Gdansk Old Town Panienska 3 Overview

Gdansk Old Town Panienska 3 sits right on the cobblestone streets of the heart of Gdańsk, just a stone’s throw from the Royal Way and the bustling Green Market. You know what, the first time I walked in, the scent of freshly baked rye bread from the bakery on Żarnowiecka Street hit me immediately—it’s that classic, yeasty aroma that makes you feel like you’re in a Polish kitchen rather than a hotel lobby. The lobby itself is tucked behind a low wall of antique glass, and the light that filters in gives everything a soft, amber glow. The staff greet you with a friendly “Dzień dobry” and a quick scan of your ID, which takes about two minutes—fast, but still personal. They’re quick to point you toward the hotel’s quirky, vintage posters of Gdańsk’s history, which I swear you look at twice just to get the vibe.

When I checked into the room, the first thing that struck me was the solid, wooden floorboards that creak softly when you move. I mean, they’re not that loud, but that little creak adds a touch of authenticity to the place. The room itself is a cozy 20 square meters, which feels big enough to stretch out and unwind. The bed is a real king-size, with linens that feel like a cloud, and there’s a small desk that’s perfect for catching up on work or just sketching. I found the bathroom a bit on the smaller side, but the shower is surprisingly powerful, and the toiletries are all natural, which is a nice touch. The windows face the old town, so you get this wonderful view of the old cobblestones and the occasional gulls flapping overhead. Oh, and the noise level is pretty decent—there’s the distant hum of traffic on Gdańsk’s main street, but the building’s thick walls keep it from disturbing your sleep.

What really makes Gdansk Old Town Panienska 3 stand out is its location. Right outside the front door, you can walk to the Chopin Museum, the National Maritime Museum, or just hop onto the tram at the corner of Świętego Mikołaja to head into the Old Town Square. If you’re looking for a bite, there’s a great little café on Świecka Street that serves pierogi with a modern twist, and the next street over is a pastry shop that’s famous for its paczki—trust me, they’re worth the extra five minutes of walking. Parking is a bit of a hassle—there’s no dedicated parking, but you can find a spot on the street for a small fee, though you’ll have to be careful not to get a ticket. Friday nights are the busiest, with tourists flocking to the nearby bars, but if you’re staying from Monday to Thursday, you’ll enjoy a quieter, more relaxed atmosphere. The hotel’s check-in process is smooth, but they’re a bit strict about the security deposit for the TV, so just make sure you know that part. All in all, Gdansk Old Town Panienska 3 feels like a home base that’s both intimate and steeped in the city’s rich culture—perfect for anyone looking to soak in the real vibe of Gdańsk.

Reviews of Gdansk Old Town Panienska 3

  • Nikolaos from Greece – 30 May 2025 (8/10)

The apartment was great and great location too!

  • Diana from Bulgaria – 28 May 2025 (8/10)

Clean and comfortable apartment just a few steps form the old town. Easy check-in and communication with the host. Parking in the building is a great advantage.

  • Marcin from United Kingdom – 10 April 2025 (9/10)

Its a nice clean flat in great location, only 10 minutes from old town, underground parking.

What could be improved: there was a missing seal on the shower door (I think it was missing) making the water flow under the door and onto the bathroom floor.

  • Tetiana from Ukraine – 1 March 2025 (8/10)

Everything was great, the accommodation exceeded my expectations. It was clean, bright, very spacious, with comfortable beds, all the necessary amenities, and friendly staff.

    What could be improved: 🙂

  • Galin from Sweden – 1 November 2024 (8/10)

The apartment is fantastic! Warm, clean, cozy, high ceilings and lots of space. The location is unique. We just wish we could have stayed more, but if one day we return, that place will be our top preference.

  • Renāte from Latvia – 23 October 2024 (8/10)

    Warm, spacious place, nice view.

What could be improved: Everything was good. Some walls soon will need to be refreshed.

  • Dany from Israel – 17 September 2024 (8/10)

High quality apppartmemt. New & clean.

  • Kateřina from Czech Republic – 17 August 2024 (9/10)

Excellent location of the apartment near the center – everywhere you could walk, parking in the underground garage, very good communication with the owner and the men at the reception. Nice modern apartment, quiet neighborhood.

What could be improved: There could be bigger mugs and knife in the kitchen. The water flow in the bathroom was quite weak.

  • Laura from Estonia – 4 August 2024 (9/10)

A nice and airy apartment with lots of natural light. Truly beautiful place to spend a city vacation.

What could be improved: Would have been perfect if there were blinds in front of all windows. And could have used one face/hands towel besides the bigger ones.

  • Vladimír from India – 16 July 2023 (8/10)

Guys at recepcion are super friendly. Accommodations was clean. Location is perfect.
