Focus Hotel Premium Gdańsk Overview

Focus Hotel Premium Gdańsk sits right on Nad Stawem, a narrow cobblestone street that feels like an alley out of a postcard. I remember stepping off the tram at Długi Targ and walking a few blocks—just enough to feel the historic buzz of the Old Town. The building itself is a nice mix of old façade and modern interiors, and honestly the first thing you notice is that the lobby is polished but not over‑the‑top; it’s a place you can actually sit and chat with the receptionist. Check‑in was quick, but I did have to carry my suitcase up the stairs to the third floor—no elevator until the 4th, so a bit of a workout if you’re not used to it. The staff were friendly, gave me a small gift of local amber candy, and the keyless entry system made for a smooth hand‑off. If you’re worried about parking, there’s a municipal lot just across from the hotel on St. Mary’s Street; it’s a bit of a walk but they do offer a free parking space for guests.

The rooms are the real charm. You’re not looking at overpriced suites; the space is functional, with a surprisingly large window that frames the Motława River at sunset. The bed is a real treat—medium‑firm mattress, good linens, and the bedside lamp has a little amber glow that feels like a nod to the local gem trade. I stayed in a room with a balcony that faces the old port, and the sound of gulls and distant traffic is a low‑key soundtrack that’s actually soothing. The bathroom is clean, the shower has a decent water pressure, and the complimentary local soap has a mild citrus scent that doesn’t overwhelm. Breakfast was a decent start: the hotel’s café offers a selection of Polish pastries, fresh croissants, and a decent espresso machine. I did notice the croissants were a touch dry, but the coffee was strong enough to wake you up. The staff were helpful, recommending a nearby café on Mickiewicza Street that has the best latte art in town.

If you’re planning to explore, Focus Hotel Premium Gdańsk is a prime spot. The Royal Route runs just a block away, and you can hop on a tram that takes you to the marina in Jelitkowo in just a few minutes. For a quiet night, the hotel’s rooftop terrace is a hidden gem; you can watch the city lights flicker against the Old Town skyline while sipping a glass of wyborowa. I did find the noise level a bit higher on Friday evenings, but that’s to be expected in a city center—just make sure you get a good pair of earplugs if you’re a light sleeper. Overall, I think Focus Hotel Premium Gdańsk offers a solid balance of convenience, comfort, and a touch of local flavor. The only real downside is the lack of an elevator, which can be a hassle if you’re carrying heavy luggage. But honestly, for a mid‑range price point in the heart of Gdańsk, it’s a pretty sweet deal. If you’re looking to stay close to the action without breaking the bank, you’ve got a good spot here.

To book hotel in Gdansk during the famous St. Dominic’s Fair season, visitors should make reservations well in advance as the city attracts maritime enthusiasts and history lovers from around the world.

Reviews of Focus Hotel Premium Gdańsk

  • Vivien from United Kingdom – 8 June 2025 (9/10)

    Very helpful female receptionist
No maps of the city available despite information in the room to that effect. The receptionist found a tourist guide in English which had a map.

Also the packed lunch available to take away in dining room

What could be improved: The foreign staff in the dining room
Kept customers waiting whilst they helped themselves to coffee and chatted a lot. Not too bad most days but on the Sunday morning incredibly lazy. Very slow at clearing tables and replenishing food. Worst serving staff we encountered in 15 days.

  • Lukasz from Poland – 1 May 2025 (9/10)

Excellent service at the desk, rooms really tidy, good food

What could be improved: Nothing in this section to address

  • Michał from Germany – 23 March 2025 (9/10)

Spacious room, clean, available parking, decent breakfast

What could be improved: There was some random beeping in the hallway in the morning

  • Regina from Netherlands – 11 March 2025 (8/10)

Solid option! Really big quiet rooms and bathrooms, with very comfortable beds and high quality materials all around you: from curtains to mattress to doors. Don’t mind that the hotel is right next to a railway – the sound isolation is really excellent. Yoh won’t hear anything. The staff is friendly and professional.

  • Oleksandr from Poland – 1 March 2025 (9/10)

All was good. Tasty breakfast, helpful personnel and the room was nice and cosy but a little old.
Also, the hotel has its own restaurant, which is convenient when you don't want to go out due to rain.
Overall, all was good, and I can recommend this hotel.

  • Aleš from Czech Republic – 19 February 2025 (9/10)

Very good breakfast. Garage parking (but could be full, not many parking places).

What could be improved: Hotel outdoor parking not right next to the hotel.

  • Olsson from Sweden – 18 February 2025 (9/10)

Location, reception, service minded personnel, breakfast, room, bathroom, mineral water

  • Aleksandra from Poland – 27 January 2025 (9/10)

Spacious Room, truly comfortable – could do exercise with no problem;) It was super easy to get there – Wrzeszcz is actually great location.

What could be improved: Staff was great! SO friendly! Truly that was making my stay super. Breakfast was also good and what I loved – they prepared sandwich to go for everyone in the morning. Small thing but very nice;)

  • Jesse from Poland – 16 January 2025 (9/10)

I like the location, the room and the service.

What could be improved: I feel that the breakfast package is a bit overpriced.

  • Sergiy from Ukraine – 15 January 2025 (9/10)

It was the second time we stayed in Focus Hotel. Good location, comfortable rooms, welcoming stuff, great value for money.

What could be improved: all good
