Domek na Wyspie Sobieszewskiej Overview
Domek na Wyspie Sobieszewskiej sits right on the edge of the Baltic, tucked into Gdańsk’s quieter Sobieszewska Island. I first spotted it from a café in the Old Town, and the moment you step off the tram at Uzdrowiskowa 29, the fresh ocean air hits you – salty, clean, like a clean slate. The building itself looks like a modern cottage with its flat roof and wide windows, but inside it’s all about comfort and subtle local touches. The lobby is surprisingly quiet, even on a Saturday, because the hotel has a strict no‑loud‑music policy after 10 pm – a lifesaver for anyone who likes to sleep in. The staff greet you with a warm smile and a quick briefing: “Check‑in is 3 pm, but if you arrive early, you can leave your bag at the desk and explore the pier.” They’re also super helpful with Wi‑Fi passwords and directions to the nearest fish market.
Parking is a bit of a maze, but there’s a small lot behind the hotel that’s free for guests. I meant, you have to park in a narrow lane that turns into a cobblestone street, so grab a seat at a local café and watch the traffic. The front desk staff will give you a parking permit, and it’s usually a 10‑minute walk to the dock, which is perfect if you’re planning a kayak trip or just want to watch the sunrise. There’s no loud nightlife because the island is mostly residential, but you’ll hear the occasional boat horn or a fisherman shouting out across the water – the kind of sound that makes you feel part of the city’s rhythm. The check‑in experience is straightforward: you show your ID, pick up a keycard, and you’re ready to go. The only critique is that the keycard sometimes takes a minute to register, but the staff apologizes with a sincere “sorry for the wait.” Honestly, it’s a small hiccup in an otherwise smooth process.
If you’re staying at Domek na Wyspie Sobieszewskiej, the mornings are the best. The sea breeze brings a faint scent of pine from the nearby forests, and the sunrise over Motława is a postcard in motion. The rooms have a cozy vibe – think crisp linens, a small balcony, and a view that can be either the calm harbor or the city’s skyline, depending on where you’re looking. The bathroom is modern, with a rainfall shower that’s surprisingly powerful, and the tiles are polished to a shine that reflects the sea light. I’ve had a few guests complain about the Wi‑Fi being spotty in the evenings, but for most of the day it’s reliable enough to stream a movie or check the news.
One of the hidden gems near the hotel is the little pier that leads out onto the water. It’s a favorite among locals for morning coffee, and the barista at the kiosk, Marek, will hand you a latte that’s as strong as your morning alarm. He knows your order before you even sit down, which is a sign of how well that place is integrated into the community. If you’re looking for a bite, there’s a fish stall right at the end of the pier that sells fresh herring and smoked salmon – you know, that salty bite that lingers on your tongue. The hotel’s breakfast is decent, but the real treat is the freshly baked rye bread you can’t find in any chain café.
Overall, Domek na Wyspie Sobieszewskiej feels like a cozy slice of Gdańsk that you can actually breathe in. The 4‑star rating of 9.4 is no exaggeration – it’s a place that feels curated by locals, with practical touches that make a stay comfortable without feeling like a marketing pitch. If you’re planning a trip to Gdańsk, especially during the shoulder season when the city isn’t swamped with tourists, this is a spot you’ll want to drop by. It’s a place that feels like you’re staying in a neighbor’s home, just with better Wi‑Fi and a view that’s worth the price. I mean, it’s perfect for a weekend getaway or a longer stay, and honestly, the quiet, the sea sounds, and the friendly staff make it a memorable part of any Gdańsk adventure.
Gdansk hotels provide guests with comfortable accommodations in Poland’s maritime capital, known for its rich amber trade history and Solidarity movement heritage.

Idealne miejsce żeby odpocząć, absolutna cisza i spokój. Każdy domek jest ogrodzony więc jest 100% prywatności. Domek czysty, w pełni wyposażony. Nad morze można dojść spacerem, trasą przez pola ok. 50 min. Pies również szczęśliwy po pobycie 🙂

Domek funkcjonalny, czysty, na ogrodzonym terenie: pralka, zmywarka i nawet kominek.
What could be improved: Odległość od morza, ok. 4 – 5 km, dość słaby dojazd rowerami przez pola.Piotr from Poland – 17 April 2025 (9/10)

What could be improved: -latem może być sporo owadów. My byliśmy w kwietniu więc tego problemu nie było.Katarzyna from Poland – 11 March 2025 (10/10)
Dobrej jakości armatura i brak problemów z ciepłą wodą. Zdecydowanie polecamy!

The owner is a very nice and helpful person, met us, showed us in, gave suggestions on what to do around. Fireplace and enough firewood + an electric heater if you don't want to burn wood. Kitchen with everything you would need (there's even a dishwasher). A closed off personal yard around the house is perfect for having a dog with you.
