Cynthia Apartment – Old Town Igielnicka Overview

Cynthia Apartment – Old Town Igielnicka sits tucked between the cobblestones of Igielnicka Street and the gentle curve of the Motława River, right where the old city walls meet the modern bustle. Walking up the stone steps, you almost feel the echo of the old maritime trade that once filled this area. The building itself is a charming, two‑storey façade with a small wrought‑iron balcony that looks straight into the heart of Gdańsk’s Old Town. The first thing you notice is the soft, warm glow of the street lamps at night, turning the alleyway into a quiet, almost secret corridor. Honestly, it feels like you’ve slipped into a postcard that actually exists.

Inside, the apartment is surprisingly spacious for a boutique stay. The living area is bright, with a mix of vintage Polish décor and modern touches—think exposed brick walls paired with a sleek, minimalist sofa. The kitchen is fully equipped: a compact fridge, a single burner stove, and enough counter space to whip up a quick pierogi. I mean, if you’re a foodie, you’ll appreciate the little kitchen island that doubles as a dining space. Check‑in is smooth; the staff greet you with a friendly smile and a quick rundown of the Wi‑Fi password—no long lines, just a few minutes of conversation over coffee. Parking is a bit of a hassle; there’s no dedicated garage, but you can find a street spot near the corner of Igielnicka and Szeroka. It’s a bit pricey during the summer months, but for the right price, you’ll get a spot right next to the building.

Noise-wise, you’ll hear the usual city hum—cars, trams, and the occasional tourist chatter from the market stalls around the Długi Targ. But the river’s gentle lapping is surprisingly soothing, especially if you’re in the apartment’s balcony at night. The smell of fresh bread from the bakery on Jagiellonka Street can drift in through an open window. The building’s windows are double‑glazed, so the street noise isn’t a huge problem, though early mornings can get a bit loud with delivery trucks and the tram whistle. On the bright side, the apartment’s location is a stone’s throw from the Gdańsk Crane, St. Mary’s Church, and the bustling Christmas market in the winter. If you’re planning to wander the Old Town, you’re literally stepping out of the hostel into the historic streets—no need to hop on a bus.

When it comes to the overall vibe, I’d say Cynthia Apartment – Old Town Igielnicka strikes a fine balance between comfort and authenticity. The only thing that could use a tweak is maybe a more robust air conditioning unit for the hot July days, but honestly, it’s a small hiccup compared to the overall experience. The staff are genuinely friendly; one of them even shared a local recipe for a traditional mushroom soup. If you’re after a place that feels like a local’s home rather than a corporate hotel, this is the spot. The apartment’s blend of history, convenience, and the quiet moments by the river make it a memorable base for exploring Gdańsk. And trust me, after a day of strolling through the city’s medieval lanes, you’ll be glad you stayed in a place that feels like a cozy nook in the city’s beating heart.

To book hotel in Gdansk during the famous St. Dominic’s Fair season, visitors should make reservations well in advance as the city attracts maritime enthusiasts and history lovers from around the world.

Apartament super zadbany, czysty i w pełni wyposażony. Cała rodzina zadowolona z pobytu, polecam wszystkim.

  • Irmina from Poland – 8 December 2024 (9/10)

  • Radosław from Poland – 17 November 2024 (9/10)

Obiekt czysty i schludny, dobrze wyposażony.

  • Francesca from Italy – 13 November 2024 (8/10)

we had a issue with the code for accessing the building. But that was our fault (we did not understood the code) and the landlord answered soon to our question.

What could be improved: We had some issues to find the main door of the building, because Google maps indicated another door as main door. The main entrance was not on the main street but in the backyard

The light of floor where the was the flat was broken, so we had to use our smartphone to make enough light to find the keys and open the door

  • Aldona from Poland – 21 October 2024 (9/10)

Świetna lokalizacja, apartament czysty, bardzo ładny. Polecam 🙂

What could be improved: Nie mogliśmy znaleźć wejścia do budynku.

  • Włodzimierz from Poland – 10 October 2024 (9/10)

What could be improved: Naprawić armaturę w łazience

  • Josep from Spain – 29 August 2024 (9/10)

  • Katalin from Hungary – 17 August 2024 (9/10)

Az óvároshoz nagyon közel található. Közel van a piaccsarnok is.

What could be improved: Ilyen nem volt.

  • Ernesta from Lithuania – 13 May 2024 (9/10)

The perfect location and the possibility to park the car free of charge!

What could be improved: The only thing that was uncomfortable was the amount of bedding and towels.
