Fancy Apartments Old Town Overview

When I first spotted Fancy Apartments Old Town tucked between the cobblestones of Tartaczna 3, I felt that instant “aha” moment—like finding a secret spot that locals swear by. The building itself is a neat 4‑star gem, and honestly, the 9.1 rating on my travel app was a solid clue that this place was worth a visit. Check‑in was at 3 pm, and the front desk staff were friendly enough to give you a quick tour of the apartment layout before you even unpacked. They were a bit slow with the paperwork, but that’s the price of being a boutique operation with a handful of rooms. They did give me a small key card for the underground parking—just a 2‑minute walk from the entrance, which is super handy if you’re driving into the historic core.

Walking out onto the street, the noise level was surprisingly low, even though you’re smack dab in the middle of the Old Town. The building’s soundproofing is top‑notch, so you can nap after a day of sightseeing without being woken up by the tram rattle or the late‑night bar chatter. Speaking of bars, there’s a quirky little place called “Kawiarnia Różana” just a block over on Dluga Street, and it’s my go‑to for a cup of espresso with a view of the Motława River. I mean, who doesn’t love a steaming latte while watching the boats glide past? The apartment itself is decorated in a modern‑industrial style that feels both cozy and spacious—plenty of natural light, and the kitchen has all the essentials, plus a small espresso machine that’s a real treat. The only thing that could use a tweak is the Wi‑Fi; it’s decent most of the time but can lag during peak hours on the 7th floor. Oh, and if you’re staying during the summer months, the city buzz is at its peak, so you’ll want to keep your curtains closed for a good night’s sleep.

When you’re ready to step out, you’re practically at the heart of Gdańsk’s most iconic spots. St. Mary’s Church is a short stroll away, and right across the street is the Old Town Hall, where you can snap a photo of the famous “Jellyfish” clock. I love that the hotel’s location means you can wander the narrow lanes and discover hidden cafés before the tourist crowds even show up. The local market on Gdańsk’s market square offers fresh pierogi and smoked fish—just a few minutes from your front door. And if you’re traveling in the quieter winter months, the city feels almost magical with the snow dusting the rooftops, and the apartment’s heated floors keep you toasty. All in all, Fancy Apartments Old Town feels like a home away from home—friendly, well‑located, and just the right amount of quiet for a restful stay. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone who wants an authentic slice of Gdańsk with a touch of modern comfort.

  • Mike from United Kingdom – 9 October 2024 (10/10)

Excellent apartment in a really convenient location. Very clean and well equipped, bed and sofa bed were very comfortable. Host was great with communicating relevant information. Apartment is located within minutes of the nearest restaurants and mini-markets and still close to many more. The main square is maybe 10 minutes walk.

  • Vipin from France – 7 November 2023 (10/10)

Ground floor / well secured and clean building
    Big apartment / Clean / Beautiful / Perfect /
Washing machine / Clean kitchen with dishwasher
    Iron table / Tea
Small Supermarket next to it until 23hr

–> May be a small coffee machine can make this place exceptional

–> May be a small store room for the people cannot check out 11am will be extremely helpful. Bag packers stuggle with that a bit.

  • Sophie from United Kingdom – 13 September 2023 (8/10)

Simple self service to access the apartment. All instructions were given on the day of arrival. The location is great (don't use Google.maps.it sent us the long way round) it is literally a 2 minute walk to the waterfront.

Staff were great. Never met them, as they were away but I do like just being left to enjoy our holiday but they always answered quickly to any questions.

A* for customer service. My partner left this wallet (realised once we were through security at the airport) when I got in touch they said they will return the wallet to us! Which is great as it saves cancelling cards etc. Adobe and beyond customer service.
