Dom Muzyka Overview
Dom Muzyka sits on ul. Łąkowa 1-2, right where the old town vibes start to mingle with a hint of the Motława River breeze. The moment you step in, the lobby feels like a living museum of sound – the walls are covered in framed vinyl covers, and a vintage turntable spins a soft jazz track that makes you think, “I actually just stumbled into a cozy, slightly retro bar.” The staff greeted me with a warm smile and handed me a key card that glowed faintly in my palm, a small but sweet nod to modern hospitality. I was told that the check‑in process is pretty quick, but you’ll find there’s a personal touch: the concierge even offered a map with their favorite coffee spots marked, which is perfect for someone who wants to skip the tourist trap.
After the brief walk down a cobblestone alley, the room was a quiet sanctuary. The floorboards creaked in a comforting way – like a lullaby for the feet – and the curtains were a deep navy that made the natural light from the window feel like a warm hug. The bed, with its crisp linens, promised sleep, but the real charm was the small kitchenette: a kettle by the window that whistled when you set it on the counter, and a mini fridge stocked with local cheese and a bottle of sparkling water. The bathroom was compact (you might say “sort of” small for a 4‑star place), but the shower had that high‑pressure spray that made you feel like you were in a spa, and the tiles were cool under your toes. Noise-wise, it’s a bit of a mixed bag – early mornings are quiet, but if you’re a light sleeper, the distant hum of the city (especially close to the harbor) can be a bit much. Parking is a plus: there’s a small underground space just behind the building, and the street parking on ul. Łąkowa is usually free, though you might have to shuffle your luggage a bit during busy weekends.
When I stepped outside again, the city greeted me with a different soundtrack – the clatter of trams, the murmur of people chatting in Polish, and the distant splash of waves against the pier. A short stroll takes you to ul. Młynowa, where you’ll find a handful of independent bakeries; you can’t miss the aroma of fresh rye bread wafting from a shop that’s been family‑run for decades. A few blocks away, the Stary Cmentarz offers a peaceful, almost eerie, historic walk that’s surprisingly off‑the‑beaten‑path. If you’re looking for a slice of local life, hop on the tram to the Motława and sit on the riverbank at sunset – the sky turns that orange‑gold that makes you stop and take a picture without even thinking about it. For a quieter evening, there’s a small jazz club on ul. Długa that’s just a ten‑minute walk from Dom Muzyka; the owner knows the regulars by name and the music is always a little deeper than the city’s mainstream playlists. All in all, staying at Dom Muzyka felt like having a friend’s house for a week – the kind of experience that makes you want to write a review but decide to just keep these memories tucked away for the next trip.

Comfortable and clean. Good service from the staff. Restaurant with decent food. Located very close to the center and in a very safe area.
What could be improved: It's not the hotel's fault, but in the next room they had the television on at excessive volume until very late.Ilya from Spain – 6 May 2025 (8/10)

Easy access from the airport, I took the bus, then walked to the hotel. Other options are available. Both buses and trams stops are very close.
The Old Town of Gdansk, War Museum and The European Solidarity Centre again with walking distance or public transport.
I was there for 3 nights and the breakfast at the hotel had a good range of food.
The staff were all polite and helpful.
My room was for solo occupancy. 417 top floor lighting was very good. I had only a small window on the floor level, which wasn't a problem. I was out all day. I'd quite happily stay there again
