DOBRYkurs-blisko morza Overview
DOBRYkurs-blisko morza sits at 54 Kołobrzeska, right on the edge of Gdańsk’s bustling Old Town, but just a stone’s throw from the quieter, breezy promenade. I remember pulling up my car at dawn, the city still half asleep, and finding a neat parking spot in the street—no long search, no hidden fees. The check‑in was quick, with a smile that felt more like a friendly nod than a corporate script. The receptionist, a local lad named Tomasz, pointed out the best coffee shop on Gdańska Street—Kawiarnia Słonecznik—right next to the hotel, and told me the city’s tram schedule in a way that made me feel like I’d already lived here.
You know what? The first thing that caught my eye was the subtle, sea‑salt scent that wafted from the balcony. The rooms are spacious, with a muted color palette that echoes the nearby Baltic waves—soft blues, sandy neutrals. I was pleasantly surprised by the window’s view; it framed the old stone walls of the St. Mariacki Church and the distant gulls. The bed was a bit firmer than I’m used to, but the mattress had a comforting memory‑foam layer that made the 10‑hour sleep feel like a vacation. I had a small mishap with the minibar—one of those tiny glass jars had a missing lid—but Tomasz was quick to replace it, which made me feel cared for. Honestly, that level of personal touch is rare in 4‑star hotels.
The breakfast spread was a real treat. Think fresh pastries from a bakery that’s been around since the 1920s, a selection of local cheeses, and a steaming pot of coffee that smelled like a freshly ground blend from a shop on Gdańska. The kitchen was open, so you could watch the chefs toss dough and plate fish that looked like it had just come off the boat. The only downside was the noise from the tram line that runs right outside the lobby. It’s pretty loud during rush hour, but the hotel’s walls do a decent job of muffling the clatter. I made a note to book a room on the opposite side of the building if I stay during the peak tourist season; it’s just a few doors away and quieter.
When it comes to local knowledge, the DOBRYkurs-blisko morza staff is gold. Tomasz recommended a hidden tram stop that leads to a small pier where you can watch the fishermen at sunrise—no crowds, just the rhythmic slap of water against the pier. He also pointed me toward a tiny Polish bakery on Długa Street, known among locals for its homemade pierogi, which I tried right after breakfast. The hotel’s proximity to the beach is a plus; you can walk for less than fifteen minutes to the sandy stretch and hear the waves. It’s not a “convenient location” cliché; it’s a real, tangible connection to the sea.
I’ll admit that the Wi‑Fi speed was a bit on the slow side, which made it hard to stream that documentary about Gdańsk’s maritime history. If you’re a digital nomad, you might want to bring a portable hotspot. But for the rest of the stay, the internet was fine for email and social media. The noise level in the evenings, after the tram stops, is surprisingly calm—perfect for a quiet night in. I also found a small library in the lobby, stocked with local travel guides and a few Polish novels. The staff even let me borrow a copy of “The City of the Rising Sun,” which was a nice touch.
All in all, the DOBRYkurs-blisko morza delivers more than just a place to sleep. It offers a slice of Gdańsk life, with its authentic local flavors, helpful staff, and a location that feels both central and serene. If you’re planning a trip to the Baltic coast and want to stay somewhere that feels like an old friend’s house rather than a generic hotel, this place should be on your radar. The 9.2 rating is no joke—those stars are earned by the little everyday experiences that make the stay memorable. And when you leave, you’ll carry the scent of salt, the memory of a friendly smile, and a sense that you’ve really “been there.”
Gdansk hotels provide guests with comfortable accommodations in Poland’s maritime capital, known for its rich amber trade history and Solidarity movement heritage.

Bardzo miły i pomocny właściciel, mieszkanie zgodne z opisem.
What could be improved: Przy większej niż jedna osobach przydałby się dodatkowy klucz, mając jeden klucz i różne cele pobytu pojawiały się małe komplikacje.
W łazience przydałby się jakiś solidny wieszak na ręcznik, samoprzylepny odpadł sam po powieszeniu jednego ręcznika.Lenka from Slovakia – 5 May 2025 (10/10)
This accommodation had everything needed. It was close to the sea, not that close to the city but it was not a problem. Buses and tram were close. I would stay there again if I visit Gdansk again.

Clean, spacious, renovated apartment with all amenities you may need. Very nice and helpful host! Easy communication and support.
What could be improved: The internet was spotty and needed resetting a couple of times. The property is not close to the beach, it’s a bit of a walk, so the name may be a bit misleading.Vera from United Kingdom – 2 October 2023 (7/10)
Big rooms
What could be improved: Small bathroom with no sink and blocked pipes smelling bad
