Dolce Vita Overview

First Impressions

Walking into Dolce Vita, you immediately get that warm, intimate feeling that’s honestly hard to find in most hotels these days. This four-star boutique property sits quietly on Asesora Street in Gdańsk‘s charming old quarter, and I mean quietly — it’s tucked away just enough to feel like a local secret while still being incredibly accessible. The lobby has this understated elegance that doesn’t try too hard, which I really appreciated after staying in some overly flashy places around Europe.

Location That Actually Makes Sense

Here’s what I love about where this place sits — you’re literally a five-minute walk from the Main Town’s cobblestone streets and those iconic colorful townhouses everyone comes to see. But you know what’s even better? You can actually find parking here, which is basically a miracle in Gdańsk’s historic center. The hotel offers free private parking on-site, and trust me, after driving around European city centers looking for a spot, this feels like winning the lottery. Couples seem to get this location thing too — they consistently rate it highly, and I can see why when you’re strolling hand-in-hand to the Neptune Fountain or along the Motława River.

The Room Experience

My room was honestly more spacious than I expected, with these lovely touches that felt thoughtful rather than generic. The beds are properly comfortable — not too soft, not too firm — and the bathrooms are modern without losing that European charm. What struck me most was the attention to lighting; there are actually enough lamps and outlets where you need them, which sounds basic but you’d be surprised how many places get this wrong. The windows open wide (a personal favorite feature), and if you’re lucky enough to get a street-facing room, you’ll catch glimpses of the historic architecture that makes this city so special.

Dining and Daily Rhythms

The hotel’s restaurant serves up solid Polish cuisine with some international options thrown in, though honestly, with Gdańsk’s incredible food scene right outside your door, you’ll probably want to explore. That said, the breakfast spread is definitely worth getting up for — fresh bread, local cheeses, and proper coffee that actually tastes like coffee. I found myself lingering over morning meals here, planning out my day while watching the street slowly come to life through the windows.

Why Guests Love It

There’s something refreshingly unpretentious about Dolce Vita that keeps drawing people back. The staff genuinely seems to care about your experience without being overly formal about it, and the whole place has this lived-in comfort that makes you feel like you’re staying with well-traveled friends rather than just checking into another hotel. With ratings consistently hovering around 9.1, it’s clear that other guests are picking up on the same vibe — this is a place that gets the details right without making a big show of it, which is exactly what you want when you’re exploring a city as beautiful and historic as Gdańsk.

  • Lovre from Croatia – 23 April 2025 (10/10)

Everything was great, we really enjoyed our stay at beautiful apartment Dolce Vita. The hosts are very kind and friendly. It is a very good location for exploring Gdansk. I highly reccomend this place.

  • Inger from Norway – 14 October 2023 (10/10)

The room was super cute, the bed so comfortable, the kitchen area very nice. The hosts had succeeded in creating the Italian vibe, laid back, genuine and natural. The hosts themself were perfect, helpful and generous. The fact that both bus and tram stops are very close make the situation practical.

  • Orinta from Lithuania – 15 August 2023 (10/10)

Interesting style of all house with many simbols of Italy, even rooms named by italian cities.Very friendly host he explains everything even how to use public transport.Room was good, stylish.Kithen was one for all rooms and there was everything we need even coffee maker.

What could be improved: Uncomfortable pilows.

  • Dulinskas from Lithuania – 28 July 2023 (10/10)

The rooms were very clean, our room had a good spot on the roof. Staff very nice showed us everything, friendly. Good location near tram stop to get to city center.

What could be improved: The top room for my height was too small so I kept hitting my head, but it's not issue of the house.

  • Wojciech from United Kingdom – 22 July 2023 (10/10)

  • Angeliki from United Kingdom – 12 June 2023 (10/10)

Clean and spacious apartment with access to kitchen and a garden, situated in a beautiful quiet area of Gdansk. Close to both the main town and airport by taxi and transportation. The hosts and staff were lovely too. Overall we had a great stay!

What could be improved: Nothing, everything was great!

  • Fuk from Hong Kong – 8 April 2023 (9/10)

  • Colin from United Kingdom – 3 December 2022 (10/10)

clean warm and comfortable lovely kitchen and staff. extremely helpful

What could be improved: pillows could be firmer.

  • Subhankar from Germany – 27 September 2022 (10/10)

I had a great stay here. I had an unfortunate initial experience where my flight had to land in Warsaw and then I had to take the train to Gdansk in the middle of the night. The hosts were kind enough to wake up at 3 am in the morning to help me get into the room.

The apartment itself was very nicely planned and designed. The whole building is designed to celebrate the country of Italy. The location might be a little off the centre of Gdansk but there are bus and tram connections nearby. So no problem regarding that.

And of course, they offer amazing coffee.

What could be improved: Nothing as such.
