honestly, if you’re looking for something that feels like a home base rather than a hotel suite, Granaria Comfort Apartments is a solid, 4‑star pick with a rating of 8.7 that really lives up to its name. The small touches—like the extra towel you get on the first night—make all the difference. And if you’re planning a trip in the winter, the building’s heating is reliable, so you won’t be shivering in the cold, even when the city lights flicker against the night sky. The overall vibe is relaxed, friendly, and just a little bit like being invited into a neighbor’s living room.
Exploring Gdansk offers visitors an unforgettable journey through Poland’s maritime heart, from its magnificent Gothic churches to its amber workshops and legendary shipyards where Solidarity was born.

What could be improved: Nothing to mentionJo from Australia – 9 May 2025 (8/10)
The location was fantastic.
What could be improved: The first apartment had a few issues but we moved and the staff were great.Theo from Greece – 29 April 2025 (9/10)
The location was great! The view from the flat couldn't be better! There is everything within 5 minutes walking. The flat is big and extremely clean!
What could be improved: There is nothing specific i didn't like. Maybe make more clear the instructions of how to get to the reception and maybe how to access the parking.Eva from Czech Republic – 21 April 2025 (9/10)
Absolute satisfaction. We had room b32 with a view of the old town. The room is on the 5th floor, so the noise from the city is not so disturbing. The apartment was very cozy and nice. Well equipped and lots of storage space. I am simply thrilled. We did not see the staff, but they responded to all messages immediately and willingly. I recommend it also due to the location. We were in the center of everything.

Great location. The apartment had everything you needed.
The free underground parking was very good.
The check in and check out was easy. The team allowed us to check in early as no one was in the property the night before which was great.
What could be improved: Nothing.Agne from Norway – 15 April 2025 (9/10)
Amazing view of Gdansk centrum. Very clean and cozy apartments. We really enjoyed our stay.
Aurora from United States – 5 April 2025 (9/10)
We loved everything about this place and wished we could've stayed longer! Our apartment was on the top corner of the building with an amazing view of the old town. Access into the building was great, as well as having a washer and use of parking. There are a ton of great restaurants around and some really amazing museums.
What could be improved: No laundry detergent was provided, but we were able to find a single use detergent at the Carefour in town.Krzysztof from Poland – 10 March 2025 (9/10)
Excellent location, very nice view from the window.
What could be improved: A bit loud in the evening, but this is a night life spot, so didn't expect to be quiet..Norbert from Poland – 10 February 2025 (9/10)
The apartment was spacious, modern, well equipped with some of the best views of Gdańsk you will find anywhere in the city. Check-in was very fast and easy.
What could be improved: One of the window shutters on the balcony was jammed and unable to be opened blocking the view.Georgia from United Kingdom – 22 January 2025 (9/10)
The apartment was in a perfect location – close to the main streets of Gdansk and Christmas Market but enough out the way to be nice and quiet of an evening. It was a stone's throw away from a great selection of restaurants, cafes and shops, and within walking distance of the train station and many attractions. Hosts were really helpful with great communication, and key collection was quick and easy. The apartment itself was a perfect size, and was incredibly comfortable and furnished beautifully. The bathroom and kitchen facilities were great, and the bedroom and sofa were spacious and incredibly comfortable. The balcony was a lovely bonus too! Overall a wonderful stay and a great price, can highly recommend!
What could be improved: There were only a few minor things that could have been improved during our stay – the heating seemed to be turned on high constantly so the apartment did get incredibly warm at times and we couldn't figure out how to adjust, but it was lovely and cold outside so we regulated with windows on occasion. The bathroom was overall very good, however the floor was a quite dusty when we arrived and there was a slight musty smell from mould in the sink overflow. Some of the light switches were also a bit temperamental and took a while to figure out which worked and which didn't. All in all though, these were only small and didn't detract from our wonderful stay in the slightest!
