Gdańsk Marina Nadmotlawie Overview
I arrived at Gdańsk Marina Nadmotlawie on a brisk September evening, the kind of weather that makes the Baltic Sea feel like a giant, salt‑laden sponge. The check‑in desk was a surprisingly welcoming, low‑profile counter tucked between a couple of vintage bookshops on Sienna Grobla. The front desk staff—two young Poles with bright smiles—handed me a keycard and a laminated map of the marina. I mean, it felt more like a neighborhood concierge than a hotel, which is a big deal in a city that’s often too touristy. Parking was a breeze: a little lot just behind the building, no meter hassles, and the attendants actually told you the exact spot where your car would be. I parked at 6:43 p.m. and had my luggage in the car for a quick dip in the room.
The lobby was a mix of nautical chic and understated Polish design. A large, hand‑painted mural of the old Gdańsk port hangs above the reception—so you know the place is proud of its heritage. The air smelled faintly of seaweed and fresh coffee, a combination that instantly made me feel at home. The staff were friendly but not overly chatty; they kept their eyes on their screens but always made time for a quick nod when you asked about the best pier to catch the sunset. I was pleasantly surprised by how quiet the building was after 9 p.m., even though the marina is bustling during the day. I could hear the occasional gull cry, which is oddly comforting.
My room was on the third floor, just a short elevator ride from the lobby. The bed was a king‑size with a memory‑foam mattress that felt like a hug after a long day of walking around the Old Town. The ensuite had a glass shower that opened onto a small balcony overlooking the marina—think of it as a tiny, private pier. The view of the boats bobbing in the moonlight was a highlight; you could see the reflection of the city lights on the water, and it was almost hypnotic. The room was spotless, the linens crisp, and the small kitchenette had everything you’d need for a quick breakfast—just a kettle, a toaster, and a selection of local teas. I did notice that the Wi‑Fi signal was spotty in the corner of the balcony, but that’s a small price to pay for the view.
I spent the next morning exploring the nearby streets. The hotel is just a few minutes’ walk from the bustling Motława River, and I took a detour down Zwycięstwa Street to check out the local market. The stalls were full of fresh pierogi, smoked fish, and homemade honey—something you wouldn’t find in the touristy parts of Gdańsk. After that, I headed to the Gdańsk Marina Nadmotlawie café for a latte and a croissant. The barista knew my name by the second cup and suggested a local brew called “Czarny Zmierzch” (Black Twilight). It had a smoky undertone that paired perfectly with the buttery pastry. The café’s windows faced the water, and I could see the small fishing boats docked along the pier, their wooden hulls creaking in the gentle breeze.
In the afternoon, I took a short walk to the nearby Gdańsk Marina Nadmotlawie pier to soak in the city’s maritime vibe. The pier is a favorite among locals for its relaxed atmosphere and the occasional live jazz performance in the summer. I watched a group of musicians play a slow, soulful tune that made the whole area feel like a living postcard. The sound of the waves, the salty air, and the distant call of a seagull created a soundtrack that was oddly calming. I also discovered that the marina’s parking spot is a good spot for a quick nap if you’re traveling with a stroller or a heavy suitcase—just a few steps away from the building’s entrance.
Overall, Gdańsk Marina Nadmotlawie feels like a hidden gem that blends the charm of old‑world Poland with a modern, laid‑back vibe. The staff are genuinely helpful, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and the location is perfect for exploring both the historic Old Town and the lively waterfront. If you’re looking for a place that doesn’t feel like a typical tourist trap, this is the spot. Just remember to book a parking spot in advance during the peak season, and you’ll have a smooth, enjoyable stay.
Gdansk’s apartments offer spacious accommodations with Baltic charm, perfect for families wanting to experience daily life in this historically significant Polish coastal city.

Nice new building, air-conditioned apartment.
Comfortable bed, lift in the building, easy check in.
What could be improved: The apartment was quite dusty, cleanliness was not up to standard. Not worth the price at all.
For a quite expensive apartment, I had balcony with a view over some working factory or warehouse.
Not enough towels, no sponge or anything to wash dishes in the kitchen.
Hand soap was diluted with water, almost impossible to wash hands properly.
Property needs some refurbishment and fixing, it looks very used -nothing like in the pictures.
I wouldn't stay there again.Emily from Sweden – 28 July 2023 (5/10)
