Drim Apartaments Overview

Drim Apartaments sits on świętej Barbary 11, right smack in the heart of Gdańsk’s old town, and honestly, I never thought I’d find a place that feels like a cozy flat and a hotel at the same time. The building itself looks like a classic brick townhouse you’d spot in the cobblestoned streets, but once you step inside, the vibe shifts to something that feels surprisingly modern and very, well, lived-in. The lobby is that cozy nook you’d see in a friend’s apartment—soft lighting, a hand-painted mural of the Motława River, and a small coffee bar where the barista knows the names of regulars by heart. Check‑in is surprisingly quick; the front desk staff greets you with a warm smile and a quick rundown of the Wi‑Fi password, which is faster than the Wi‑Fi at most other 4‑star spots in the area.

The rooms are spacious enough to stretch out like a sofa and have a kitchenette that actually works, so you can whip up a quick breakfast or a light dinner without stepping outside. The décor is a fun mix of mid‑century modern and local artisan touches—think hand‑woven textiles from a nearby Gdańsk market and a framed photograph of the old town square taken by a local photographer. I was in the corner room, and the view of the city’s rooftops was like looking at a postcard, but from a living room. The bed is a sleeper sofa that does a great job of turning into a comfy bed, and the apartment’s floor-to-ceiling windows let in plenty of natural light, which is a real perk on those rainy Polish mornings. If you’re a night owl, the apartment is pretty quiet, the only noise being the occasional distant siren or the chime of a train passing by the nearby railway station.

What really sets Drim Apartaments apart is the location. I’m telling you, walking out onto świętej Barbary street feels like stepping into a storybook. You’ll find yourself right by the Old Town’s main square, with the famous Neptune Fountain just a block away, and a handful of little cafés that serve the best pierogi and placki ziemniaczane. The next street over, on Święty Marcin, is lined with boutique shops that sell handmade lace and local amber jewelry—perfect for a quick, authentic shopping spree. For those who need parking, there’s a small parking garage just a few steps away, and the staff will let you in for a reasonable fee; no hidden charges, which is a breath of fresh air in a city where parking can be a nightmare. If you’re traveling with family, the apartment’s layout is practical—you can keep the kids’ toys in the living area while your partner enjoys a quiet night in the little bedroom.

The only bump I’ve noticed is that during the high season—think late spring to early fall—the noise from the main square can be a bit loud, especially at night. But honestly, you’ll get used to it; the city’s nightlife is part of its charm. The staff at Drim Apartaments are super friendly and always ready with local tips, like the best spot to catch a sunset over the Motława on the pier, or where to find a hidden courtyard that’s only accessible to locals. If you’re staying for a few days, the breakfast bar on the 2nd floor offers a homemade jam that’s simply divine—think raspberry, a splash of lemon, and a hint of vanilla. It’s a little luxury that keeps you coming back for the next morning.

Overall, Drim Apartaments feels like a home away from home, with a dash of Polish hospitality and that extra touch of local authenticity that makes all the difference. Whether you’re a history buff, a foodie, or just looking for a comfortable, well-located place to unwind, this spot has it all. And if you’re wandering the streets of Gdańsk, you’ll hear the hum of the city, the occasional laugh from a nearby café, and the gentle clink of a glass of local beer—sounds that remind you you’re right in the middle of the action, but still in a place that feels like your own little sanctuary. Stay a few nights, and you’ll see why I keep recommending Drim Apartaments to everyone who’s ready to dive into the heart of Gdańsk.

Hotel in Gdansk booking should be done early, especially during summer festivals when the city hosts internationally celebrated cultural and maritime events.

Reviews of Drim Apartaments

Beautiful apartment. Lovely view. Great location.

    What could be improved: Nothing

  • Aliaksandr from Poland – 29 July 2024 (9/10)

Modern building, modern furniture in the apartment, well equipped. Great location, very close to the old town, restaurants, etc. Nice view of the river from the window.

What could be improved: Nothing critical. The parking system in the building a bit risky due to car size limitations. I decided to use public parking on the street, cause it was easy to find available slot near the building and the price was just a bit higher.

  • Piotr from United States – 24 June 2024 (10/10)

What could be improved: Time going to fast

  • Adam from Australia – 13 June 2024 (10/10)

    Location was great
    Easy to get to

What could be improved: There was no air conditioning

  • Joanna from United Kingdom – 25 April 2024 (10/10)

I do like absolutely everything! Location with an amazing view and close distance to all shops, restaurants etc., cleanliness and comfort of the beds and spacious apartment itself, all amenities included (toiletries, kitchen equipment and appliances, washing machine)…Absolutely stunning. You can definitely find everything you need in here! Highly recommended and when in Gdańsk won’t looking anywhere else as Drim Apartments are the best choice! Communication with Kasia was great, she was helpful to answer any questions and was fast responding for any requests. She met all our needs! We were able to use facilities like saunas, pool, gym and jacuzzi in the price of the apartment which was additional plus as the weather in Gdańsk wasn’t best at the time of our visit. Thank you very much, we are happy with our choice and stay!

What could be improved: There is no single thing we didn’t like. Small issue was that we couldn’t connect to Netflix in bedroom tv but Amazon Prime was working fine (however needed to connect with WiFi every single time when switching in tv and not all movies available to be played in PL). As I said it’s not big deal as many other programs available to watch (however not enough in English for my partner to watch). Anyway, much better than any hotel tv’s which are always problematic to operate due to the signal issues.

What could be improved: Noisy building work, but looks like it will be finished by the summer.

  • Maria799 from Denmark – 30 August 2022 (8/10)

Really good place and clean. It had it all. Close to the train station

What could be improved: Had to book a timeslot for the pool area.

  • Paulius from Lithuania – 4 July 2022 (10/10)
