The lobby is surprisingly airy, with a big window that frames the Motława River—a view that makes you want to linger there, sipping coffee and watching boats drift past. The staff greet you with that warm, almost conspiratorial Gdańsk vibe—“Welcome, friend!” is the standard, and they’re quick to offer a city map that’s more than just a tourist guide, it’s a local cheat sheet.

The apartment I stayed in is a snug one‑bedroom that feels like a tiny loft. Floor‑to‑ceiling windows let the city light pour in, and the kitchenette is fully equipped—there are even a few Polish staples like pierogi mix and a kettle that works like a charm. I found the bed to be an absolute surprise; the mattress is firm but plush, and the sheets feel as if they were woven from the sea breeze itself. It’s not a five‑star palace, but it’s a clear 4‑star experience with a rating of 8.8, which you can feel in the quality of the towels, the noise‑proof windows, and the smart storage that keeps the apartment tidy. Parking is straightforward, with a small paid lot right below the building—though you can also hop on the free municipal parking on Królowej Jadwigi Street if you don’t mind a short walk. Check‑in is at 3 pm, and the receptionist is super friendly; they’ll let you drop your bags early if you’re eager to explore, which I did.

Sitting on the balcony after a day of walking the Old Town, I could hear the distant hum of the Szczęśliwka ferry and the clink of plates from the nearby “Pod Łososiem” restaurant, a local favorite for grilled herring. The noise level is pretty low after midnight, so you can sleep without a care, but during the day the street is lively—locals chatting, street musicians, tourists, and the occasional crummy tourist with a selfie stick. The only critique is that the Wi‑Fi is a bit spotty in the back corner of the apartment, but that’s no big deal; you can always step outside onto the terrace and connect to the city’s public network. If you’re visiting in July, expect the place to be bustling, with tourists crowding the pier and the sea air turning salty. In December, it’s much quieter, and the lights from the Christmas market on Dluga Street give the whole area a cozy glow.

All in all, Dom & House delivers that authentic Gdańsk feel without the fluff. You’ll get a true sense of the city’s rhythm, from the historic stones to the modern waterfront, and you’ll leave feeling like you’ve lived there for a night. If you’re after a comfortable, small‑scale stay that lets you soak in both the city and the sea, this place is a solid pick—no hype, just real, reliable comfort.

Travelers should reserve a hotel in Gdansk at least two months ahead for major events like St. Dominic’s Fair, ensuring the best rates and prime locations near historic attractions.

  Ridiculously good rooms for the price. Amazing view, airconditioning in both living-room/bedroom and walking distance to just about everything.
  
  There is a pool, although we didn't use this too much. However the place was everything we expected and more.
  
  What could be improved: Hard to really criticize anything here. People in the reception weren't really receptive, as some people complain about here. But these people don't actually seem to be directly affiliated with the apartments. Not that it matters much regardless, great place in every way.
  
  Some furniture hadn't been properly washed under, but honestly one has to be really petty to complain about an amazing deal like this.

  Very good location, short walk from the old town. Amazing view from the balcony. Apartment was very modern. Indoor swimming pool downstairs.

  The building was new and modern, which is fantastic as it has the vibe of being clean and fresh. The room was sparkling clean and liked as it was in the picture. The washing machine was working. The location was near the Old Town and city center. Despite having a convenience store at the front, as well as restaurants and bars, the place was not noisy at night. The parking, pool, sauna and gym were perfect as they are included in the price of the room (which is hard to find free in the area) I would recommend this to my friends and consider to book this again when we come back to Gdansk.
  
  What could be improved: However, for the 2 rooms that we booked, the towels were only 8 to think that we were 9 people, and the hand towels were only 4 pieces. It could have been better with one or 2 more rolls of tissue in the bathroom and the kitchen, also, a baking dish could have been useful for those who wish to use the oven. The sofas were old but sturdy, the floors of the bathroom were a bit slippery. The WIFI signal was weak, it turns on and off and it tends to disconnect from your phone. The two aircons (in the bedroom and the living room) have only one remote control, and there were no instructions on how to use it, it seemed to only work with one at a time and not simultaneously. There is a construction a few steps away from the building that brings a loud sound at daytime.

  This property was very clean, big windows and doors that allowed the beautiful views of Gdańsk to be taken in. There is also a balcony great for morning coffee or glass of wine at night. There is a pool, sauna and jacuzzi free of charge to use once staying at the property. There is also a supermarket located directly outside the property, as well as various restaurants. The location to the old town from the property was excellent; walking distance. The Forum Gdańsk Shopping mall is 2 stops down from the property by bus or tram.
  
  What could be improved: The microwave didn’t work, there were no tea towels and there wore no utensils for cooking eg. Pot spoons, thongs etc. These were just minor things that we thought should be mentioned. Other than that our stay was AMAZING!!!!

  I love the property. I’ve stayed here before several times. Great standard: clean, modern, amazing beds, complimentary tea and coffee and all the important bits in place like hairdryer, iron, ironing board and lots of storage.

  What could be improved: The property used to be managed by absolutely fabulous staff on site who would furnish you with keys, be on call for questions and generally provide a sense of home away from home. It was partly the staff at reception who would bring me and my family back over and over again. It was very sad not to see them there. I was annoyed as the price didn’t include city tax which I had to pay separately (why?). As o missed emails about it (we all have busy lives) I ended to having to pay this on my way from the airport and then ended up not getting the access details.
  Had to call a call centre and navigate number pressing ad infinitum. The staff at the call centre were LOVELY and helpful but I really didn’t need it after arriving after several hours trip from early flight.
  
  Was very happy to see the kind and welcoming older gentleman at the security desk which was a relief. At least someone in the building I recognised.
